I just draw my manga/cartoon/whatever genre I draw self.
No, I don't take art classes. Never have, never will. It was just a class project.
Mine looked the best because I didn't try so hard to be realistic. I just drew what I though I looked like. X3
Well, when I draw I don't try to draw the entire shape with one stroke. I make a sorta short stroke and then another and another untill I get the desired shape. That's why if you look very closely at my pictures the lines can stray off from the main body. I usualy earase those, but some remain..
I also go over lightly first on paper, seriously it helps.
I can't give you anything along the lines of "draw three circles for the arm and two big ones for the body" because everything I draw is freehand start to finish.
PRACTICE PRACTICE. THAT IS THE KEY, PRACTICE AND EXPERIMENTATION WITH NEW DRAWING STYLES AND EFFECTS.
Ah. I'm best when I'm drawing quadrapeds.

Ah, like how artists can use live models and maniquenes for tough poses? :D
Have you ever tried that? Ask somebody to pose in a wierd position for you? I got my dad to stand on his hands for me once. Then there was my mom on the bike, that was really helpful.
How they're able to get those robots to look so realistic I'll never know.
