Closed X: The step into other worlds

"Yes, it is me." Adaye said, closing her eyes and raising her hands in an ethereal manner. "I know you all missed me, and now you're all happy to get the chance to bask in my glory..."
"No, not really." Raith muttered under his breath. Adaye heard so and slid over to him.
"Well, hello there, new one. What is your name?"
"Raith Cervenka, and who are you, dare I ask?"
"Adaye Fairbairn. You have quite the quick tongue."
"I tend to act on it, and could you please stop getting to close to me." Raith said, in a finishing tone. Adaye sighed with a smile on her face, then turned to the others.
"Then how is everyone else?"

"Just fine..." Darkness muttered.
"Sick..." Windfall coughed.
"Better than ever." Zora proclaimed confidently, as if it were obvious why. She was about to say something else, but she was interrupted by a snore from the chair in the corner, which Kirita was still sleeping in.

"Oh yes, congratulations!" Adaye said, clapping her hands together once happily. "I nearly forgot. Also, how many new people joined the new little group?" She glanced at Kirita and Raith.
"So I don't just go crazy on them with my flail, I need to know."

"Mmm, thank you." Zora chuckled, "I appreciate it."
"Let me see here..." Darkness mumbled, "We got Aidan's sister, there's Zora's friend who owns this house, Rai, Sephii, Kirita over there, Raith... I think that's it other than the ones who are coming later on."
"About right." Zora muttered, counting on her fingers for reassurance.
"The rest... I think are either working on the planning or they're sleeping or something..." Windfall groaned.

"Strange way to meet someone, but I'll take it." Adaye said, scanning the room, looking at the new people she hadn't met. Her eyes lingered for a moment on the sleeping Raiquen, but she pulled away nonetheless.

Zora would've noticed and responded to the fact that Adaye was looking at Rai, if not for two things. One, Cyndra was parading out of the hallway with a grin. Two, Kirita was fidgeting in the corner as if she were about to wake up.
"Oh Darkneeeesssss~!" Cyndra called, before seeing Adaye.
"Hey, look who showed up!"

"Ah, hello there!" Adaye greeted, smiling at Cyndra. It looked a bit forced, since Adaye had glanced again at Rai. To deter from it, Adaye quickly looked for something to do just to get out of this room.
"I think I should go see Rhythm for a minute." She muttered, walking down the hallway to his room.

This time, Zora really DID notice the glance, the forced smile.
"Something's up with her..." she muttered as she slipped behind her silently and followed.
"Wonder what's up with them." Cyndra murmured, turning to Darkness, "Oh, and I got the dress done."
"Excellent."

Adaye slowly checked the door. It didn't seem to be locked, so she turned the knob and opened the door.
"Rhythm?" She asked quietly, walking in. But as she scanned the room, there wasn't anything that showed that he was currently in the room. Then she saw the open window.

As she saw the empty room and open window, Zora gulped. He was gone. But... why?
"Aw no..." She groaned, breaking her cover. It wasn't so much that he was gone that worried her... Well it was, but she was also worried about if he would be back by tomorrow. She ran up, staring at the window as she did so.
"Oh no... He's gone..."
---
Meanwhile, Darkness perked up. She had turned back to the window to watch for the three flying shapes to move closer. And boy had they moved closer.
"That's them alright." she muttered, walking up to the door.

Adaye stuck her head out of the window, and looked all around the visible area.
"Where could he be...?" She asked, mostly to herself. Now she'd have to go back into the room with Raiquen, and that's what she was trying to get away from. For some reason, an overwhelming calmness suddenly came over her, and she turned around to Zora.
"We shouldn't worry...He'll be back in time..."

"You..." Zora had to stop herself for a moment as she regained her composure. Tears were beginning to well up in her eyes, and it burned to blink them back, but she did. A few deep, shuddering breaths later, she continued.
"You're right... We shouldn't worry quite yet..." she crossed her arms over her chest and rubbed her shoulders anxiously.
---
A curious Cyndra peered out the window at a shivering Darkness. Surely she couldn't last that long out there in this cold, even with the trenchcoat? But that's not made her do a double-take.
It was the girls she was waving in. There were three, each one having large draconic wings, a tail, and horns.
"You have to be kidding me..."

"No...Let's go back out, so the others don't think suspiciously..." Adaye muttered. The fact that Raiquen was out there still scared her, but she was going to try not to mind it.

"Yeah... let's go..." Zora mumbled. What was wrong with Adaye? She had been glancing at him, now she sounded nervous. But she was a friend, and if it would make her uncomfortable, she wouldn't ask her about it.
---
"Good Christ..." Cyndra muttered fascinatedly. She ambled up to the door as Darkness ran up to meet the three girls. They all looked similar, except for their hairstyles, their clothes and the fact that the wings and tail of each one was a different color. The one on the left had red, the middle one had yellow and the one on the right had icy blue. They each had dark brown hair and amber eyes.
"What the...?" Cyndra asked herself.

Adaye walked out of the room. With her acute eyesight, she could see out the window, and immediately ran up to it.
"There's three dragon girls out there. What the hell." She muttered. Unfortunately, the sound of her footsteps seemed to awaken Raiquen. Adaye noticed this, and just before he opened his eyes, she dove into another room.

Zora raised her eyebrow at her, before following her into the room she was in.
"OK, what is wrong?" she whispered, "I'm not going to bother you about this if you don't want to talk about it, but you seem afraid of him. And yes I saw the three dragon girls out there, they're friends of mine, to answer you."
Kirita awoke at the sound of footsteps and looked around. Everything seemed normal, until she got to the window.
"What the hell...?"

Adaye was silent for a moment, then looked up at Zora with pleading eyes.
"Raiquen...is my brother. I'm sure Rhythm's told you some stories about how he did some...regrettable things. What he always neglects to mention is that I helped him out during those times. Raiquen-" Her voice cracked, but she went on anyways. "Raiquen always looked up to me. I let him down by...by killing both of our parents. I still coldly remember that day... The blood all over the floor, Rai standing in it helplessly...That image...It burns into my mind..." Adaye stopped abruptly, and hung her head, sobbing.

"Your... brother... h-helped him... killed..." Zora repeated helplessly. She struggled to register what she had just been told. Yes she remembered the accounts Rhythm had told her of what he'd done. Yes she did have a feeling that Adaye was somehow involved. But now that she knew... she didn't know what to do.
"I... I'm not entirely sure what to say..." she muttered quietly, still trying to figure out what she was going to say. What did one say when something like that was unloaded upon them? She went with the first thing to come to mind.
"I... can't say I can ever view you the same way, but... I don't think any less of you..." Ah great. Now she wanted to reach out and hug her. The way she looked though, it wouldn't be a half bad idea. So that's exactly what she did.
"Just calm down... We'll get you through this... We should ease it on him gently, since... well, it's not going to be that easy hiding you... But just calm down, you're making me cry..." she began to sob.

"Zora, he...he wants to kill me. I know this...He's tried to before..." Adaye sobbed. No matter how many times she wiped away the tears, they kept flowing down her face. Silently and urgently, she tried to calm down as much as she could. Soon, the tears stopped coming down, but she started to shake.
""I...I can't face him again...That scar down his arm...What else could I have done?" Even though she was still being hugged by Zora, Adaye couldn't help but fall to her knees.
"I need to get out of here..."
