• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Alien Warship: Big and green and slow. Any sized Pokémon can ride it, however it may send them packing with laser turrets or the electricity field. It can shoot any Pokémon on the field. One Wailord big.
Human Cruiser: Huge, grey, ridiculusly slow. Any sized Pokémon can ride it, however it may send them packing with laser turrets. It can shoot any Pokémon on the field. Two Wailords big.
Alien Cruiser: Huge, green, ridiculusly slow. Any sized Pokémon can ride it, however it may send them packing with laser turrets or the electricity shield. It can shoot any Pokémon on the field. Two Wailords big.
Human Battleship: It is massive. It is grey. It is so slow that in a race, the snail would win. However, it makes up for it by being able to blow up any ship on the other team at random, and having yet more lasers to knock off intruders. Any sized Pokémon can ride it. Twelve Wailords long, three high and four wide.

Arena Description: Random Room

Nothing special. A gigantic, white-walled room that can easily fit four Wailords. Anything needed for Pokemon or attacks (water, mud, sand, etc.) will appear on command. Just a simple, no-nonsense battle.

Note: I will almost certainly be using my Cradily unless presented with a very unfair type disadvantage, so be warned!

Hello, parking meter.
Shall we?

Arena: Lavaplume Flats

In one of the more tropicalish areas of Asber (very rare, those are), on a large, flat island that's shaped like a cloud shaped like a duck, there lies a humongous volcano omigosh really?

Buuuut that's not where this battle will happen. Due to mysterious tectonic activity and multiple handwaves, most of the island is covered in gray, pillowing stone. This stone is warm to the touch and almost pliable with enough effort. The stone sparkles in the intense sunlight like a vampire, and is about as lifeless and boring. It's what's underneath the rock that's importante, mi amigo; a vast pool of magma lies underneath the several feet of stone, bubbling and attempting to escape. How the lava flats have remained so pristine for this long is a mystery; the shell is completely unmarked despite this being, y'know, Pokémon, were we fight on the moon and stuff.

But I digress.

A simple Mega Punch or Rock Throw is good enough to smash a hole in the ground, revealing the bubbling lava underneath. Once every round after a hole has opened, a geyser of lava will boil upwards and splash the arena before receding. Fire type moves get STAB regardless of the user's typing. Heavy pokémon may break the rock simply by standing on it.

All right, taking this again. :)

2v2 Single
Style: Set
DQ: 7 days
Damage Cap: 30%
Banned Moves: OHKO's, only 5 Chills/Pokemon

Arena: The School's yard.

A relatively large field, used to train Erasers to take down and rip apart their prey. The arena is about 1/4 the length of a football field. Seeing as Erasers are mean and evil, there's a 2% chance of one attacking your pokémon and taking 5% damage.

Other: Yes, I'm obsessed with Maximum Ride.

3 v. 3 Set
DQ Time: 1 Week
Damage Cap: 70%
Banned/Limited Moves: OHKOs, weather moves, direct healing moves banned, chills limited to 5 per trainer (for the whole match).
Arena: Breezy Beach
Breezy Beach is, by all accounts, a perfectly normal sandy stretch of coastline, apart from the winds that are near constant there that drive off almost all tourism. Really, it's a wonder no one thought to schedule a battle there before: the water there is remarkably warm this time of year, the terrain is such that Pokemon would be reasonably evenly matched no matter where they were released (well, unless you were to release a fire type in the middle of the water or something, but we'll ignore the belligerently stupid options like those), and there's ample water for aquatic Pokemon and moves like Surf. The winds are fairly strong, but not enough to inhibit movement or blow over anything heavier than an empty bucket. In fact, for Pokemon in the air, they could even provide a boost. As for the water, it's perfectly calm aside from the occasional bit of driftwood that washes ashore. After about fifteen feet from shore, it gets deep enough for most water-bound Pokemon to swim around freely.
NOTES: Tailwind is in effect for all airborne Pokemon. If the move Tailwind is used, it will only be in effect for the user's team.

Arena: WWE Monday Night Raw

Arena Description:

Directly in the middle of thousands of screaming fans sits a wrestling ring. Our trainers will do battle in a wrestling style Elimination Match. Leaving the ring for more than ten turns will cause the referee to instantly KO the offending pokemon. Seeing as how this is the WWE, there is a 10% chance that a random wrestler will run out and perform a signature move to one of the active pokemon.

List of Wrestlers:
John Cena - Attitude Adjustment - 5% Type-less damage, causes Confusion
Chris Jericho - Code Breaker - 5% Type-less Damage and lowers Defense and Special Defense by one level each.
Edge - Spear - 5% Type-less damage and has a chance to Cause Paralysis.
The Miz - Skull-Crushing Finale - 10% Type-less Damage.
Kane - Hellfire Chokeslam - 5% Typeless Damage, Causes Burns
Randy Orton - RKO - 5% Typeless Damage, Causes Poison.
CM Punk - GTS (Go To Sleep) - 5% Typeless Damage, Causes Sleep.

The attacking wrestler will be sent away by the referee after their attack, and will be banned from ringside (not allowed to return) for the remainder of the battle.

Field: Arboreal Dome

In some closed-off mountain range in the northern parts of Asber, a strange natural wonder has formed; a humongous dome made entirely of intertwined trees and vines. It is several hundred feet high and wide, and the ground inside is covered with bushes and a strange, luminescent moss. Moss-covered boulders are also strewn throughout, and a slow, good-sized stream cuts a swathe through the middle of the Great Arboreal Dome. The light not provided by the moss is filtered and green, streaming through window-like gaps in the wicker dome.

For obvious reasons, most weather moves will have a lessened effect in this arena, as rain or hail will have a tough time getting through the intertwined branches. At the end of each round, there's a 25% chance that the moss will glow bright green for the entirety of the next round, at which point Grass-type Pokémon get a 2x STAB instead of a 1.5x, and Fire-types get no STAB.

Me thinks it's a profile.
