• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open Warriors: Rise of The BloodMoon

Gravelpaw looked up as the leaders seated themselves to start the Gathering, flicking her tail in pleasure. It had been a longer wait than usual.

Wonder what news there'll be, she wondered, looking around for Larkflight, her mentor. That's odd... He hasn't asked me any bizarre questions at all today. Hope he didn't wander off and get lost.

Bluebird looked up at her leader, and then took her position, shifting herself a bit. Her eyes were still bright as she kept her gaze on the four cats that were sitting on the branch, suddenly excited.

Everyone was getting more and more quiet. Icepelt noticed and got in position beckoning over to Frozenpaw who was new to this explaining how gatherings worked.

((Anyone explain how gatherings work, what my characters do and things?))

((EeveeSkitty: Uh, one of the leaders would start the Gathering, and each takes a turn to report what happened in the Clan. Like, any deaths, apprentices becoming warriors, kits being born, and attacks. You can leave out anything you want, it seems. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, FIRESTAR))

((Kay, I've read gatherings in the books but I never really 'got it'))

Thinking of what to say Goldenstar found there wasn't to much to say, there was nothing much to report that she knew of apart from 3 new kits in a little from Silverheart.

Sitting there she sighed, Frozenpaw was going become a Warrior today after the gathering, should she say that?

Still the Warrior name was undecided, but Frozenpaw seemed fond of Frozentail as her tail did look slightly like it was frozen, it was spiky and rather hard unlike the other fur on her body. It also had a tinge of very light blue in the right places so it did look rather frozen.

If the gathering wasn't just about to start she'd go down to see Goldenfeather who was always 'in' with the crowd which meant knowing events.

In fact the responsibility of being leader could actually ruin her social life as Goldenstar had it, but she wasn't the best at these things.

Goldenstar didn't notice she was staring into space and quickly looked around anxiously hoping no one noticed her drowsy state as she was known to be an enthusiastic but also rather serious leader and she doubted that enthusiastic or serious leaders stared random into space.

Rainpaw realized that the cat was already in a conversation, as his face fell. "Oh, are you busy? Sorry. I'll leave you alone..."

Suddenly, he heard Stealthstar, the ShadowClan leader, yowl for the Gathering to begin. Rainpaw, unsure what to do, simply stopped and turned toward the leaders.

Finally. The Gathering was starting. Swallowpaw sat and looked up at the leaders, silent with his tail swishing from side to side. He couldn't wait to hear the news that existed.

Goldenfeather noticed Rainpaw looking slightly lost so she went over to help her find her place in this gathering and explain what happens.

Goldenstar raised her paw and declared 'Let the gathering begin!'

((Uhh...I don't really know how or whatever so I randomly made something up XP))

((Kay))

'Okay, let's start. In Riverclan four new kits have been born all from the same litter from our oldest Queen Ravenflower. Also today...' Goldenstar hesitated before continuing '...today our Apprentice Frozenpaw will become a Warrior.' Icepelt patted Frozenpaw on the back.

'I suppose that's it' Goldenstar finished, with not much to report.

((Can't think of much...))

I might as well go next.
"Well, I'm sad to report that Fernstar has gone to StarClan, but in happier news the new deputy is Nettleflight, and Eaglefeather will soon have kits. The prey is running well."

((Not much is going on that I can think of))

Nettleflight made himself look taller, but he didn't want to boast his new position. His tail flicked with interest as Goldenstar spoke, and his ears flicked to pick up every word.

Swallowpaw was basically doing the same thing, except with less deputy-likeness.

Here we go...

"It saddens me to report that Smokestar passed on only a few days ago. I have traveled to the Moonpool to receive my Nine lives and my name. The prey runs well; there is little else to report."

No sooner did he finish that last word did- for the shortest of moments- the same scent from earlier slipped into his mouth. By the time he'd detected it again, it had faded once more.

Could I just be imagining all of this?
