Closed Look Good, Boogie Down, Strut Your Stuff: A Super Contest RP!

Edward sauntered along behind Keira, though still paying attention to the tour. "Got all this, Starr?"

The bird on his shoulder made a noise that sounded like a purr.
 
((I might have changed already, but ah well.))
I followed Keira into the stage room, then got changed into my Lucario costume.
When I emerged, Safira was waiting for me. "Ready for your first contest?"
"Sure am, Aria."
"Remember our strategy?"
"Yup."
"Let's get going then." I turned my head to Dexter, waiting for him to say something.
 
After a few minutes, I could see Keira and Dexter conferring with each other from the entrance tunnel. While I knew this was just a rehearsal, I was worried Lita wouldn't think so.

"Remember, this is just practice, okay?" I told Lita. She nodded to show she understood.

Keira arrived and began counting us off into groups of four. "Once you've made your practice introduction, you can take a seat up in the front rows."

"I'm ready for the first group." I heard Dexter say...and then it hit me: I was first in line.

I showed Lita where she was to wait until I announced her, then made a beeline to the stage while the lights were down.

I took a deep breath and slipped into character. "Ladies and gentlemen! I am proud to introduce you to a Pokemon so strong, so sleek, and sweet enough to win the heart of even the most jaded cynic!

Her Thunderbolts dazzle! So skilled with Double Team she can make as many as 12 copies at one time! She can Quick Attack through rings fast enough to make lightning seem slow!

Just who is this amazing Pokemon?" I asked the crowd. I felt Lita making her way into position as the crowd in the tunnel murmured. "I give you...Lita, the Wonder Chu!"

"Pikachu!" Lita called as she made a flying leap from my shoulders, did a few flips in the air, and miraculously landed feet first, to the roar of the crowd.

"Wow!" Dexter was awed by Lita's acrobatics. To be honest, I had no clue she could do that either. I decided to change back into my normal clothes while everyone else took their turns.
 
"So we're practicing?" asked Edward. He put on his tuxedo-like outfit as Starr flew around in the air. "Get ready, Starr!"

"I was ready long before you," joked Starr.
 
I thought in my head. Our speed is the perfect match of that Pikachu's... let's describe Safira's attacks.

I waited for my turn; hopefully it wasn't long. Then I realized that I was next in line. I stepped up to the stage, thinking before I spoke.

"Hello, all, it's Aria! Tonight, I'll be introducing a Pokemon of grace, and beauty. With perfection, she fires Dark Pulse like a Dusknoir, Dragon Pulse better than a Garchomp, ExtremeSpeed faster than an Arcanine... but most of all, Aura Sphere like no other Lucario! Ladies and Gentlemen, put your hands together for Safira!" I pointed my hand at my Lucario, who was posing next to me, gathering an Aura Sphere in her paws. She fired it into the air, then quickly used Dragon Pulse. The two attacks collided, creating a flash of fireworks. The audience cheered wildly as I sighed and stepped down, my Pokemon at my side.

In the dressing room, I watched from a monitor as some of the other made their introductions. One girl with a Lucario had made fireworks--Lita was watching in a heartbeat when those flashes of color appeared.

"You wish you could do that?" I cooed as i emerged from the screen, back in my casual clothes. Lita nodded.
 
Edward noticed he was next in line. Thinking, he stepped up to the stage.

"You shall experience a fantastic Pokemon of the air. One with such talent that almost no flying problem may ruffle a single feather. With Aerial Ace, Quick Attack, Close Combat and more, I give you Starr! The wonderous bird of clouds!"

It was the Staravia's cue. He took off into the air, doing a loop and going straight for the ground before swooping back up. He used Quick Attack and zoomed by Edward before turning around and diving, using Aerial Ace. A cloud of dust was scattered, and out of it soared Starr. He landed back on Edward's shoulder. Crowd cheering, Edward stepped off the stage and pulled his suit off.

((He put his outfit over his normal clothes, people.))
 
Aria watched a Staravia's Trainer's introduction. She had to admit it was pretty good. Safira watched, indifferent to the rest of the crowd.
 
Mysti decided to go practice with ((Hope the name can be changed!)) Firefox.((her attacks are: Fire spin, Attract, Energy Ball(an egg move,I have the official guide!), and Dark Pulse.)) "Alright,Firefox!Use Energy Ball!" she powered up an Energy ball and shot it stright up in the air." Now,use Dark Pulse!" when she did so,it went alongside the Energy Ball and they spun in the air." And for our last trick,use Fire Spin!" when Firefox did so,she shot stright up into the air,colliding with Dark Pulse and Energy ball,which priduced sparkles in every direction.Firefox flippes in the air and landed in Mysti's arms."Congrats,Firefox!We got it doen! "Vulpix,Vul!"
 
Shadow watched the other Pokemon.

"Guess I'm next." he muttered.

He walked out casually.

"Ladies and Gentlmen, I'd like to show you an amazing appeal. Fire pillars and SolarBeams (OOC: I know t's a cool move...but) make a dazzling display. I now present to you...Magma the Magmortar."

Magma ran out onto the stage.

Safira and Aria watched as one boy introduced a Magmortar. "Magma," Aria commented. "Practical name, but probably the best for a Magmortar, since Cement isn't that good."
 
Keira and Dexter smiled as one by one, the aspiring coordinators introduced their Pokemon. I felt proud myself--proud that I didn't devolve into a nervous blathering mess. Lita was smiling at the Lucario she had seen earlier--whether the two of them would become friends or not was up in the air.

When everyone had made their introductions, Keira began "Now that you've practiced making an introduction, let's move on to the three parts of a contest." With that, she led us into a hallway lined with more dressing rooms, only this time, they were numbered--presumably one for each entrant.

"This is where the coordinators dress up their Pokemon for the Visual competition." Keira explained. "Under the old rules, a coordinator could use whatever Accessories they owned, but younger coordinators complained that this wasn't fair, since veterans would have hundreds, sometimes even thousands, of Accessories; while they would only have a handful."

"To try and make it fairer, and more challenging, we now use these." Dexter continued, as he showed us a Fashion Case decorated in question marks. "Inside these Mystery Fashion Cases are an assortment of 100 Accessories--but you don't know what you will get until you open them."
 
"Pika pika chu?" Lita asked, pointing out a second Mystery Fashion Case sitting by us.

"They're called that because the Accessories inside are a mystery until you open it." I explained--well, at least tried to boil down what Keira and Dexter had said down to easy to understand terms.
 
Mysti ran into the practice contest zone(not where she was before!) and sat down.She missed where they introduced their Pokemon,but she could watch the rest!

"Well, introductions in a contest are far to similar to those like in a circus and therefore are crap in my opinion, so let's just say this is Nafter and if you don't know what Pokemon he is then get an education," Ella said.
"I am not being put in bows and ribbons," complained Nafter. "I am male and therefore wish to remain masculine."
Ella glared. "Who says I wanted to dress you up in bows and ribbons? Several accessories are actually feathers or balls of flame."
Nafter scratched his chin. "That could work. But no feminine stuff."
Ella gave a faint smile. "Good. Then maybe you could..."
They started whispering about strategies.

"If you want to try a mock Visual competition, raise your hand." Dexter began. I immediately raised my hand as high as the others--I really wanted to see how I would do dressing up Lita from random Accessories.
