Liza watched as the boy walked away, eating fruit again. She had noticed him eating fruit before, a few minutes before, at least. He seemed to have an addiction to fruit. She shrugged and watched and it seemed no one else followed him.

'well, maybe he wants to go by hisself. They could have waited for everyone to make the descision that they all want to go.' Serenity said, scoffing. Liza sighed then thought to her, 'Well, at least I know Leon is going to go too.'

Aureus smirked back at Roddy. He would like this guy; he had a nice sense of humor.

Aureus practically flew across the ground silently, passing through houses and the Gym.

<Aur- listen to me for once. Why are you doing this?>
<Because I can, Nexie.>
<Gah.>

He ended up at the gate to the Tower beside Roddy, eventually tapping his foot to his own tune.

One, two, three; one, two, three, four; one, two, three...

"Reggie... are we seriously following them?"

Reginald paused midstep.

"This was your idea, wasn't it, Gary? That we go along with these Guardians to find out what they know? To see just how worthwhile this all was? Well, that's what I'm doing, like it or not."

"Reggie, you can't be going along with them just so you can kill that Aureus fellow's parents. That's immoral, and it wouldn't be doing any real good."

After a moment's thought, Reginald activated his control over gravity, negating gravity on enough of an extent that he rose into the air, and then began to move in a way that resembled gliding, except that there was nothing for him to glide on.

"I still don't trust this kid," Reginald dropped his voice to a whisper again, "even if this boy's parents had told him about these keys, I find it highly unlikely that they would have built this program to be perfect enough that any evidence of them could be hidden from anyone, myself especially."

"So why go along with them?"

"You might call it a win-win situation, Gary. Either I'm wrong, and I get to kill the people that imprisoned me in here, or I'm right. Simple as that."

He floated forward until he was right above the one with wings growing out of her head. He was keeping pace with her when Gary spoke.

"So it's either revenge, or pride, Reggie? How interesting. I keep forgetting how simple-minded you humans are."

Reginald gave a small smile. "So do I, Gary. So do I."

The lucario timidly introduced himself as Ayden. Really, that was alright- he wouldn't make a good companion if he couldn't even talk.

Now, now. Why are you so negative? Mary telepathed sadly, wishing that Savannah could understand that friends were important, and that in reality she was a dead tabunne, unable to play the games they once shared.

Because, I don't need that many friends, only a few. But if you wish, that glaceon morph seems good. The girl replied.

Her tabunne sighed. It was good enough, for now at least.

Savannah watched the discussion unfold with mild interest. The ninetales morph had bragged about how he had got her up at midnight; but that didn't make any difference to her. Night was good.

He had quietly denied saying it, but whatever. If he did or didn't, it made no difference.

Savannah highly approved when the... bronzong morph, maybe? said exactly what she was thinking. He might be a potential ally as well.

All in all, she agreed with almost all of their points against the ninetales, the dragonair's, chatot's, and bronzong's.

Then he made a massive claim that his parents coded naptime. Meh. She was still unsure what was so horrible about this supposedly horrid place. Sure, it was fake, but they were fake now. Or at least not natural.

He said they were going to the bell tower. Savannah reluctantly followed the ninetales and chatot, quickly arriving third.

She analyzed the chatot morph, who she believed was called Roddy. Perhaps she should approach him?

Another smirk. Did this Aureus kid think that he had won? That he, Rodolfo Kraus, was really on his side? In the Sound Guardian's mind conceit had replaced contempt for the Ninetails, now that his shameful history had been revealed. While it was still possible that he was just lying about this, it certainly put his motives into perspective in such a way that it could overcome even Chatot's lingering scepticism left over from the merge. Grinning back, noticing that their "leader" and several others were fast approaching, Roddy turned around and tried the door of the gatehouse.

*rumble* *rumble*

It was locked.

Rolling his eyes, Roddy turned and glanced back at the others in the group. Others not blessed with flight like himself, although there were also many that were. All of them had a power of some kind. So in the grand scheme of things - what barrier was a locked door, honestly? A thin construct of wood and metal? Until they reached the top of the tower, was it really going to be such easy pickings?

Facing the door once more, Roddy spread out his arms. Gesturing to the rest that he had something in mind, and not to come too close. Holding up a single hand, his arm began to shake and shudder slowly at first, but then violently, his hand nothing more than a blur as it resonated with sound. Reaching out, Roddy gripped the doorknob with his shaking hand, transferring the vibration energy to the door itself. Causing it to promptly shatter like glass and fall apart as it was shaken literally to pieces.

"Harrumph. Not to Jynx this whole affair, but are we to expect any other resistance from this place?"

He asked Aureus, reaching out and dropping the doorknob into his hands. Snapping his now unoccipied fingers and bouncing an echo through the open hole that was now the doorway. When the sound rebounded back to him, it was clear, which meant that it hadn't been interrupted by anything. There was no-one else inside the gatehouse.

"I'm sorry. But this whole place just has such an abandoned vibe to it. Realistically, what are the chances that it's not a trap of some sort? I say we need a scout."

Karae quickly found her attention distracted by the seemingly normal human that had suddenly started to float, and was now above her. Looking up, she stared at him in disbelief, her wings fluttering in vain. "You can fly?" she murmured, envy clear in her voice. To fly like that...

You will never be capable of it. Crushing weight around her neck, as if Dragonair was coiled around her neck and intending to crush her windpipe. She was used to the sensation, but it made her steps falter for a moment, and she quickly fixed her gaze on the Chatot-person in front of her, who waved to keep back. Stopping, she let her gaze wander back up to the person who was drifting along so easily, as if nothing held him down, no chains or whispers of hatred. Then the door shattered, and she quickly looked to the remnants of it. Somehow, he had destroyed it without any trouble, though considering what she knew she could do, if Dragonair let her, it wasn't really a surprise. He was asking for a scout, now, and she twitched her tail, mulling it over. But they had done nothing for her - why should she do anything for them? They didn't matter.

This whole mission - if it failed, she would survive, go on like before.

I will kill you... The rattling hiss of fury, and she felt ice invade her mind, searingly cold and making her flinch for a moment. She quickly lowered her head, trying to hide her reaction, but Dragonair was pleased that she could feel it, all the hatred and intent that burned and froze and burned again.

Elijah trailed after the group silently, mulling over everything he had heard. Well...if they got out, they'd get out, and that was that. No point in agonizing over all the little details, may as well just see what everyone planned on doing. If it looked like a pointless wild-goose hunt, well...he'd just leave. No big deal.

You would abandon them? Tempest asked.

I don't know any of them, and judging from what I've seen, they're all stuck-up psychos anyway.

So basically, they're like you?

Elijah laughed. Pretty much, though you know I've never gotten along with people like me.

True..

Elijah stopped as the chatot boy shattered the door, watching in disdain. Displays like that were often times pointless. Tempest tried to choke back his laughter.

You never think your displays are pointless!

Elijah mentally glared at Tempest. That's cuz they aren't, they entertain me.

Suuure.

Ayden reluctantly followed the rest of the group, yawning. As he waked, he looked towards the sky, and he realized he couldn't wait to escape from here. This place had been...decently boring. Sure, Aureus and Leon had been around sometimes to give him company, but other than that, he was left on his own to simply think, maybe wander around a bit. Out in the real world, there were so many more things to do, so many more places to see...

Wait, Ayden.

Ayden jumped, before he realized it was his Lucario's spirit.

"Oh. Hi, Luke."

...You've given me a name?

"If you don't mind."

...Whatever. Listen, are you sure this is a good idea? They may very well be leading you into a trap.

"I trust them. Enough to get us out of here, at least."

Trust? You trust them? Ayden could hear Luke laughing amusedly. Ayden didn't respond, as the chatot one shattered the door, and was now asking for a scout to step forward.

Don't even think about it.

"Why not? I can use my power and no one will see me."

You don't know what's in there. Wait for someone else to volunteer.

Ayden audibly growled, but he listened and didn't step forward. Better someone he didn't even know to get caught in the supposed trap than himself.

The chatot morph wanted a scout. Fair enough, but with his powers Savannah didn't see why he shouldn't go. Sure, she could project force fields, but that wouldn't help that much if it was a trap.

What to do, what to do... Savannah mused, wondering if anyone would step up. Perhaps someone with more appropriate powers than her.

The tabunne morph cleared her throat and said loudly, "Okay, people. If someone's going to scout, then we need appropriate powers. Chatot, if you want to lead this group, then you're going to need to help out. You seem to be able to control sound, and that would be a very good match for scouting. Now, if you don't wish to, then fine. I, personally, can create force fields. Now, that is good in a battle, but how will that help me scout? I can prevent myself from getting speared, yet I could easily plant one over you. If any of you can turn invisible, have extraordinary speed, walk through walls or anything of that nature, that power would be a good fit for this mission."

Savannah finished her speech and concentrated. She made a long, thin force field, looking quite scrawny yet able to deflect very strong attacks. the tabunne morph shaped it so that it would be a good fit for any volunteer.

"I have created a shield for anyone who wishes to go forward. If any others have a tangible power, then it might be a good idea to equip them with a gift of your own."

Savannah considered her speech. It probably wouldn't get her any allies, but it might get a volunteer, so that she would not have to do it herself.

Mary was, for once, satisfied with her friend's social skills. She did not want Savnnah-and by extention, herself, to be the first to go in there, especially if there were better choices available.

'Maybe, I should go. I can control electricity, so it might be better for me to go.' she thought. 'I'm not so sure...but it is you're choice...' said Serenity worridly. This would be dangerous if there was a trap set up, but Areus would tell us if there was a trap inside. "I guess I'll go. Seeing as no one else seems to want to." she said to the morph that created a force field. 'I hope you are right about this.' Serenity said quiter now.

Aureus smirked and accepted the doorknob. "Of course, Roddy."

He glanced at Savannah.

Sure, he could walk through walls- but only ones that weren't part of one of the Key's puzzles.

...but he wouldn't tell them that. Let them guess for themselves.

He swiftly glanced around and walked off towards the Tower, tossing the doorknob from hand to hand.

Aureus chuckled; they were taking way too long to decide such a simple matter.

As soon as the door opened, Jack realized he was heading in a wrong direction. He sighed, but then turned around and joined the group.

He slowly looked around, not at the morphs, but the plants, looking for something interesting. That's when he found something to push him into leaving.

The plants in the real world have amazing personalities, while these ones are dull and boring. They don't even smell right.

"Say, anything to look out for in there?" Jack asked aloud, still facing a little flower at the side of the road.

Danger...Ho-oh... the flower replied, causing Jack to sigh.

"Y'know, it would be nice if you didn't repeat everything... Can I talk to something else?"

Suddenly, an orange flower shot out of the ground like a vine and wrapped around his hand.

"Woah! Jack, how'd ya do that?" Nikin spoke up, but Jack was dazed."I..I Dunno..." Then the familiar soft voice of the plant spoke out.
Fire....Wind....Trial... Jack just blinked and turned to the others.

"Why are you guys still here!" He called out to the others, as if a flower curled around his hand was normal. "Can we just get up this tower already?"

Leon heard Aureus say he wanted scouts.

"Blade... Would you be okay with us scouting?"

<Better than just waiting around outside.>

"Alright, then"

Leon walked up to Aureus.
"I can control fire, so I could probably scout if you wanted me to."

'Well, well. It seems little Leon wants to be a scout too. I guess you too think alike.' Serenity said snickering. Liza blushed at this thought then said to Serenity, 'He is not little!' All she heard was silent snickering.

She walked up to Aureus and Leon. "I could be a scout too. I do control electricity..." she said snapping her fingers and a small electrical spark shot out. She could do more, but she didn't want to zap anyone. 'You know, if it rans you're power will be uncontrolable.' Serenity said with a serious note in her tone.

Savannah smiled. Her speech had gotten some people to volunteer. Turns out it wasn't totally wasteful after all.

In fact, Leon had volunteered as well. Since she knew him a little more than the electrokinetic umbreon morph, she walked over to him once more, sizing him up and determining about how big to make her force field. He was pretty tall, so the tabunne morph made another force field that was green and slightly bigger than the last one. She stretched it out and handed it to him.

"Hello, Leon," She said formally. "Here is your force field. To apply it over yourself, and you need to do that for it to move along with you, all you need to do is stretch it out over your body and it will sink in. It will leave a glow."

Savannah picked up the first force field she made, stretching it over herself. It appeared to sink into her skin and left a pink glow emanating from her.

"It seems gone, but it's not. You will continue glowing and you'll skin will feel like elastic until it is destroyed or taken off," She explained. Peeling the shield off her and folding it up, she put it in her pocket and turned over to the umbreon girl.

"Did you hear what I said? Here is your force field," The tabunne morph said. She concentrated once more and made a yellow force field for the electrokinetic girl, then handed it to her.

"If you have any questions just ask me," Savannah said, addressing both recipients.

"Thanks." Liza said and put it on. It did seem like elastic, all stretchy and the like. It made her body glow a yellow color and when she rubbed her skin it still felt as though it was elastic and stretchy. it didn' seem as though it affected her body temeprature. "So, will our powers be able to go through this, and how will it be destroyed?" she asked her.

Reginald seemed surprised that the head-winged girl was sounded jealous at his semblance of flying.

"I wouldn't call it 'flying' so much as I would call it 'pinpoint manipulation of the laws of gravity,'" Gary said as Reginald floated to the ground, "it took him some time to figure out the right amount of gravity to use-"

"Quiet," Reginald cut his Bronzong off, "Why do you sound jealous of this ability? You have wings, which must count for something, right? Does your power specifically keep you from flying properly?"

Before the girl could give any answer, the scuffle over scouting ahead began among the group, and soon resolved itself. Reginald's expression remained neutral during the entire thing, but on the inside, his expression was much different:

He certainly was happy about how the group was already squabbling over such a simple matter as who would be going in first. Was it because they were cowards, he wondered, or were they simply that dysfunctional?

Reginald would be fine with either answer.

"You're welcome," Savannah replied, smiling.

"I'm not exactly sure about the powers, to be honest," Savannah said. "I only have force field projection, and I kept to myself for a while, so I haven't tested that out. See for yourself. However, my power worked, making a force field while protected by a force field, but it might be different for you two. It's destroyed by taking enough damage, like getting flamethrower used on you repeatedly or something. If you want more specific than that, if someone swings an axe at you, it will bounce off and you will be unharmed. If you get electrified, it might damage the force field, but you will not be hurt. On how it works, it's pure energy, which shields you and bounces off physical attacks. Once it is destroyed, it will just disappear, like lightning. Also, if there's wind, it will pass right by you. It won't harm the shield."

The tabunne morph took a much needed breath. She hadn't gone fast, but she didn't stop to breath once after she explained that she didn't know whether their powers would work. Did I miss anything? Savannah wondered, thinking about what she just said. That just about covered it, she thought.

A pyrokinetic, an electrokinetic, and a girl with the ability to project forcefields. While no-one in the group seemed particularly secretive with their powers, Roddy allowed himself a small smile at how easy it had been to goad several of them into revealing the exact nature of theirs. Certainly, his words had made more of an impact than he suspected. Especially towards one in particular.

"And what about for me?" He asked the Tabunne, who's indignation towards his casual remark had been both insulting and intriguing at the same time. She'd called him Chatot, which while accurate, was a nickname that insulted him on a personally private level. And he was tempted to lash out against her, were it not for the thought that a personal force field could come in quite handy. "I simply suggested that to send scouts would be a wise manoeuvre. I never said that I wouldn't volunteer to be one."

Folding his arms, accusing her of misjudging him, Roddy glanced over at the one who was supposedly in charge around here. The Ninetails who had just walked away, practically abandoning the group. Food for thought - perhaps he lacked confidence? Considering that his primary motivation was most likely guilt, it wasn't an unreasonable guess. And so the responsibility seemed to fall upon him to "speak out" and take charge. And so it seemed, the yet unnamed Tabunne, who also had no qualms expressing her views openly and loudly. In a strange sort of way, her critical and challenging attitude was almost charming.

"I've already taken the liberty of checking the radar, if that analogy makes sense to you, although perhaps you could help me further?" Roddy suggested, his tone neutral and formal, unlike the cynical and mocking one he used to speak to Aureus. Viewing the Tabunne as a far more intellectually worthy opponent. "Tell me, would it be possible for you to shape one of these forcefields? Say for example, into the form of a hollow cylinder, tapered at one end slightly?" Put bluntly, he was asking her to make a shape akin to a satellite dish, or a megaphone. If she could create such objects, then her power might yet have some useful applications combined with his own. "If so, then I do believe my already considerable range could be amplified."

It was perhaps the second instace of proposed teamwork among the members of the group so far, and it made Roddy's ego swell to consider the fact that he had set them both in motion. Before they could go on however, there remained yet one more matter to be settled. One in which he would accept no compromise.

"But please, I thought I made it clear - you'll call me Roddy, and nothing else! Thank you very much!"

He shouted to the Tabunne in particular, although it was just as much warning to the rest of them as it was towards her.
