Hmm, if you previously had a signature attribute on a Pokemon but no longer want it, could we have it removed by not posting it here?
Anyway, here is the signature attribute of my Absol, Kayne.
Signature Attribute: Mark of Kayne
Absol have been, and still are, one of the most misunderstood of Pokemon. Where-ever they go, they seem to bring some sort of natural calamity with them, ranging from tornadoes to earthquakes, from eruptions to tsunamis. Naturally, humans would want to get rid of a Pokemon capable of such cataclysmic effects.
Due to human industrialization, good, undisturbed land was hard to find, and Kayne’s pack was forced to settle near a small village. The wily creatures hid their presence well, avoiding detection for several years, but eventually food became scarce. Their territory simply could not support so many voracious predators. Ever the bold one, Kayne decided to raid the village. Stealthily he snuck into the heart of the village, keeping to the narrow, dark passageways, and eventually into the food storage. There, he snapped up a few hunks of meat for himself before closing his jaws around three chickens, which he intended to bring back to his family.
‘Intended’ is the key word.
At that moment, Kayne’s luck ran out, and a villager stumbled into the food storage. As soon as he saw the Absol he screamed and ran out, still screaming, to summon the rest of the village. Terrified, Kayne bolted, making a beeline for his territory. Humans streamed after him, each with some sort of deadly weapon, many with a Pokemon companion trailing after them. Kayne rushed towards his pack, grunting a loud warning (the chickens were still in his mouth), before doubling back and hiding behind a rock. Intent on the more numerous bunch in front of them, the villagers didn’t notice that their original target had disappeared, and fell upon Kayne’s pack. The solitary Absol watched, rapt with terror, as his pack was slaughtered.
When the deed was done, the villagers muttered and walked back to their settlement. Kayne took the opportunity to sprint out from behind his boulder and towards the opposite direction. He was out of range of anything the humans could throw at him – that was owed to his speed and head start – but the same couldn’t be said for the Pokemon. An old Mismagius, wise in the way of grudges and similar spells, chanted an ominous incantation; even though Kayne was a good distance away, he heard the words loud and clear. After a moment he felt a searing pain in his right thigh. His leg buckled and he collapsed to the ground. Whimpering with the agony, he twisted around to see what was ailing him, and found out that a black Mark had somehow been inscribed into his thigh.
After the incident, Kayne attempted to seek out and join other Absol packs, but they recoiled when they laid eyes on his Mark. In fact, all living things regarded him with hostile suspicion. He was forced to wander about, snatching what food he could. The Mark did have its uses, though; when he was in dire need, it would flash and lend him a rush of strange power, though he always felt incredibly worn out afterwards.
Effects: The Mark of Kayne does not allow Kayne to form strong, positive emotional bonds with others, and vice versa. Therefore, Attract and Captivate have been lost, and Return is always at 55 base power. Attraction will always start at moderate (30% chance of not attacking) whether it is from Cute Charm or Attract, and Captivate and Charm will only reduce the respective stats by one level.
When Kayne is in great danger (less than 25% health), the Mark will flash red before returning to its original colour. His eyes will glow a flat crimson, he will become surrounded with a faint but menacing black aura, and his shadow will writhe as if in pain. It will seem to grow larger, and the threatening physical features will be exaggerated: teeth will suddenly become four inches long, claws will be huge, curved, and wickedly sharp, and scythe will have jagged, serrated edges. The Mark will work weird effects on his body; he will become very aggressive, though some part of his mind will still be rational and he can comprehend commands as well as use non-offensive options. All attacks will do 2% more damage, though because Kayne’s head is so addled by the strange sensation he will not be able to concentrate long enough to imbue his attacks with the correct elemental energy; thus, all attacks will become typeless. Finally, the Mark has its side effects, and will ensure that Kayne will not stand much longer than his opponent. For every action Mark of Kayne is in effect, he will suffer 1% damage in addition to whatever damage he took that action.
Notes: Based off of the Mark of Cain.
