• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • I'd love to be a writer as well, and I too have a long way to go. When I was in kindergarten I really wanted to be a paleontologist who also wrote books- I was just obsessed with going to dinosaur museums. I think I grew out of that.
I'm glad that it is nearly Christmas. Christmas vacation and all that, you know, and the holiday is my favorite. Easter and Halloween come second, though Easter didn't line up with a vacation last year. My district typically gets off a day or two around Halloween, so that's nice.
There was a nine year old boy who wrote a book about picking up girls, and his story was posted online in the news for people to comment on.
They were really cruel, acting like he was arrogant or idiotic. I know it's silly for a nine year old to write about girls, but his tips were decent for a little kid and he seemed sincere, kind of untouched by how horrible dating can be and such. It was really sweet to read the article, but then we had people commenting, saying that girls don't like smart guys. That comment puzzled me. What about intelligent guys is not to like? I had a short-lived crush on this one really smart guy a while back- we kind of hated each other and he didn't have many friends, but he didn't seem pathetic or even nerdy. He was just... above it all. It was kind of obvious that he was going to have probably the best future of all of us. And he was funny, too. And nice-looking!
In short, that comment was dumb because people that show creativity, intelligence, ambition, and promise are really awesome. And I tend to ramble about past crushes. (I never did tell anyone except my parents about that.)
    It's all good, actually :D
Excessive amounts of sleep, the prospect of Christmas (I've put up decorations already!), the December Art-A-Thon starting tomorrow... it's fantastic.
And there's a bunch of essays that I should be doing, but I'm hoping that if I leave them for long enough, they'll write themselves.

    How's life with you?
I can see why. Hunting seems pretty needless in our civilization. But really, I rather everyone hunted instead of the conditions farmed animals have. Their whole lives exist only because of our need of their meat, often in terrible, crowded conditions. In the old days, chickens could at least roam, but now more efficient methods limit their freedom. If we could all do our part to have smaller, better-for-the-animal farms, that might be more susceptible to older problems but still produced decent food, it would do us some good. It would definitely cost more, but it's much better.
I have two different computers and on weekdays I can only go on Computer 1 and I'm not allowed to download or get new programs on that one.
I can only work on the picture on Sundays which really sucks. Weekdays=School and homework and no GIMP Saturday= Chinese school till 5pm and chinese homework Sunday= Only free day
I mean the sport where they use the dogs to chase the fox and stuff.
I think hunting might be cool for some people if you were hunting with a bow and arrow (extra challenge) and you ate what you killed. But most people hunt with a gun, which, while requiring skill, is too much of an advantage, in my opinion. I remember reading this autobiography about this man who loved to hunt with a bow and arrow (I think he liked it better than a gun because it didn't disrupt the forest or something). But it's not realistic...
