• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Skyrim!

Played 72 hours, and spent countless hours more working on a blog for Fences-Poorly the Argonian, the character I'm doing my primary playthrough with. I'm liking it a lot, although there are things that don't make sense (eg, how giants and mammoths are so much stronger than dragons) and things that I do miss from older Elder Scrolls games (eg, the ability to use spears, and the ability to steal pillows).

EDIT: Might as well say it here if it's not obvious, but my Skyrim character's journal contains countless spoilers.

The countless bugs and crashes somewhat ruined the immersion during the beginning, but hey, it's a Bethesda game. And a newly released one at that. Anyway - Skyrim and I got off to a bad start, but we're cool now. I'm finding the dragons (this game has dragons in it, end spoilers) to be somewhat disappointingly unchallenging... My Archery was pretty low when I fought my first one alone, and I hadn't even touched the other weapon skills; I just fight unarmed since I'm a Khajiit. Granted, I do 15 bonus damage with unarmed attacks, but it nevertheless feels somewhat... anticlimactic when I can beat a dragon (this game has dragons in it, end spoilers) to death with my bare hands.

I'm in love with the Poisoned perk (Pickpocketing). It falls into Awesome but Impractical territory pretty hard, but still. Slipping a Frenzy poison into someone's pocket in the middle of a town is fun.

I'm glad they removed the create-your-own-spells system that was in Oblivion. It was frankly too easy to abuse, especially by adjusting spell durations. Hrrm.

I just got the Solitude house/mansion for free. Well not free... but I didn't pay for it.... Complicated. But still :D

Hate to double post, but it's been a while. I'm making a Skyrim fanfic... It's gonna be epic. See, there is one dragonborn left, the last one, the one who never died. Tiber Septim. Talos himself, who rose from being a mortal to a god. He's the only one who can stop Alduin. When he is sent back to Tamriel he has lost his memory, over time he begins to remember, but he is not happy with what he sees. The gods are not happy with the Thalmor either.

It's gonna be a looong one.

Currently level 23, focusing mostly on KILLING SHIT. WITH FIRE.

Bit of a nice guy though, as I'm an Imperial.

I'm level 44, Nord, warrior. Stormcloaks/everything but Empire.

I used to love the Empire in Oblivion, but they've sold out.

Let's be fair. They were bought out.
It's the Altmer what did it. They didn't have much of a choice once they lost the war.

Two characters:

Ahdaji a sneak, assassin, thief, and mage. (Khajiit)
Groktag gro-Torsik, Warrior, married man, adventurer extrordinaire. (Orc)

Big bump, but I didn't feel like starting a new thread.

Level 21, Khajiit. Currently level-grinding in Illusion, Smithing, and Enchanting.

I have a level ~16.... Wood Elf that prefers to sneak snipe things with his Orcish Bow, but isn't afraid to get up close and personal with his fine Steel Sword + Sparks. He also sometimes goes in for the backstab with his Orcish Dagger.

I will admit I haven't been playing lately. I sort of abandoned my xbox after I got the best ending in ME3.

I have mulitple characters, based as best as possible off my characters from my fanfic.

Malik: Level 30ish Khajiit. Huge. Dual Axes/Restoration/Alchemy. Didn't joing any guilds or factions, just random questing.
Cato: Level 50ish Imperial. Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. Sneak/Archery/Lockpicking/One handed
Revak: Level 40ish Main quest-er Nord. Sword and shield/Speech/Heavy Armor/Blacksmith

Kadan: My veryvery first charcter. Did EVERYTHING!

I've been playing on and off. I've spent way too much time dicking around doing side quests though, I'm only on "a cornered rat" on the main quests. I also started a new game just to try out a stealth character, then I ended up getting attached to him and made him my main. My two characters are:

James - Level 34 Argonian. Also a werewolf. Basically attacks head on with one-handed swords and destruction spells. Fire, swords and blizzards are fun to work with. Werewolf rampages are also good, wholesome fun.

Byrus - Level 37 Khajiit. My main character right now. Archery/one handed/illusion/sneak for the most part. I decided to go for stealth for once, since I mostly just hack 'n slash when it comes to these type of games. Took me a while to get used to sneaking around with a bow, but I ended up really enjoying the change.
I also tried out the whole vampire thing. It's mostly annoying, but it adds a cool challenge, so I'm gonna tough it out. Plus, it turns me into a SABRE CAT.

I was going to give my characters species specific names, but I got lazy.

Started a new character not long ago, focusing on Illusion. I've realized that, if you really invest in it, Illusion is virtually all you need. You can just turn invisible and let everyone else kill each other.
