• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • WHO CARES IF HE WAS SHOWN IN (12) PANELS

    HE LOVED MELLO

WHETHER HE WAS A MINOR CHARACTER OR NOT, HE WAS MOST POPULAR THAN BOTH NEAR AND MELLO PUT TOGETHER ONE GOT FIRST PLACE OVER LIGHT AND L IN THE POPULARITY POLLS AT ONE POINT
I'm trying to say that you should replace it and shouldn't have used bang-notation there in the first place because -- while it will probably be parsed the same -- it's incorrect and continues to degrade its original meaning. Why repeat misuse of something that is gradually changing to mean something else when there's nothing else that means what it originally meant?
I'm pretty sure the forwardslash is used for pairings to imply that it's a dong. It's also easier to read than AxB or namesmushes and doesn't require as much knowledge of the fandom as numbers or cutesy pairing names do, so.

No, it's not the same thing: first off, adjective!noun is completely redundant because you could just as easily use a space or a hyphen for it. Second, it's used to denote that something is off. CharacterA/CharacterB is a convention that is particularly useful because it's easier to read than the other options and, depending on the fandom, can also be used to summarize character relationships. (I'm thinking of Gundam here.)

There are no benefits to using "TCoD!jerks" over "TCoD-jerks" or even "jerks from TCoD" and it ignores where the convention started, so why use it?
The point is that it's no longer whatever's being defined. Draco is not romantic; if the character is romantic, it is not Draco.

Just because lots of people misuse something doesn't mean you should, too.
Yeah, see, "TCoD!jerks" means 'tcod not-jerks'. Exclamation points mean 'not'. That's the whole point of adjective!noun: it is not properly whatever the noun is. Goth!Hermione means that it is goth and not Hermione.

I can tell what you meant but that's not what it says.
Why does your signature say "STAND UP TO TYRANNY. TCOD!JERKS ARE LAME."? Why are TCOD not-jerks lame?
"Perhaps I'd eventually sadly decide that I must have imagined them, or something along those lines. :/"
Aha! Reading that ... only makes things more interesting!
Imagined them? Then what makes you? Real? Or just a imaginative figment? ;)
Cirrus, I did say that I made a faithful promise between us for me to fufill. You'll see!

    Enjoy.
I made this after you, using the Gaia Dream Avatar Generator.
