It's about midday now, and the sun is very much in everyone's eyes and going to give everyone a sunburn unless they've brought sunscreen. The referee hasn't but does not give much of a damn, since she doesn't burn anyways. Sunstroke, however, might inconvenience both her and the battles she is reffing, and she would not like that. With a quick wave of her hand for the Trainers to go ahead, she sends one of her own Pokemon off to go find her an umbrella or something.
In the meanwhile, Pokemon battles wait for no one but the referee, and she did give the Trainers the all clear. Yelling out commands to their weary Pokemon, the Bug types glare at each other for what could be the final round. Breaking eye contact, Cicada raises her scythes to the sun and calls forwards her inner strength, focusing her mind on the energy of the sun, and what could come from it. A few pale yellow sparks blink into existence around her, and spin in quick circles around her, drawing a kind of curtain of light over the mist hovering around her as well. The sun appears to flash, and Cicada blinks as her body's natural healing power speeds up, and closes her open wounds.
Yanma hisses out a few curses as she watches Cicada stand straighter, pumped with energy and looking refreshed. Her orders were simple, this round, and were just the kind of demolition she wanted to go out with, if she did. Focusing the energy within her, Yanma's eyes glow a bright blue-purple, the exaggerated colour of royalty, and to Yanma, the colour of Cicada's death. The ground rumbles softly under Cicada's feet, and something shifts not too far below as the ground seems to sink.
Cicada looks forwards at Yanma worriedly, and groans as she sees her opponents eyes' are glowing blue-purple. Not this again.. Instead of passing through the ground, a boulder suddenly appears in front of Yanma, phasing, it could be said. And once more, the wicked tip turns towards Cicada and rockets forwards, lodging itself in Cicada's side as the rest of the rock cracks off and falls to the ground, shattering on impact. Cicada turns to Yanma, and notes an odd faraway look in her eyes, like she is daydreaming in the battle. Not a good idea, Cicada snickers, and blinks as a translucent blue-purple wisp floats away from Yanma. Uh, what?
It probably wasn't anything important, Cicada decides, since it didn't fly towards her and suck her soul out or anything. With a smirk, she puts her scythes to her sides, and pushes away from the ground, quickly landing and bounding at Yanma. Before the glow of her eyes fully fades, Cicada is on her, slashing and kicking like a wild thing. Yanma buzzes out a high pitched whine and closes her eyes, waiting for it to stop-
And when she opens her eyes again, Cicada is standing where she was, looking at her oddly. She looks noticeably more tired, but has this grin on her face that says it all. Yanma buzzes her disproval in a string of words that once again, the referee decides not to record. She's still hanging on, but to a very slim thread now..
So that means it'll be time to deal death, then. Once again, Yanma summons her strength, which is starting to fail her, and her eyes glow a dimmer blue-purple than earlier. Once more, the ground rumbles and something far, far below them all shifts as an immaterial rock phases before Yanma. Cicada knows what's coming, definitely, and puts her scythes in front of her abdomen in an attempt to block the point-
The Scyther cries out as the rock point flies forwards and buries itself above her eye, not too far away. A yell from Darksong lets both Trainer, referee and Pokemon know that she is not very pleased that her Pokemon was almost permanently blinded, a returning shout from Scyther (yes, the Trainer) lets her know he didn't know Yanma would do that. A buzz that could be a little laugh from Yanma tells everyone what
she thinks, and it's not a very nice thing to think about. Her legs are drooping, she wouldn't be able to last much longer like this.
Cicada glares at her bloodthirsty opponent, surely this was taking it too far? She wanted to return the favour, maybe rip one of her wings off, maybe a leg if she could before being stopped. But her commands were to rest.. and reluctantly, Cicada calls up her inner strength once more. The winner of this battle is pretty obvious, Yanma would probably knock herself out from exhaustion without her having to move a scythe. The pale yellow sparks from earlier blink into existence and dance their strange dance, and the wound above Cicada's eye, along with a few others, seal themselves as her natural healing power focus in on her wounds, before fading away. The result is a physically fit Cicada, but also quickly wearing down, and she gets set to try to dodge whatever Yanma throws at her, which will likely be-
And she is right. While Cicada has busied herself with restoring energy and healing, Yanma has summoned up the last of her own energy, literally, in her final effort. In front of her is a meagre looking rock, about half the size of the previous ones Yanma has summoned to her side. Unnervingly, she doesn't seem to be flying, but floating in the air as a blue-purple aura coats her. The rock flies towards Cicada in the blink of an eye, and before she can move, buries itself into her arm. As Cicada jumps backwards in pain, the aura leaves Yanma suddenly, and she drops to the ground, utterly spent.
Cicada whoops and does a twist in the air, and as she does, the green aura around her fades away. She points her scythes and laughs at her fallen opponent, and grins up at her Trainer as Scyther steps forwards to recall his finished Pokemon for the first and last time, in more ways than one. It seems Cicada's prediction has come true.
