• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Recommend me a game.

There's a freeware RPG called 'Last Scenario' which has very good gameplay and awesome characterization. As for explosions, it's not heavy on them, but you can nuke enemies to death with spells -- and there's at least one place you get to blow up! :D (If you try it, just know: it starts out with a completely cliched plot on purpose. Most cliches don't last too long in this game.)

i don't see what's so great about earthbound.

anyways, i heard someone mention diablo III. can you say... ZOMBIE WALL?!

OBLIVION.

SERIOUSLY GUYS
A kind of let-down after Morrowind.
I agree but unless he has an extremely good PC it's not gonna happen.

Actually, Oblivion doesn't need all that good of a computer to run. If you want to make the game look good, perhaps, but hardly needs a top-notch computer, a minimum requirements computer can be built/bought for I'd say ~$350.

FFX-2?

It can get addicting

How about Golden Sun 1 for GBA? And if you complete that, get Golden Sun: The Lost Age (the sequel). They are Roleplay/Strategy games, with fighting and stuff.

Which you obviously do, of course...!

No, not really. The only graphical setting that affects gameplay in a way besides lag would be draw distance, which always has to be on max in Oblivion. Or, at least, higher than halfway. Try playing the game with draw distance on the lowest setting. It's hilarious at first, but gets annoying fast.
Playing at next to minimum settings, the world textures look a bit worse than Morrowind, and there aren't too many enviromental objects like trees and such rendered at a distance, but the character models look comparatively good, and the particles aren't changed too much.

Plenty of people out there aren't graphics nuts. And some of us are economically disadvantaged, so to speak.

Maybe Advance Wars. Each enemy destroyed is an explosion, even for infantry. And it's challenging strategy.

Oblivion is FUCKING BEAUTIFUL with all settings on max and it's fun for a while but eventually it gets sort of boring. Still, running through pretty countryside ftw.

Eh, I don't know, I DO like the compass. It got kind of annoying in Morrowind having to blindly find your way around. I DO miss levitaion.

Okay, you gotta admit, Oblivion does do ranged weapons better.

If you're in it for the explosions, try Boom Blox for Wii. It's not an RPG, but it's still got tons of exploding. I don't have it, but I've heard it's fun. It was also made by Steven Spielberg, so it probably has at least somewhat of a story.

Yeah, that one.

"Some people wish to throw their weapons. That seems foolish to M'aiq. If you hold your weapon, you only need one."

If M'aiq the liar says it, it must be true. M'aiq knows much, tells some.

But it does do it better. *shot*

And Shivering Isles has like the best dialogue ever.

Shivering Isles is amazing. It's what Oblivion should have been.

M'aiq is just a dumb scapegoat for the developers. :|

Yeah, he totally is. But as far as scapegoats go, he's pretty funny.

Also, at least we can agree Shivering Isles is awesome. :D
