Well, it's not as if the differences begin and end with language. Most anglophone countries are former British colonies and thus use a legal system based on the ones that descend from British tradition (and, of course, that includes the British colony known as the UK). Nearly all the countries in the world, mine included, use legal systems that descend directly from ancient roman law. The resulting differences can be stark. (fun fact: I dunno how much spread beyond the US this has exactly, but, there is no such a thing as a "plea" in my country, much less a "plea bargain".)

Also, habeas corpus is a citizen's right to not be unlawfully imprisoned. Generally, you raise ruckus about that if you feel that you are being unlawfully imprisoned. Which is definitely not an unlikely thing around here, although it happens most often to people who wouldn't know what a habeas corpus is. (and that's not their fault, but feel free to take this as a jab directed towards yourself specifically anyway.)

Take a lucky guess as to which language is used in a course taught by public university in an officially Portuguese-speaking country. I mean, even if some of our Supreme Court judges are physically incapable of saying a full sentence that isn't at least half in German. (besides, in any legal doctrine that descends from ancient roman law, you'll be somewhat hard pressed to find obscure terms that aren't in latin. as a matter of fact, "fancy civil law term in latin" is practically a bis in idem.)

Hmm... common sense is that a Flung icicle would be Ice-type, but as far as I can tell no held item actually changes Fling's type, so I would lean toward ruling it as a Dark-type move regardless of what it's flinging.

It would work for now, but the icicles will melt pretty soon, so it won't work for long. If a Fire-type move is used (especially one like Heat Wave), the icicles will melt pretty much immediately.

p.s. uggggggh the cena battle is fighting-types only and I don't have any and off the top of my head I only really want a tyrogue or riolu but they're too expensive for me to buy

Incidentally, per the sample poison scale, does poison inflict its full 4%/round in the round that it's inflicted in, even if it wasn't inflicted in the first action, or does it just inflict damage as it normally would minus what it would have dealt in the actions that it wasn't present in?
