• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

New hope for my card game!

Icalasari

YAY! NEW AVATAR! :D
Remember before the forum wipe, when I was bitching about the comps frying? Yeah, the main reason behind that was due to losing EVERYTHING for my Card Game, excluding the rules and what cards I had already made...

Just remembered that, at some point in time, I DID back up some cards

:D Happy days! It was a year or two ago, so I don't know where the CD is. Any hints on finding a CD that has been lost for god knows how long and may have had other stuff put on it by family members?

Lesson here: Dumb Luck is sometimes the best luck (and yes, it was dumb luck. I never planned to back up anything >.>)

EDIT: What? Not even a, "Congrats," or a, "WTF are you talking about? WHAT card game?" ? D:

^^ Thanks

Don't think it is in the fridge. Maybe the aquarium...

^^ I just hope my damn copyright lawyer is doing something right now. It has been nearly a year x.x

^^ Hope my game is a success when it is put out in the world ^^ Everybody who played it liked it. Although one DID wonder why one couldn't lose by running out of cards...

Yeah, you can keep on playing, even after the last card is drawn. ALWAYS found that annoying. An epic game is going on, then... One guy loses because s/he has fewer cards >.> In order to keep the ways of winning/losing the same, though, I imposed a turn limit on how long you can go without a creature on the field

...Hey, the game would still be tweaked some before it is sold to a card game company ^^

Losing a bunch of stuff you've worked hard on sucks. Once I remember I accidentally deleted the folder on my memory stick that contained all 150+ issues of my Sprite Comic (it's on some other site, not tCoD). I had them all on my Photobucket, so they still worked, but I really needed them on my memory stick, so I had to spend hours going through my album saving each and every issue. xD

Anyway, glad to hear some of it was backed up, and I hoipe you find the rest =3

And yeah, as other people said- what card game? =)

My card game is called Cryscon. Basically, you play these creatures called Cryscon, whom are either weak or strong (the gods are Cryscon, for example). They have one, strong effect. You can also play Fiends (Medium strength. They are called Fiends due to often being humanoid and not paying attention to human laws). Both attacks have a weaker effect.

You use Oz to pay for attacks AND you lose Oz when attacked. Essentially, you try to eliminate the foes Oz so that they can no longer attack you

Not revealing anymore, as you may steal my game. At which point, I would have to hunt you down and snap your neck. And we don't want that, now do we?

^^

...I'm not sure I understand at all, but sounds great anyway ;3

No one's going to steal your game, shadowater. It's not really worth stealing, to be honest, and most people aren't dickheaded enough to do something like that. I hope it goes well for you, though.

D: What is that supposed to mean?

And, also, if I leak too much information and the lawyer takes too long, then it can actually become uncopyrightable D:

At least, according to the lawyer, it can >.>

There are zillions of CCGs out there, many of them with established and sizeable player bases. If you want to get a healthy following in an already bustling market, you will probably need to make your product stand out in some way. As things stand, nobody really has any reason to get excited about your card game in particular, let alone steal it.

Then why so eagerly encourage people to ask you about it?

It's great that you're dedicated to your work on this card game, really - much better than someone doing what they do purely for the pursuit of money - but it would probably do you good to realise that not everyone shares your bubbling enthusiasm about the whole thing.

Contradiction, much? How can anyone get excited about it if they don't know about it? =)

I'm not saying he should give more information - especially since apparently he isn't meant to say much or else - I'm just saying that he can't expect people to share the same enthusiasm for his game when there is currently so little reason to get excited about it.

And, I suppose, that when he is allowed to say anything, he should have something damned interesting to say otherwise nobody will get excited about it.

It has several things that let it stand out. When the lawyer gets off his lazy ass, then I will tell you all those things >.>

My card game actually has a bunch of things about it that I have yet to hear about being used by any other TCG

That doesn't necessarily make it good, though. It has to be perfect to gain any sort of fanbase and card games usually have some other thing to get people interested - pokémon has the anime and the games, Yu-Gi-Oh has its anime et cetera.

I have had people I know - whether they like me or not - play it, and all of them like the game immensely

Thanks!

And of course you have yet to hear about it. Like I said, it isn't even copyrighted yet *kicks lawyer again D:<* I can't even phone him (he didn't answer past emails), since my parents lost his information

When it is copyrighted, I am going to try setting up something so all of you can try it on the computer [only two decks would be available, sadly D:]
