Actually it was originally thought to be 666 because they translated the Bible wrong, they found an earlier version of the Bible and found it to be 616.
Anyway, it's just a number the meaning of life not the doom number...

Anyway, about the 21-12-12 thing, I'm going to laugh so hard when the world doesn't end on that day and a whole bunch of people spend the day under their beds.

Young children who want to see if there is really a monster down there. If there is and it eats them, they were going to die that day anyway, so no big deal.
 
666 is the numerical for King Nero's name. Er, or 616. I can't remember, anyway, it's not Satan.

42. Never read the book, but I know its meaning. Maybe I'll hit the library later. Hmmm.
