Open Dreams of the Past

Zrantox, despite the fact that several rocks were pinning him down, managed to find enough energy to turn transparent and float through them, before returning to normal.

He glaned at the human and the Mightyena. He knew that he could take down the human and flee from the dark-type easily.

And yet...

The time cannot be now he thought, I need to reconsider everything.

And with that, he flaoted out of the building.

Qua stirred.

It was his tail slowly waving back and forth. He made a low growl before opening his eyes.

The Tyranitar stood up and looked around. He spotted the human with the Mightyena and looked down at her.

"Zrantox wants to destroy all humans," he said. "Even the ones who did nothing to him."

He looked in the direction that he thought Zrantox had just left.

"One day... you will die."

THe Dusknoir floated through the run-down city, staying out of sight.

What does... this mean?

He ahd sworn vengeance agains tthe humans... btu in his youht, one saved his life.

Maybe... maybe not all are savage.

That was one, though. One out of millions. One saved your life... but countless more ruined it.

So... what?

If I choose not to kill those who have wronged me... for waht reason am I here?

Skaldia growled, seemingly at everyone in the building. "Of course he will die. We will kill him!" She didn't even know why she wanted to fight the Dusknoir; she just... did. "I hope you're happy, whoever attacked with Explosion. Most of the humans are dead." she added, voice harsh, as she turned to walk outside. The Aerodactyl was in quite a bad mood by now, and if she had to walk out of this miserable place, well, there would be blood. Noticing a Venusaur nearby, she tilted her head and edged away fro, it a bit. "What do you want?"

Seed blinked. He hadn't noticed that there was an Aerodactyl around. The Ivysaur blinked agian and stood up straight. Twitter chirped a hello to the Aerodactyl.

"I'm Seed. I'm just here to see what's going on. No need to edge away, I don't bite. Twitter pecks, but I'll keep him in check." Seed shook himself a bit, the Pidgey taking flight so that it wouldn't be thrown off.

"You.. you came out of that building, right? May I ask what's going on in there?" He tried to sound as polite and non-threatening as possible. A grown Aerodactyl could prove trouble if she attacked..

Skaldia glowered at him. "Oh, I can tell you a lot, but you wouldn't believe me. There are some dead humans, and maybe a few live ones inside, as well as a Tyranitar, a Mightyena and a conscious human." Shaking her head, she bared her fangs and kept walking. "There might be a Solrock as well... Ask him about the sleepers if you want to know." Oh, how informative.

Pain still shot through her wing when she moved, not to mention how battered she was from crashing, and the explosion, and who knew what else. This was not a good day. Or - well, how long had it been? She couldn't remember at all. Eyes narrowing, the Aerodactyl shot an irritated glance at the Venusaur and the Pidgey. What did they know? "Just keep out of my way. I'm not in the mood to deal with anyone right now." And then, added in a slightly lower growl, "Stupid Mourmedy. And that cursed Dusknoir. And why did I ever get Lance to train anyway?" It seemed she was going to bear a lot of grudges.

Seed nodded his head in respect.

"I am sorry if I irritated you. I'll leave you alone now." He said, then started to walk into the building.

"Sheesh, what a grouchy-tail!" Twitter chirped, rather loudly. Seed growled and looked into the hatchling's eyes.

"Twitter, go back to your nest. I bet your parents are worried."

"Oh, yeah! They wanted me back about.... four hours ago, I think!" The Pidgey flew back to his nest, leaving Seed to wonder about how paranoid the Tiny Bird Pokemon's parents must be. He took a step inside the building, hoping there'd be a slighty nicer Pokemon in here.

Sinar, told to keep watch over the slumbering Pokemon, alerted itself to the new presence. It turned to see it. An Ivysaur, with strange coloration. Sinar questioned it, Who are you...?

Zrantox didn't know how long he'd been floating through the run-down city.

If my purpose is questioned by what I saw... why am I here now? What can I do?

He spotted something moving in a nearby alley. Well, perhaps moving wasn't the best choice of word. It was barely moving at all, clearly it was something that was clingling to life.

Flaoting over to it, the Dusknoir realized that it was a massive creature. It was slumped over, next to the back of the alley wall.

"Hmm. It seems that I have a visitor. THe first visitor I've had in quite some time."

(Next time I'll post, I'll have those forms, okay? Also, when's Lance set to make his appearance? ;;Eager;;)

Mourmedy's body was still shaking rather frantically. She looked cold.... as if an immense cold and bitter frost had gripped her.

Charcill gazed at her, mildly concerned, but mostly just curious. Concern, for the most part, was something she just pretended to feel. She was never concerned, because she just didn't care. Her emotions... the doctors had told her... they were far too primitive.

Atnura watched the odd woman in mild disgust and at the same time, fear. Why did Charcill have to drag them there...? It was clearly none of their business. But Charcill had a tendency of sticking her nose where it didn't belong.

"Who's Mourmedy...?" Her spectacled eyes looked at the Aerodactyl with interest, the name Lance also caught her attention. Yes... she had heard much of him.

(Er, I suppose he could enter when Skaldia goes back to Union Cave? She's heading in that direction anyway)

Skaldia by now was far enough to pretend she hadn't heard the question, walking clumsily. Aerodactyl talons were meant for roosting, for slashing at prey and everything but the ground. So walking anywhere would be both painful and humiliating - that is, if something didn't decide to finish her off first. But she couldn't ask for help. Oh no - the damage that would be done to her non-existent reputation! Growling, she might as well have asked the heavens to make her trip - she looked like she was about to anyway. Oh, the fun she'd have until her wing healed.

Union Cave. It wasn't her home, but visiting where she had once lived would be too painful. Better to sit around in a cave, feasting on Zubat, until her strength came back. And where the sleeping chambers were... No, she wouldn't go there. Making her stumbling way through the city was bad enough without thinking of having no purpose besides hunting and sleeping. Oh, curse it. Damn Lance, and Mourmedy, and why not throw all those other Pokemon into it too! She just focused on getting as far away from Mourmedy and the rest as possible. She would get there. Soon.

Judging the time by the sun, Sinar headed back, before the sun started setting and it's downtime started. Back to what the locals called Union Cave, that is. Hopefully Sinar's crater was still intact-ish. That was about the closest thing Sinar had to a home, though it didn't really attach sentimental value to things. It coasted out of the building and rapidly floated out of the city and back to the cave. Along the way, Sinar floated past the Aerodactyl, who had obviously seen better days. However much helping her would be within Sinar's interests, that was rather difficult, with no limbs or healing powers or any of that. It slowed down a bit, as if to show the way to Union Cave, but kept a good pace nonetheless.

(Behold the long insane post of five characters.)

...There was something... something he had to do...

Something... something...

He stirred for a moment, his delicate state of mind disrupted. So at peace... there was nothing to worry about, nothing to think of. His thoughts were blank, like a clear surface of a lake, untouched.

And then there was a ripple across the water's surface.

He shivered.

In that minor movement, in that miniscule shiver came a burst... a burst of sudden thoughts. There was something he was supposed to be doing. It was something important.

Gah, what was he doing?!

The True Champion's dark eyes opened abruptly. His body felt so... so numb...

His eyes observed the area carefully, it seemed as if the chambers were empty. Demolished. There was nothing, absolutely nothing remaining but wreckage.

The chambers!

He struggled, trying to move his limbs several times, but with little success. This would... this would take some work.

-----------

She continued to lie on the cold glass window, crying, and still seeing Rasu and Atticus without even opening her eyes. Their faces mocked her... they laughed, they jested.

Bah! Why... why...? Mourmedy was supposed to be the great... the powerful leader... so composed... so perfect...

Yes.

What was that... that odd voice?

You are supposed to be perfect. How can you let those fools bring out your imperfect?

She looked up, the tears still staining her face. A small orb of a seemingly dark energy was floating in front of her... But she didn't wonder, nor did she care what it was. It was irrelevant. All she cared about were Rasu and Atticus... they were... they were her friends.

And how can someone perfect like yourself need friends? You are capable of working alone. Quite capable. In fact, all the greatest leaders have no friends. They merely lead theit subjects, without emotional attachment...

Yes... perhaps the odd orb was making sense after all.

Cease this silliness. Don't cry. Get even. Show them... show them that they can't mess around with you and get away with it.

She nodded. The voice... it seemed so compelling... it was as if it knew her thoughts. So comforting was it, so helpful. In the back of her mind, she knew it was something foreign... something that didn't belong. Yet it was so welcoming, so warm. The energy enaminating off of the dark orb... she wanted to embrace it.

Awaken and show them your true destiny.

------------

Charcill and Atnura watched in astonishment as the woman's body suddenly stopped shaking...

The eyes flicked open.

Slowly she got up, dusting off her jacket. The three of them gazed at each other for a moment, but she didn't seem to take much notice of them. Silently without so much as a word to them, she walked over to a large shining object and picked it up. It looked to Charcill like some sort of weapon...

The woman gazed down at the body of the dead Rasu.

Even Charcill was lost for words for once. Something that threw Atnura even more off-track, usually the girl always had some blunt comment to make or careless question to ask.

Charcill could feel the significance of this moment. It wasn't the time to talk.

"Strange? Why do you not get visitors?"

"My kidn aren't well appreciated, friend." THe being said, and it was only then that Zrantox now realized was a pokemon. "Which begs the question: Why are you here?"

Zrantox let out an exhausted sigh. "Truth to be told, I know longer know. I thought that my reason to live was to destroy those who have wronged me, but now... Now, I'm no longer sure."

'What could have changed that? If they've wronged you, then don't they deserve to die?"

"I know, I know. But... not all of them have wronged me like this," Zrantox said, "One of them saved my life."

"Ah," The pokemon said, at which point it got up, and Zrantox recognized the faint outline of a Tyranitar.

But this one's not trying to kill me... yet.

"You have a clash of values, then," It said, "You don't know if you should go with what has been driving you for all this time, or go with what you learned once happened."

"I say, my confused friend, that you call it even. If they've wronged you, but also saved your life, then what more is there to consider?"

"Yes, but..." Zrantox hesitated. "Waht do I do after that?"

The Tyranitar began to walk into a hole in the wall behind him. He turned around to say: "Simple. What you think is right."

And witht hat, it wlaked away.

What I think is right...

Zrantox suddenly knew what he had to do.

Skaldia hissed at the Solrock, now having found someone to take out her grievances on. Oh joy, now she could actually insult someone. Turning on the unfortunate Sinar, who was floating a few feet in front of her and going faster than her, the Aerodactyl bared her fangs. "You! You were the one who opened the chambers, who used that Explosion -" Even though she hadn't been hurt by it... "And you're just floating away, as if nothing has happened!" Oh, she was angry. Not that she could do much in her state, but as long as he knew how messed up her life would be now.

"All I can look forward to is hunting, sleeping, and hunting again! I was trained to fight! Fighting is my life, and now I can't go near a human without being blasted!" Eyes blazing, she advanced awkwardly, spreading her good wing and looking as if she was plotting murder. "Why did you let us out?" Well, if he hadn't, she would be starving in the chamber, and not even she could eat all her hopes and dreams of fighting at the Champion's side. Still, this existance wasn't much better. She suddenly stopped, head tilting. There had been this familiar - what was it? Like a stray shred of scent, but it had been so faint... She didn't have that good a sense of smell anyway. Shrugging it off, she focused on Sinar again.

Qua growled deep in his throat. Zrantox was wrong... killing humans whom had done nothing bad towards him, and barely knew he even existed? The thought was irritating. He lumbered outside, the opposite way that Zrantox had gone out, but vowed to find his enemy. His rocky skin had a few scrapes on it, but it was stained with none of the Tyranitar's blood. He continued on, out of the city and towards the forest. Perhaps he could find a crag or bluff in which to live... but he would always be chasing Zrantox.

Always.

I don't know for sure. Something, someone told me to. A guiding force that, I suppose, grants purpose to my life., Sinar responded.
You did it for the good of everyone!, a bubbly high-pitched voice rang out in Sinar's mind.
Good... of everything?, Sinar thought.
Well sure! They don't realize it now, but I'm sure those sleeping Pokemon are just what we need when someone takes things too far., the voice returned.
Who... are you?, Sinar thought.
Teehee. I'm Mew!, the voice, Mew, retorted, How about you go back to the cave and I can explain!
Luckily, I was headed in that direction., Sinar returned. And with that, it kept on going back to Union Cave.

Ancea finally was allowed to wander outside. But she didn't recognize this place... it definitely didn't look like Pewter City. Then she noticed that she had been let out a different way that she had come in; maybe it was an outside extension of some sort. It was sandy, with tropical trees and a large pond in the middle. Surrounding the large enclosure was tough, expensive-looking fence; even Ancea, with her obsidian scythes, could barely scratch it. When she turned to the scientist who had brought her here, he was already back inside the museum.
Ancea's leg had a cast on it, but it was still painful, and she couldn't move it. She couldn't believe that her, a mighty, proud Kabutops, had fallen and broken her leg. She was stronger than this!
Frustrated, she knocked her head against the fence and began slashing at it repeatedly.
"You can't get through the fence," a voice said behind her. She swiveled around, and met with the eyes of a huge Armaldo; he was almost six feet tall, much bigger than average, as far as Ancea knew.
"Don't waste your energy," he told her. His glare was sharp, and his body was hard and muscular, but his tone was friendly, which told Ancea that everything would be all right. "Let me show you around this place." He placed one of his claws around Ancea and began to walk with her. "It's rather simple, but it's luxurious; a nice place to stay, especially if you have nowhere else. The pond is salty and deep, the kind we were used to back before humans came. It has a good supply of fish in it, and there are so many kinds that it's likely that you'll never get bored with a single flavor. Magikarp, Goldeen, Finneon, even Poliwag... you name it, it's in there."
