Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.
Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.
Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?
Sure. I'm not saying first person causes huge problems or anything, but it would be marginally easier to just have all characters referred to by name instead of everyone being "I".Wouldn't keeping track still be easy if the characters name was listed at the beginning of the text? Or some other method of identification?
Well, yes, of course. I just think first person allows a more direct portrayal of emotions and thus makes the character connect more personally with the player, as well as other readers.
Depends on the RP, really. Though third-person makes it easier for the other players and the person running the game to know what's going on, so unless you're told otherwise it's generally safe to default to third-person, especially if you're trying to RP multiple characters.
Does that means it's not safe to use a perspective that's not third-person?
Just clarifying.
