• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open Pandemic

Marissa quickly closed her eyes from the brightness all of a sudden from the lights being turned on. She then felt the same prickly feeling as before when they were all in the big room.
"Wait...so, we're going to...d-die?" she asked nobody in particular in a weak voice. Marissa started shaking.

"They wouldn't kill us that quickly. After all, we're still valuble test subjects. This is just to numb our bodies so we don't cause trouble," Evelyn muttered as she finally woke up. She tried to release a thundershock, but didn't even have any strength. Where was everyone else?
"Miss? Marissa? A- are you safe?" she called out to Emese and Marissa wearily.

(Should we be waiting for FMC? She's the leader, after all.)

((Maybe, though I doubt this will change the direction of the actual story in any way.))

"I don't kno-ho-how..." Karen stammered and gasped, she shook and held her knees.

After the scientists left and the other people had been taken away, Oyasumi waited for the footsteps to quiet, then he walked quietly out of the room.
Now I wonder where they got off to... He smiled at the thought.

Turning down a hallway, he heard a scream, and looked into a room that contained scientists, a glass wall, and the other people.
Oh! I found you! Oyasumi waved through the door at the people in cages, then continued walking, searching for a weapon to free them.

The scientist eventually came to a room filled with fake grass. "I've decided that because you went willingly, we'll spare you." he said. "What do you mean, spare me?" Mysti asked. "The others have had their electricity taken out of their bodies, and now they're having the virus put on their bodies." Oh, no! Mysti thought. "Well, may I go say hi to them?" "Sure!" replied the scientist as he took her down the hall.

Miles started thrashing about, trying and failing with his electric attacks. He collasped to the bottom, sobbing.

Aria woke up in time to hear the others. She began to cry softly. "Death..."
Death, death.... that was all she could think about.

Oyasumi heard footsteps from around a corner and panicked.
Ooh! They found me! This might get interesting~!
He glanced up, and with a flap of his wings, opened and entered a ceiling tile.

Sitting in the darkness, waiting, he held his breath, as if the noise of his breathing would give away his postition.

Sending out a weak pulse of electricity, he found a suitable weapon, a meter long pipe.
"Perfect..." he muttered, using a very weak Charge Beam to hone the edge, making it a spear.

((Ok, Time Psyduck, you can join, but I want longer that like.. one or two sentence posts if you could? same for all of you... also, sorry for not being here- I've been doing a lot of other stuff lately.))

Emese had passed out, it seems. She yawned when she awoke, looking around drearily. Her head and belly hurt, and her legs felt all wobbly. That wasn't a nice feeling. Then, she noted a few of the others around.

She crawled to the edge of her cage and looked at them.

"Hey... what happened...? I think I passed out or something. Weird. And now I feel all bloaty. Gross..." She said, trailing at the end.

Her ear twitched slightly, and she squirmed in place, feeling uncomfortable.

((Righto))

Kev woke up slowly. There didn't seem much point in rushing things when all there was to look forward to was sitting in a cell all day.

"Liars. I'm supposed to be free, not sat in another prison."

He sreached, rattling the chains. He wondered if it would annoy whoever was outside, if there was anyone.

Evelyn sighed in relief. Marissa, the other kinds, Emese... they were all okay.
"W- we got beaten... or something. They're making sure we can't fight back and probably already tested the virus on us. I... guess we're alive for now," she sighed, starting to feel some movement in her body. Obviously, it wasn't enough to take the wires off, but it was better than nothing.
"So how can they keep us alive if we're too numb to even eat or drink?"

"I hate these scientists," Aria muttered to herself. She wanted to see how she looked now; it must have been stupid. She was in an awkward position; her had was turned to the right, and she was curled up, except one hand was chained behind her head.

"Where did you take them? Am I the only one here?"

Timothy volunteered to be taken there. A scientist nodded.

Later Timothy was in a cage around the others.

"So, geniuses. Got any ideas?"

Marissa finally snapped. "This isn't right! They're...They're treating us like animals in here! I'm starting to wonder if other people know about this! What if the police found out? Do they even know??" she yelled. "I'm tired with being treated like...like a pile of garbage!"

Marissa tried to hold back tears, but the lump in her throat was too big, and tears quietly began trickling down her cheek. She rolled up into a ball with her tail curled around her. "We have to...find some way to make this right..." she quietly said.

Mark froze inside himself. 'Death...' He thought. 'I can't die, can I? I've already escaped death twice, but...'
He opened his mouth, but no words came out.

Kev thought he could here other people.

Odd that. Why would there suddenly be a whole lot of other people arrive at once. Unless...

The last person he had seen other than a scientist had been put with him after a failed escape attempt. Of cours it could be anything; a fire, a flood, the building could have fallen down.

He remained silent, listening to find out if the voices were still there.

Miles sat in the back of his cage.

Never gonna get out. Gonna live this 'til I die. he muttered to himself.

He sighed and decided to get some rest.

Timothy reached his thin tail outside of his cage and smacked a bar.

"It's obvious they're treating us like this. We're part Pokemon, for Arceus' sake."

He slowly but repeatedly slapped the bars of the cage.

Evelyn leaned on a wall and sat up. She raised her arm just enough to grab one of the wires that was weakening her. She yanked it off swiftly and recoiled her hand, which showed faint singe marks. Still, it was a bit easier to move now, but it was easier to feel the pain in her hand.
"Careful... The wires are really hot," she advised everyone, not wanting to try pulling off another one yet.

Mysti looked in a widow at everyone. This...is pure torture... she thought. The scientist took her back to her room. As much as the Raichu in her wanted to run around, Mysti fought it. She huddled into a corner. "I...don't want my friends to die..." she said as she was crying, oblivious she was saying it out loud for the scientist to hear.
