UK-based Eurofags, I have a question

Also Britain puts Darwin on our money.
Does that mean there aren't any religious people here?

Anyway who says everyone here says 'bloody'?

The American word 'douche' is stupider.

I hate these America vs. EuropebutmainlyBritainbutmainlyEngland threads.

you didn't get the reference did you

Just out of curiosity if Americans use British English in schools, do they get marked wrong?

And which kind of English do other possibly non-English speaking countries learn?

We're taught you can use any kind of English spelling as long as you're consistent. If you use American rules it's fine but you have to consistently use them. Most people here use British spelling afaik

Another question:

UK---US
Jelly---Jello
Jam---Jelly
???---Jam

What do Americans mean by jam?

EDIT:
So they have two words for jam?

Like 'gas', yeah, I think so.

I never understood how petrol can be gas, and then every gas is also gas.
HOW MANY GASES.

Also, annoyingly most of the non-English speaking world learn American English pronunciation and more often than not, words. At least, non-European non-English speaking (tongue twister?) :/

Like all the Engrish you see, if there's an opportunity, usually American English will be there, and in Japan they learn American pronunciation. Which is pretty stupid because British pronunciation would be so much easier for all the Japanese kiddies. D:

Do you realize how fucking stupid your use of the word "bloody" sounds to the rest of the world?

EDIT: By Europeans I mean England, the rest of the UK and other commonwealth countries. And I think Australia uses it too. :V

EDIT(2): Topic title fixed!

I don't give a bloody toss, I bloody well like using the bloody word :(

Bloody yanks

edit: WHY AM I LATE FOR THE GREATEST BLOODY THREAD EVER ;-;

Like 'gas', yes.

I never understood how petrol can be gas, and then every gas is also gas.
HOW MANY GASES.

As many substances as there are in the universe. Gas is just an overhead term for the physical aggregate. Petrol is gas under certain circumstances, depending on the contents of the petrol (amount of octane etc etc), oxygen is a gas at standard conditions (298 K / 1 atm), etc. etc. Using gas as a word for petrol basically just means you're either administering the fuel as a gas, or it's short for gasoline which is a lol word.

Gasoline is just a shit term anyway.
