(Signups) The Soul Guard

I FINALLY GOT AROUND TO FINISHING THIS.
I never got to properly use this character, so yeah. I am using dearest Vera. Yoshi should be scared. >:3

Name: Vera Diamondback
Gender: Female
Age: 19

Appearance: Standing at 5'7 and weighing no more than 130 pounds, Vera used to have bleach blond hair that reached her waist, but she dyed it a cool black with hot pink highlights running through it about a year prior. However, the ends of her hair is still dipped the pale blond. She has icy, sky-blue eyes and long eyelashes. She has a milky complexion and a slender build. She also seems to have fairly large cleavage hidden under her shirt.

Vera wears a red corset-like sleeveless shirt and dark gray skinny jeans with red sparkly flip-flops. Her nails are painted a bright neon green, not at all matching her outfit, and she has dangly earrings with small dice on them. She wears a gold ring with a green jewel on her left hand and a blue jeweled one along with a purple colored one on her right. She wears a large black cross necklace around her neck and several black and red bangles on her wrists.

Personality: Vera is a rebel, essentially; she's not good with taking orders, and would much rather do them her own "logical" way. She's stubborn and willing to give a good fight for whatever she believes is right and just. However, despite her flamboyant behavior, Vera is very compassionate and sweet. She's also quite oblivious to the concept of personal space, and fails to notice the awkwardness she may cause when having her chest pressed up against someone else's whilst asking them a question.

History: Vera was born on the outskirts of a bustling city, the youngest of three. Her father was almost always away overseas since he worked with the Navy, so Vera was used to only seeing her older brothers and her mother whilst she returned home from school. She didn't really have any close friends at school, but rather loose acquaintances and contacts she didn't particularly hang out with much. She also was suspended a lot from school as well for disorderly behavior, picking fights with rivals and back-talking teachers with shrewd comments. However, despite the hardships, she was an average student grade-wise, and got along pretty well for a kid going through a fatherless life and living with two annoying siblings.

However, even though Vera had heard about the government seeking out "terrorists" and putting them to justice— another fancy term for killing, in Vera's mind— she never really kept up with the times, and often let the thought slip her mind. To her, there really wasn't any real danger; she knew for a fact none of her relatives were terrorists, despite the horrid practical jokes her brothers may of pulled.

But this all changed as she came home to an eerily quiet house on a cold winter's night, a ghostly draft in the air. Vera silently ventured through the house, careful not to make a sound, and froze completely as she saw two men stalk out of her mother's bedroom carrying a gun or two. Luckily, Vera dashed into a closet by her soundlessly as they checked out her bedroom for any trace of life. As they fled from the scene without a word, Vera knew automatically by pure instinct her family was dead. She couldn't bring herself to see their faces, though, and, her head hanging in shame and guilt, left the house. She grabbed the keys to her eldest brother's motorcycle and lived on the road for a day or two, but soon switched courses as she learned about the Soul Guard and the "terrorists." Utterly confused and curious, Vera sought out their help, and hasn't been with them long.

Guardian: Vera's Guardian is not a kid-friendly type of person. His given nickname is Cyrus, and he is dreadfully dull and cold. He has no expression whatsoever all the time, and his voice is flat and monotonous. He is eerily aloof and uncaring, not ever showing the slightest bit of emotion under any circumstances, and has every bit of confidence in himself and his host. His appearance whilst in his sanctuary-like hall is dark and vampire-like. He is strangely tall, standing at 7'6, and has pearly gray skin. He has piercing electric yellow eyes, similar to those belonging to a cat, and bloodstained fangs. He has messy, navy blue hair that is so dark it could easily be passed off as black and is shoulder-length. A strand of hair is always between his eyes. His attire consists of a black robe with a deep, white V-neck, revealing his muscular chest, and a pure white stole over his neck with golden characters embedded into the fabric. These letters include the Roman numerals up to the number seven on the right side, and the Alpha and Omega signs on the left. He wears simple black dress shoes and many assorted rings on his fingers.

Vera's Guardian can offer her an amazing boost in brute strength. When receiving one of the short, very powerful opportunities, Vera can fully control the energy of her power, which, simply put, means she can either let the pain spread out within the target's body or centralize it into one spot.

Cyrus's true form is that of a gray griffin with split bat-like wings, electric yellow cat eyes and a rather massive body. In the Excess Stage, Vera's eyes become cat-slit and a bright yellow like Cyrus's. Once in the Archaic Stage, bright gray Roman numerals shine on her arms, the first four on her right and the next three on her left, and the Alpha sign shines on her left cheek while the Omega shines on her right. Her hair also seems to spike out a bit more in this stage, and becomes completely black with a blue tint to it. In the Gladius Stage, all other traces of her Guardian are gone, minus the large, gray, aura-like bat wings which have sprouted from her back and split into two separate wings each. Vera hasn't gotten past this yet, nor completely mastered the Gladius Stage.

Other: I'd prefer Vera to stay single... But if anyone's desperate, I'm open to anything.

... I am a little scared what you plan to do with you character's lack of a personal bubble. Or rather, her possession of two personal bubbles. You are accepted.

Moony, you may start like that if you'd like. Have fun with that. We'll see hat-boy soon...

EDIT: Thread's up, everyone, happy hunting!

Alright, Thorne, you'll have to come in similar to Moony, where you find us after we've already started... Which is rather slow moving.

Please post you guys. (´;ω;`)

If at all possible I'd like to reserve...if not just ignore mee ._.

Name: Skye Aranai
Gender: Female
Age: 17

Appearance: Standing at 5' 4", she is somewhat short compared to most people. Skye's hair is jet black and shoulder length, and creates almost a frame around her face. Under her left eye was a single freckle, and it was the one thing that added some color to her pale skin. Her eyes are a very pale blue colour in comparison to her hair.
Usually she had on a grey jacket with black stripes, blue jeans that were longer than her legs were, and black tennis shoes.

Personality: Mostly PO since describing personality is annoying sometimes and I wind up doing it in the history most of the time anyway

History: Skye grew up a very sheltered person, living out most of her life home schooled. However, she spent most of her time alone, and rarely had a friend at all. She was always used to being by herself and not standing out or being asked to do something for someone. Her parents weren't cruel, they just never had any time for her. They never had the time to explain the world to her, answer questions she had, and never helped her figure out whether she liked boys or girls, so she's naturally confused around either gender.

When the genocide started, she opened up more, finding that people knew about as much as she did. Opening up also caused another change, a strange male voice called her name, and gave her riddles to solve, only showing himself when the riddle was asked not when she was thinking about it. She wasn't sure whether it was just her imagination or whether she was finally losing it, she thought she had seen a long dark hall with only stars along the walls, and that she did feel stronger. One night, soon after she heard the voice, her parents didn't come back home, which was unusual for them. She didn't think much of it, figuring they would be back eventually, there was food in the house and she knew how to take care of herself, so she wouldn't be at a loss. But, the day after she found out they had died in some type of accident, or so they claimed, and they barged into the house and came for her. They grabbed her arms and tried to force her out of the house. She complied at first, and waited for them to let go.

The voice spoke up again, and told her not to submit, that she had to fight, and a burst of. adrenaline kicked in. Turning to look at her, for Skye had started to give off a grey aura, she struck them, and ran.

Guardian:. While he is in his Hall, he stands slightly taller than Skye, with dark grey hair and bright yellow eyes that are very wolf-like. He wears black boots, dark grey jeans, a black shirt, and a black jacket that hangs open almost always. He had seen his soul's owner struggle plenty, and knew he needed to connect to her in some way if she didn't reach out first. She had always asked for help, but he had refused to speak up until he saw fit. Preferring to be called Ares, he didn't reveal his name to her until she escaped.

Ares test was a simple one, a riddle of sorts. It didn't involve much thought and she got it on her first try. Once she was away from anyone, he explained to her who he was, and how he was going to help her, and even gave her glimpses of some power, but only showed the first stage and second. Ares even said he would try and give courage or some sort of growth when he could.

Ares wanted to be the supporting type, but he was too quiet and reserved to be anything of the sort. He reasons that the one reason he managed to connect to Skye was because he felt something sinister was approaching, and he needed to protect the soul, it was his ow lifeline, of course.
-Adrenaline Stage: Gets a boost to her strength and gives her more courage to go after things that she would shy away from.
-Excess Stage: Her eyes turn the yellow of his and gains a very slight grey aura.
-Archaic Stage: Her eyes are the yellow once more, and her hair turns a snow white color.
-Gladius Stage: The aura forms around her hands and feet, giving her claws and the habit to walk on four legs and attack that way, and his snout with slightly longer front fangs.
-Tartarus Stage: Ares appears in the form of a wolf. He has two tails and his front fangs are longer than normal, and extends slightly farther than the bottom part of his jaw.

Other: She's confused about her sexuality...this will be an interesting character.

One other question: didn't we do an RP like this before? You used the same guardian.

Indeed we did. I suggested that I revive it. I was advised to do so. And here we are. 'Cept this time I changed a few details. Made it a little more complete.

Name: Archie Borough
Gender: Male.
Age:16

Appearance: Archie has long, black hair that goes to about chin-length, unless he doesn't comb it, in which case it curls back around his head in either a ridiculous or heroic fashion (it's pretty much up to chance). His skin is pale, and he is exactly 5'6.52 (he measured).

Personality: Prone to speaking his mind, though normally measured and collected. Enjoys being with people. Doesn't mind much, and doesn't care to let negative emotions get in the way of his favourite thing in the world-logic.

History: Archie's father was a mechanic and an avid fan of fantasy literature and science, whilst his step-mother was a science teacher with an even greater love of her subject. In this environment, it was not surprising Archie fell in love with science, and became very interested at learning and memorising all he could about it. However, as much as it had to offer, there was a lot more in the world than science, and so he spent much of his time reading, trying to learn it all. His social connections were sub-standard as a result, with only the most patient and enduring individuals being able to nourish a friendship with him.

It was this reclusive nature that caused him to be picked on in school. Although his non-caring nature caused him to be largely apathetic to the bullies, he did get a little upset when they locked him in a school supply closet for some time. It was at this time he heard the two voices in his head, speaking the same words simultaneously, monotonously, teaching him to open the door without a key. Within fifteen minutes, his mind (and their's) had unlocked the door and freed him. From then on, these voices spoke with him, teaching him that the laws of physics he had so dearly memorised were not totally correct after all. The ability to manipulate non-conscious objects was one he relished, for it was a truly unique ability that he utterly, utterly cherished. Through years of practice, he eventually reached the Gladius stage, though the physical changes frightened him too much for him to go that far again. Having one's arm turn into a mesh of floating gears was rather upsetting.

His father died cancer when he was ten, and so for the past six years he has lived happily with his stepmother. Though he loved to learn, current events and politics and the like never really intrigued him the way science and such did, and so he kept mostly out of it. Until, of course, it came for him. A chronic insomniac, his stepmother was surprisingly awake when they came. Her screams woke Archie from his slumber, and his guardian triggered his Adrenaline Stage. Instead of fleeing, as intended, Archie attacked the gunmen in a fit of blind rage for murdering his only remaining parent. Their gunfire, though badly-aimed because of the shock at an assignment gone so badly wrong, made him turn tails and flee to the car in the garage that his father had been working on before he died. A revolutionary air-piston engine that ran on nothing but air.

Tragically, the design was as flawed as Archie had suspected, and so fifteen minutes into the chase he was on foot. He escaped, physically and emotionally exhausted, and by the time he was headed to the Soul Guard he was already repressing the memories safely behind him.

Guardian: Archimedes' assumed form is one of a humanoid man composed entirely of floating gears that radiate a strange white aura. Its voices (one high pitched, the other low) speak in unison, one a second after the other to make a weird echo effect.

Its hall was of similar construction to himself-made of spinning gears, the only colours white and grey. Its task was fiendishly difficult-to create a great many machines, each more complicated than the other, form nothing but a pile of parts. Archie was not allowed to use his hands, and so had to use his telekinesis to slot them all together. Using so much control brought headaches that hurt for hours, but eventually he passed and Archimedes offered its services.

Archimedes itself is cold and largely uncaring, has love only for construction and science and is absent of gender. It cares little for petty squabbles or emotions.

Archimedes has three true forms, as a consequence of its being made of gears that constantly deconstruct and reconstruct itself. These three forms are a jungle cat (which one is hard to tell), an eagle, and a school of fish, each composed entirely out of floating gears.

-Adrenaline Stage: Archie gets a boost to speed and endurance, and a slight boost to strength.

-Excess Stage: Archie's eyes become totally white, his iris' gear shaped and constantly spinning and whirring. They glow quite brightly, though it is only noticeable in the dark. At this stage, he can move objects without will with equal force and precision.

-Archaic Stage: Gear symbols appear all over his flesh, literally everywhere, like white tattoos, constantly spinning on his skin as if he were some complex machine. At this stage his telekinesis can be used to affect objects with will, though he can do little more than psychically punch them and it is very exhausting. He can move items without will with considerable force and great precision.

-Gladius Stage: Archie's left arm becomes composed entirely of gears which he can reshape and reform as he wills. This form is extremely hard for him to control, and he fears it greatly because of the Body Horror. He never goes into this form willingly.

-Tartarus Stage: Archie has yet to reach this stage, but when he will Archimede's ever changing Eagle-Fish-Jungle Cat composed of gears will be present, using both its forms unique weapons as well as psychic powers to best foes. These animals, as represented by the gears, are completely anatomically correct.

Other: Archie's telekinesis is hard for him to turn off, and at times of emotional stress can veer wildly out of control. A good indicator of his opinion of you would be how many objects fly in your direction with lethal velocity when he is upset.

Coroxn, accepted, but fix one itty bitty thing before you start posting. The adrenaline stage... Is literally just adrenaline. Telekinesis would not be involved in that. Change that before you post anything, and we're all fine and dandy.

Well, since you hadn't really specified any different, I assumed you would be starting in the council meeting with us. If it turns out you had other plans, then I suppose you could just show up along the road any second here. I expect Moony will be somewhere on that road, also. Anyways, we've just started moving. Barely.

CJBlazer should also post.

A. Like Silver, you can be a newer member of the Guard who wants in on the mission. We're still pretty much on the edge of camp.

B. Meet us further on the road. I know a couple others plan on that.

Those are my two ideas. Maybe it'll be easier if I can get Silver and CJBlazer to post. We need to move.
