Umbra, first Psychic the Toxic Orb out the Breloom's possession, throwing it off the arena. If he is insistent on keeping it, though, introduce him to the void. If Mars is Protecting/ you are somehow unable to Psychic the Orb, Flame Charge at the Charmeleon instead. After that, just span Flame Blast at Mars- or, if he Protects/ect, then Shadow Ball the Charmeleon.

Status: Starting to question what actually resides below the field

All four Pokemon assumed positions corresponding to their allegiances. To one side stood Mars the Breloom; strongest of the bunch if one uses evolutionary growth as a scale. Beside stood the much smaller, and yet just as hopeful Xena the Charmander, eying her opponents mischievously. On the other side a rare, type morphed Taillow stood ready to attack, flanked by the silent Umbra, who displayed no emotion. After settling a few minor disputes over rules and the like, the referee waved his flags and the round began.

Mars quickly produced a dark and ancient energy that surrounded him faster than an attack of normal speed. The energy formed itself into a dark coating, an aura, that kgave the Breloom a sickly purple shade. The fungal creature took up a non-moving position, and waited for his opponents to make a move. On the other side of the field, the black Taillow was not perturbed at all. She was perfectly fine with her opponents not attacking her. With a flutter of her wings the Taillow took to the air, flew back behind Umbra, and began to beat her feathers ferociously, generating a strong wind that blew from behind her team, giving them a consequential boost in speed. Or at least she thought so. As she flew back to her original position, she felt the wind die down immediately. Curious, she looked over at her opponents. The dark energy was seeping away from Mars now, and amazingly enough seemed to be absorbing the wind, and releasing it behind her enemies. The energy disappeared from around Mars as he crossed his arms smugly.

Xena now felt truly alive with the wind behind her. Normally of average speed, she relished the opportunity to zip ahead of even the agile Taillow across from her. She was eager to start inflicting damage. But first, strategies had to be adopted. As much as she didn’t want to do it, she turned to her own partner, and began to cough violently. Trying to vomit up the last remains of her lunch was not exactly fun, especially when it was most likely going to hinder her partner. Finally she produced a glob of purple goop from her stomach, and spat it unceremoniously at her partner. Apparently it was a bit too unceremonious, as she failed to focus at all on the target of her attack. With a whooshing noise the glob flew dangerously close to her Breloom partner, but ended up just missing, careening into the abyss behind him. Xena was secretly happy that she hadn’t angered her partner, but she wondered how this would affect her strategy. Mars however, was quite mad at his partner, though he realized that as he still had his Toxic Orb it didn’t matter that much. Almost as if to add insult to injury however, he cringed as the orb flew straight out of his hands, following the same path as the toxic blob. He looked over murderously at his enemies, and saw the Lampent still wrapped in psychic energy. He growled as he realized what Umbra had done, and swore revenge.

Luckily, with the Tailwind still in effect, revenge would be swift. Eager to move again, Mars released a cloud of infinitesimally small spores that appeared almost as if they were a smudge on reality. The spores meandered their way towards Katniss, where the bird tried to bat them away with her wings, to no avail. The spores seeped into her beak, and she quickly began to fall drowsy. She fell to the ground in a mess of feathers, and quickly fell into a deep slumber, snoring in a way that could be defined as “cute”. Xena did not find it cute at all however, and planned to inflict as much pain as possible while her opponent was in this state. With unneeded melodrama, the Charmander stomped down on the floor, expecting rocks to be conjured instantaneously. No rocks appeared. Xena tried again with the same result. She realized at this point that her attempts were quite futile, understandably. They were on a platform with who knows what below them, and no stone in sight. She grumbled angrily at the problematic straightforwardness of her commands. Umbra however, was not mad at all, as he had done exactly what was expected of him so far, and he hoped to continue doing it. The fire within him began to intensify and grow, threatening to burst out of its glass cage. The Lampent released some of this energy in the form of a fiery projectile that performed as a heat-seeking missile going straight for Mars. The firebomb struck powerfully, causing the Breloom to screech slightly as he was driven pack from his place. He quickly moved up beside the small crater where he had previously stood, not wanting to be that close to the edge. Xena was also not happy, as a small bit of debris from the blast had decided that her face made a great target.

Mars, though mad that he was now slightly singed, had consolation in the fact that he could now put that dreaded Lampent to sleep. Life earlier in the round he produced a think cloud of sleep-inducing spores, which now made their way over to Umbra. The Lampent was far too slow to try and dodge the plant matter, and could not stop himself from falling into a deep slumber. The fire within him died down almost completely, only flickering slightly, as he fell over onto an angle, no longer suspended by psychic forces. Both members of team Green Sun were now not able to attack at all, which was pleasing to the more damaged members of Team Battle of Leuven. Xena however, was not happy, as she had no conventional ways of attacking left to her. In a last ditch effort she ran forward haphazardly at Umbra, trying to inflict some sort of damage to him. She began wakcing the small glass case holding the flame, not doing much, almost hurting herself more in the process. However, as she backed away she felt slightly better, as she had actually done something. Seeing that neither Umbra nor Katniss were going to move, Denryu waved his flags to signify the end of the round.

Ok Mars, begin with a Stun Spore on that Taillow, then follow with a pair of Thunderpunches. If the Lampent wakes up and tries to Trick Room, Spore him again, unless you would somehow be prevented to do so, in which case use Thunderpunch. If your target Protects / Detects, use Swords Dance.

Mars now realized that the slow, yet helpful wind from behind him was starting to die down, so he knew that this was most likely his last action in which he would have a speed advantage over Katniss. And he planned to make his vengeance felt. Once again he released a cloud of infective spores, though these ones were much larger, and sparkled with a golden sheen. They lumbered towards Katnisss, at a pace that would normally be quite avoidable, but the Taillow couldn’t do much at the moment. The spores sunk into her feathers, and caused her to tighten up considerably in her sleep. Xena meanwhile, was also aware that her speed trip was slowly diminishing, though she was not instructed to attack her opponents at all. Instead she waddled over as close to Mars as she could get with out entering the “awkward” distance. Here she began to cough and spit up a delectable glob of toxic waste, very similar to the one before. This time however, she made extra sure that the blob made contact with Mars. Instead of seeping into his skin and causing a spiky pain, the toxic poison worked almost as a moisturizer, slowly melting its way into the Breloom’s immune system, working as a natural painkiller.

Katniss the Taillow was still fast asleep, but her subconscious had registered the command given by her trainer, and as such she began to involuntarily murmur, unbeknownst to the other three Pokemon on the field. Soon she did catch the attention of Mars and Xena, as she had begun to shine a light blue colour. The cyan aura was soothing to the eyes, and as it turned out, very soothing to Katniss herself. Alertly she popped open one eye, then the next, feeling quite refreshed all of a sudden. She hopped up onto her legs and resumed a fighting position once more, annoying her two opponents greatly. Though personally Katniss was unawares, the paralyzing spores that had infiltrated her had effectively been neutralized, leaving Mars work almost completely useless. Umbra meanwhile continued to sleep on, recovering energy as he did so, readying himself for the battle that would surely intensify once he woke.

With the wind completely dieing on Leuven’s side of the field, Katniss was able to quickly fly up into the air, making it known that she could avoid any attacks being thrown at her. Assuming a suitable height, she began to beat her wings rapidly, generating a much stronger wind than what had been exemplified with her stolen Tailwind. From her vantage point it was a bit harder to aim, but with one last flurry of her wings, she sent the wind rocket straight at Mars. The projectile was almost perfectly aimed, and the strong gust slammed into the Breloom powerfully. Pushed back hard near the edge of the platform once more, Mars had to rush back to his original position to prevent teetering over the edge. He was getting quite tired of getting hit so hard, yet sadly there wasn’t much he could do. He was supposed to be attacking her with a vicious Thunderpunch right now, but she was way too far away to do anything. She wasn’t protecting herself either per say, as she was way out in the open. Succumbing to his uselessness, he decided that yelling a few Pokemon insults at the bird would do just fine. The Taillow was unperturbed.

Xena was graced with the ability to attack just fine, and she planned to take advantage of it. Eying the still sleeping Lampent, Xena began to encase her mandibles in a dark and evil magic, making them appear violet to the other members of the field, the ones who were awake anyway. Her fangs also grew to a frightening size, making her appear as some horrific, nightmare-inducing, dragon-demon hybrid. Liking this image, the Charmander ran forward mouth open wide and suck her vicious teeth into the poor sleeping Lampent. Ignoring the taste, she sunk her teeth deep into the “skin” of Umbra, causing small burns from the dark energy to appear. As she continued to inflict the ridiculous pain the Lampent woke up, let out a telepathic screech, and spun around slightly to dislodge Xena. The dark energy disappeared from around her teeth, yet she still grinned, her job completed. Umbra also had a job to do, but his involved the whiny Breloom who wouldn’t stop shouting at her partner. How good would increasing his predicament sound? Umbra extended his telekinetic powers towards the unaware Breloom and gave him a slight tug. At first Mars continued to swear at the Taillow, but as he felt his feet starting to rise he cut himself off. Looking down he whimpered slightly, then decided what better to do than yell at the Lampent now. Utterly at a loss for anything to say to an emotionless ghost, he decided that some of his less witty insults would work well.

Katniss was quite content with her position, even if that Breloom would not shut his trap. She supposed he had nothing better to do, suspended in the air, no command options, even struggling not a possibility. With the aid of her partner she did not need to worry about aiming her next Air Slash, so she simply released the gust of wind without a care in the world. Umbra moved the Breloom over slightly, letting him get hit by the full brunt of the attack. The only consolation for the struggling Mars was that he had no chance to fall off the edge of the mysterious platform. The action then switched to Xena, as Mars had already given up on the round. She once again made her teeth grow grotesquely using dark energy, and charged forward at the silent Umbra. The small incisions she had left in her last trip over to Umbra’s corner helped increase the damage she inflicted, causing the Lampent to squeeze his eyes shut in fright. Finally, it was Umbra’s turn to make a move. He began to prepare a very taxing fire-type attack, causing the flame within him to burn as bright as possible. Normally attacks like these left the opponent many opportunities to dodge out of the way, but in his current state Mars could do nothing to avoid the incoming wrath. With a burst of energy Mars exploded in bright red flames. The Breloom screamed as the fire caused his skin to burn severely. The blaze only lasted a few seconds, but as it died down Mars could still feel the unbearable pain all over his tender body. His form had taken on a reddish tinge, and when he moved he could feel his muscles scream in resistance. Finally, he decided he could stay silent for the time being as he tried to let the poison coursing through his body heal his wounds.

-Mars could literally do nothing on the last two actions
-The first Crunch lowered Umbra’s Defense
-Thank goodness for Damage Caps, or Mars would have taken 50% damage this round

Anyway, stay up in the air for the whole round so you can avoid any other spore-y attacks, and toss two Air Slashes at Mars, then fling one at Xena. If one protects/detects or otherwise is unattackable, switch targets. If you cannot attack either of them for any reason, Work Up.
