-The economy (threatens a good part of human development)
-The energy crisis (threatens almost all of human development)
-Most of the wars going on at the moment.

i think that in the case of the "OctoMom", then yes, having kids IS selfish, but on any other natural, innocent case, then no. not at all.

The reason people brought up her is because that's an example of having kids for a selfish reason. Apparently the ability to pump yourself full of fertility drugs and reproduce LIKE ANY OTHER FUCKING WOMAN ON THE PLANET is enough to get you rich and famous thanks to that show on TLC no one gives a shit about. It's exploiting children to get money.

I understand your anger towards her, but there are lots of women who can only have (normal amounts of) children using fertility treatment - especially older women, who tend to be the ones who've waited 'till they're financially secure enough to raise their kids properly.

I have nothing against fertility treatments and understand that they do have a use. It's the women who abuse them that get on my nerves. Or rather, women who simply happen to have a multiple birth from them and begin to exploit that for money and fame even though the only talent they have is a functioning uterus. Either way, it's bullshit.

I was talking about both Suleman and Kate from that TLC show, who didn't intend to have multiples but took advantage of them anyway. Both fall under the same general principle.
