So cute..! The minimalistic lines really work here. :D

I can't think of anything else to say, it's so late. ><

Pretty!

Question though, what do you use to do your lineart/vectors? Is it by hand, or do you have to use one of those vector programs? I ask because the lineart is very lovely and clean, but so uniform! Have you considered using more line weight in the things you digitally ink?

I've been varying line weight more recently than I used to but I haven't gotten around to cleaning up much lineart anytime lately so it doesn't really ... show.

I tend to ink things as a .png in GIMP (typically using the Circle (19) brush and erasing everything I don't want so I get some variation) and then use Inkscape's autotrace option. I fiddle with the autotraced vector a bit, but usually just end up blowing it up 300% or so. :/

Thanks, though!

oh skoot those are so cute!!
i love the herons!

and make a mess of your pots and pans <3

D'aaaaaaw. I love the geese and all the pond animals especially, and I really like how you do the lines, as well. How they're all minimal and neat, but kind of... bumpy and uneven, a little. It's very cute.

You should finish and color something!

EDIT: I looked at the stuff on the other page and it is equally adorable and awesome and I think you should color some more things even more now that I saw that lovely radish.

lineart is from forever and a day ago and I had part of the hair shaded already so I decided I wanted to make it look pretty. I'm never going to actually finish it (lineart sucks ass) but I like the hair. So yeah.

I like the flying cat in the previous pics. :3 It's lines are easy and flowing, and it gives me a serene feeling.

The hair-pic...
It looks all-right, but I think the hair needs a bit more extreme shading. I think it might look better when the light parts are accented by strong shades.
Now the hair looks like someone trapped a sea in there, which might be a pretty nifty idea if you expanded on it. :D

Re: the artichoke warriors

Time for mildly-disturbing and eyeless lineart! And I still don't feel like updating the first post.

Thanks! :D

Yeah, I use GIMP to colour, too. About the only thing I don't use GIMP for is a bit of the lineart, but that's after I've gotten it mostly done in GIMP, so even there. ... Mind you, I did a few things I've posted here in art class, which'd be Photoshop or occasionally Flash, but yeah.

Here's the XCF file, if you're interested. I use a couple layers for shading -- there, they're black and white, though I'm more likely to use actual colours these days -- where they're set to overlay, and I use Motion Blur set to radial (usually with the length at ... 10? Something like that) to get it smoother. I forget what brushes I tend to use. I know I've used the Vine brush a lot, though; the only brushes I reliably use that aren't default are both made by duplicating the default Circle brush, changing the radius to 12.5 and 25.5 respectively, and setting the Spacing to 5.0 so it'd actually look smooth. I think I usually set the brushes to fade out when colouring, too.

As far as the hair colour itself there goes, I had a somewhat-subtle radial gradient so it wouldn't obviously be all the same colour. :B

I love ranting about how I do stuff with GIMP :D
