So today, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales* is visiting our school to officially open our new library and second sports hall. The timetable has been completely obliterated, but I'm pretty we don't have second lesson, having instead two hours of third (French for me), which will be interrupted about halfway through to go outside and watch Charles crossing the bridge that connects the new building with the rest of the school.

Meanwhile, there will be guards at every entrance to the school, and there are rumours that they will be armed (I doubt that's true), and also of snipers on the rooves (I doubt this even more). Either way, it'll be pretty daunting having these big scary people surrounding the school, no?

It's not that I'm excited about it or anything, but where else would something like this go?

*In general people don't actually refer to him as that but, you know, it's sort of formal really.

Oh, I do like that man. No special reason really, he's a pretty sad bloke and pretty dodgy about politics and all but I just can't help liking him.

Will small children be singing a song for him or does that only happen in the rest of Europe.

Wow. Prince William was watching the Water Polo English Schools Finals. My school won. Unfortunately, I'm a little too young to compete it that.. (by about 5 years...) Its awesome, because they were in the newspaper as well. You are so lucky.

(@VPLJ - Nah, there's no small singing children in our school.)

Okay, so the morning went like this:

A few minutes into school two huge great sniffer dogs were released to find any 'explosive devices'. Also, all the outside bins were moved to a courtyard well away from where Charles would be, just in case anyone hid any bombs in them.

First lesson (ICT) was ten minutes longer, then we had break early. Second lesson, as aforementioned, was non-existent, and instead we had around two hours of third (French). About 15 minutes into French we all went outside into the main courtyard-thing to wait (I was wrong about the bridge thing, we were just going to watch him entering the building on the other side of the bridge to the new building). Luckily for me I was right next t the door he'd be going through, so I had a pretty good view.

After a very cold half-hour or so, a big group of people (Random guards, Camilla (Charles' wife, just in-case you don't know~), some other random women, the headmaster, some important teachers and this sixth-former who's so important he's basically staff), all surrounding the Prince himself, came from the school theatre (Apparently Charles had been there listening to the school choir singing). As he walked past us, he randomly detached himself from his protectors and let some girls take photos of him (GRRRR my phone ran out of batteries just before he came so I couldn't take any). He said something odd like "What are these strange machines all around me?", and I think it was supposed to be a joke. Just to be polite, of course, the people nearby laughed.

One of my friends got a little over-excited, because Camilla said 'Hello' and Charles said 'Good morning' to her. Afterwards he just went inside and we never saw him again.

THE END GOODNIGHT

Um, yeah, that's basically it.

Also, hehehe he's only a little bit taller than me

I'll be able to give official pictures at the weekend, according to my school's website.

Before anyone gets worried about the other scary old man, that's just the headmaster~

Also, thanks for linking to the pictures, Fredie.
