While technically it's legal to trade Safari Zone money for decreased odds, I don't think in-Zone currency means that much, and I doubt it's eligible for decreasing rates, let alone choosing flat-out Pokémon from the chart.

But I suppose that's Squornshellous Beta's decision.

I didn't know what else to call it, really.

Well, that was the thing. They just weren't there. I like to think of Tangela as literally just vines; whatever else is part of it isn't really there. It doesn't really make sense, but it was fun to write about.
 
Ignoring.

Tangela is maybe some unruly Oddish? It makes sense; if each Pokemon biologically evolved from another one, I can see Tangela coming from Oddish, kind of in the same way Doduo is described as Farfetch'd. The feet certainly help matters.

I doubt many of the Pokémon we know are descended from other Pokémon we know, with the possible exception of the ones revived from fossils. And if normal evolution does work on Pokémon, I don't think Doduo is descended from Farfetch'd; more likely they would have a shared ancestor back down the line, like humans and apes.
