My dad got me an early Christmas present~ A guitar! Now I can live up to my family name and get playing. xD

It's a Yamaha Pacifica (left-handed), natural. I love strats, so I'm glad he got me a nice-shaped one. 8D I love the left-handed books I got, it's full of lefty bitterness (Famous Lefties page, plus little comments like 'HERE'S A BEETHOVEN COMPOSITION - By the way, Beethoven was left-handed. :D'

Fun Fact: Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath played left-handed with altered strings.

That is one nice guitar. I got mine last year. It's a Fender Telecaster [I think], Its Black, with a white, shiny scratchplate. Most of the strings have lasted me the year, but the 1st and 3rd strings snapped earlier this year. I now realise that I should be changing them once every two months. :D

Anyway, did you get an amp and stuff with it?

Mainly self-taught. My dad and my brother have taught me some really simple stuff, but what with my dad living away in Germany, and my brother being God knows where, plus both of them playing right-handedly means it's really irritating trying to see their hands upside down and flipped and backwards in order to know what they're doing. XD

Definitely not paid lessons, mum doesn't have enough money. Although I would love them. ;_;

Same here~ When I try right-handed my fingers just budge up and don't move. XD Selfish gits. Would have been WAY more convenient if they'd let me play that way...

Nah, it still has thinnest string (yeah I don't actually know its name. E? XD) nearest the floor. Unless right-handed guitars don't actually have that.

Ooh, my dad has a black Telecaster. 8D His favourite~ Ugh, I don't like the sound of having to constantly get new strings... hopefully mine will be lucky strings that don't break for a year. *crosses fingers*

@ Cirrus: The thinnest one is commonly known as the sixth string, the note can be altered. In standard it's E.
