• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Closed The Labyrinth

((I didn't even know the answer to my own puzzle. Also, I didn't get what Kali said. Something about a domino, but you never mentioned it above, and also I don't see how it could fit into the grid in any way. Is it okay if you give me a less complicated description?))

you can place it in the top grid, which is 2x5

for instance, these are legal moves:

|R|_|_|_|_|
|B|_|_|_|_|
---------------
|_|_|_|_|_|
|R|B|_|_|_|
---------------
|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|B|R|_|
---------------
Or any other combination. The 2x5 grid is overtop of the 6x5 grid

((O.o That's more complicated than the last one. I don't think Darksong will understand. How do you make the domino move?))

Giza looked puzzled. "An amulet is a kind of jewel that is buried with the mummy that offers protection." She then narrowed her golden eyes. "You are not made to be here, in an Egyptian tomb without knowledge of what an amulet is."

Avalon looked confused. "An Egyptian tomb? This isn't a tomb, silly! And what's Egyptian anyway?" She flew around Giza's head, then flew in front of her. "Where were you headed? I was going that way, but you were going the other way." She pointed to Giza's back.

Once placed, the domino broke apart, releasing the two balls. The balls fell through gravity, with the red ball falling into the 6x5 grid at the top but in the same column, while the blue ball remained in the 2x5 grid, since there was no room in the larger grid. Momentarily, the scene looked like this:

|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|B|

|_|R|_|R|G|
|_|R|R|B|B|
|R|G|B|R|G|
|G|R|R|G|G|
|G|G|B|R|B|
|R|R|R|B|B|
---------------

Afterward, a buzzer sounded, and the grid returned to what it was before, with a new domino, still |R|B|, was replaced.

Gairran hesitated. For a while. She really had to be wise. Finally, she tried this combination:
|B|_|_|_|_|
|R|_|_|_|_|

The domino broke apart into the two balls, and the balls slid down, one on top of each other. But then an amazing thing happened. When the red ball settled, all of the red balls connected to it suddenly were pulled back into the wall. The blue ball then fell down into the lowest spot now vacated by red balls.

Final state:

|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_|

|_|_|_|_|G|
|_|_|_|B|B|
|B|G|B|R|G|
|G|R|R|G|G|
|G|G|B|R|B|
|R|R|R|B|B|
---------------

Once again, the buzzer sounded, and the grids returned to normal, with a new domino appearing

Giza looked confused. "Egyptian," she said slowly, as if though this tiny thing were dense (which she thought she was). "The Egyptians. A tomb, we're in one, where someone who died was sent. We are in a tomb, probably a marvelous one from the puzzle I just had to solve. So much fun," she sighed. "There's nothing back there anyway, but an empty room and the hall, and then that puzzle."

Avalon giggled. "Nothing? Are you sure? Well, let's go... that way then!" She began to point, then fly off, in the direction Giza was initially trying to go, acting as if it was her idea. After a little while, she gave a little explanation. "I did see another path, but I had chosen this one." She danced in the air as she flew, back toward where she began.

Eric continued along with the fairy, taking left turns and right turns. He soon got lost.

"Well, you wouldn't happen to know where we are, would you?"

Eric frowned.

"Alright, so we are lost in what appears to be a massive maze, where faeries live, which means that things such as Werewolves and Minotaurs could be living here too..." Eric then gulped. "Can I safely assume that we're screwed?"

(I want a puzzle...)
