• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • Hi VM! Just popping in to see if you and LotF are ready to command in your double battle.
Yes. Some numbers in the database are incorrect because I think the base energy calculations were done from the base damage percentages back when we had that.
This has never been very clear, but the base energy for a powered-up Hex is supposed to scale according to the doubled base power, not be doubled itself. Like, it should be 8% (ceil(130 / 20) + 1) instead of just 6% (2 * 3%). Maybe now that we have a notes section I can go clarify that for all those moves without worrying about it being too lengthy for the summary.
Hi! Sorry for the late response, again. Here is the kanji list that I've been studying from and I think it's fairly thorough, but unfortunately the links that they use don't seem to work on my computer? (I do have the textbooks that go with the lists, though, so if you need anything from those you can just let me know.)

I know Anki has been used to great effect by other Japanese students, although I don't have any personal experience with it myself (here is a deck with most Kanji, I think? comments say that it doesn't include the basics, though, if I'm not mistaken.) This list looks trustworthy and thorough, and here is a web app that helps write Kanji though I don't know how good it is.

Most of the websites that I've found say that practice is key to learning Kanji, and I agree! If it's your learning style, you might find it helpful to just read and write the ones you're learning many times over a few days (or just read them if you don't need to write them) even if you can only do it in your head, or you could use pictographic mnemonics or make a chart with the meanings and readings. I've found that stroke order isn't too important in actual writing unless you're doing calligraphy or something, but it might be a good idea to learn it anyway? I don't really know.

If you're looking for general practice with kana too, Kana Attack is a neat game-based learning tool where you match romaji and hiragana/katakana (also it has a cute anime girl and you get to kill monsters.) It's good for practicing the basics and also the weird letter combinations that come up almost-never, I think!

Have fun on your trip, and let me know if you need anything else!
I've been eagerly awaiting Keldeo's answer which she has been NEGLECTING TO GIVE, so... if possible, maybe you could try to pirate my first-year Japanese textbook! It's called Genki I. I used to use a lot of flashcards on Anki to remember my Kanji as well. I think I'd just search up kanji and find some stuff and learn them from there, haha. Presumably you're not trying to learn to actually write them, so it's not like you need to pay attention to stroke order.
Who, me? I'm just a talking rabbit. You really think a talking rabbit is a real thing?
Hee hee! Lettuce say I am the... facilitator for this facility. Aren't I cute?
Thanatos, maybe? Speaking canon-wise, it's the main character's signature Persona, it starts at 69, has decent stats, and looks badass.

And don't worry lol, Persona 3 in general turns into a joke late-game, so if you want a self-imposed challenge try not using items or something
