Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open Wellspring Village

Savannah turned around to see that the odd girl was following her, apparently wanting to come too. She pondered for a moment; the feeling emanating from this person wasn't bad, so it wouldn't hurt bringing her along. "Sure," she replied after a few moments, and then turned around, beginning to walk towards the beach again. "I'm Savannah," she introduced, "but people tend to call me Hound for some reason."

Dakota laughed for a short time as she caught up with Savannah. "You already introduced yourself," she said with a small poke to her new friend, "but you didn't tell me that people call you Hound. That's kinda strange." She smiled yet again, and matched her pace with Savannah's. She turned expectantly in the direction of the beach.

Savannah seemed happier as soon as they reached the beach. The sun was absolutely perfect, and it made her feel like a normal Entei again, instead of one disguised as a human... she loved the way the sun seeped into her skin like some sort of distorted chemical that made her lightheaded. And the way her hair was warmed when she stepped into the direct light... that was perfect too. She thought of the word "calming," but decided it wasn't strong enough. There was another word that she was looking for, and it wasn't that. Her face became pensive as she scanned through her vocabulary for just the right word.

...Exquisite. That was it. This place was... exquisite. She suddenly felt the sand beneath her feet, and immediately slumped down. Her hands absently fumbled for the laces, and she immediately untied them and removed her socks, as well. Luckily she bathed often. But she just wanted to feel this warmth on her hind paws... what humans would call feet. It made her feel... her mind was too drowsy. She couldn't think of another word.

Once the beach came into sight, Dakota was instantly excited. She dashed forwards, past Savannah, and before she knew it she had splashed her feet into the salty water. It was icy-cold on her disguised paws; just like she had been used to it before the legendaries merged into life with humanity. She wished she could run off atop the water like her natural form was supposed to, but a Suicune -- let alone an alternately colored one -- would definitely attract attention, and someone was bound to catch her sooner or later. It was best to stay undercover.

She glanced back at Savannah, who appeared to be enjoying the sand rather than the water. She must have not liked water growing up, or she might have dived in right now. With a pang of realization, Dakota wished she had one of those strange tight skins humans wore that let them comfortably move through the water. Even before, she had never done more than duck her head underwater, which might look odd to the other humans here. If she had one of those tight skins, she might be able to try dog-paddling in the water like she had before. Maybe she could learn how to dive deeper. Her fur would get wet, but maybe she'd get used to it.

Savannah seemed to flinch as the other young woman jumped into the water. She didn't go past her feet, but it still made Savannah uncomfortable; she didn't like the idea of getting wet. Her clothes would get soggy, and they would feel heavy. They might not if she had a swimsuit -- human words were so odd -- but she thought it would feel awkward wearing one of those. It would be better to stay on warm, dry land, where she could feel the sand even when she had her... shoes on. Why did humans wear shoes anyway? Tenderfoots.

With a dismissing nod, Savannah's eyes began to wander. But the sand was boring and drab. She found herself beginning to gaze up at the sky, almost towards the sun. She was aware that human eyes were delicate and she shouldn't look straight at it, but she liked the endlessly bright appearance of the sky. It was almost more pleasant than the sand. It made her feel like she knew where she was for once...

Dakota enjoyed the sensation of salty water slapping her ankles for a second before turning her had. She realized that Savannah hadn't followed her. She was starting to get convinced that this person had more of an affinity for sand or fire than for water. But she was an ordinary human, right?

Dakota wondered if standing on the hot sand was Savannah's way of enjoyment. She obviously didn't like water; if she was a Pokemon, she'd probably be Fire, Rock or Ground-type. She appeared to like the sun and that ground-up rock. It puzzled Dakota, really ; what was to enjoy from sand on your paws that could possibly be burning-hot?

It was quite a few minutes before Savannah slid out of her reverie and began paying attention to the actual world around her again. As she absently glanced at her shadow, she noticed that the sun had made significant progress. She still wasn't sure about the time equivalent for humans, but she didn't spend too long on the idea; it didn't really matter to her anyway.

The disguised Volcano Pokemon's mind instead switched to a different human topic. Didn't humans work for each other or something? And then they got some sort of currency so they could buy stuff on which they would live? Hound only had a handful of money to pay her mortgage -- it was ridiculous how humans had to pay to live -- and furthermore, she still needed the bare resources. If she could earn some of that "money" -- the word rolled around in her mind in such an odd way -- then maybe she could make an easier living. She knew she could probably work at the nearby grocery store, but that was boring, sitting there, greeting people and punching in numbers all day. She wanted something that had to do with nature, not silly human stuff.

Then again, she was only the human equivalent of thirteen years old, just barely a teenager. She was already living alone. So how was she able to make a living if she couldn't apply for a job? There were people who made Pokemon their friends and battled with them, but... it didn't seem ideal. She would just have to sleep on it.

"It's getting close to time to head back," she noted, directing her voice towards Dakota, who was still daydreaming in the water.

Dakota would have twitched her ears had she been in her natural form right now. Savannah had said something about "heading back." But to where? Maybe to their houses. (Why in the world would humans stay inside all day, though?) She felt like she wanted to sleep outside, but apparently to humans that was dangerous, so she started stepping out of the water. The sudden dryness of the sand felt odd to her feet, but she stepped up about seven feet in front of Savannah. "To where?" she asked simply, tilting her head slightly.

"Most is enough for me to make assumptions." Matt grinned. "Matt. Thew. MatTHEW, but call me Matt or I'll pop you in the mouth." He wasn't quite sure, but something was off with this guy. He seemed a bit... Well, different. Hell, most people are these days. He couldn't explain it, but people in Wellspring were just starting to get plain wierd. Ah, what does it matter? Nothin'. That's what. I gotta' stop watching scifi movies. Sometimes.
