Terry, that tutorial is frankly terrible. He copy/flipped without changing the shading on the flipped part, and the difference in the shades on the legs and hair is just painful. I wouldn't use it if I were you.

Also, what Ruffled said is true.

Colour- I want the lightest shade to be pure white, please. You can go down from there.
 
Polite question: why is the shading blue instead of gray?
Criticism: It looks like the only colors on it are white, black and one shade of blue.
 
Terry, when people criticize you, don't just say, "Well I tried my best and that's what matters." It's not an insult or anything, so just try to follow their advice and get better. People will respect you and like your sprites much more if you just accept criticism and learn from mistakes.

Colour- Where the brown would be, it's a dark pink. Where it's white, it's dark purple now.
