Closed X: The step into other worlds

"Oh my God!" Zora exclaimed. She kneeled down next to the beaten girl and groaned. What to do. She remembered what she'd done, but she looked so harmless now.
"Well, I'm not sure what to do with her... I want to take her to Spirit to see what she can do, but... it's your call."
-------------
A throwing star whizzed past Adaye and Raiquen and stuck to the wall. Spirit rounded the corner into the room and growled. She'd heard shouts, so she'd come running.
"Get off of him..." she growled ferociously, holding up her black staff as if she were to slam it into the ground and summon her massive golden sword. But she hadn't yet.
"Both of you, stop this."

"I don't trust her." Rhythm simply said. He stared at the bloodied Rayne for what seemed like forever, then finally took his gaze away.
"Alright. You get on my back and I'll carry her. Hopefully I won't crumble under the weight."
----------
"Listen to me!" Adaye screeched as Raiquen struggled to get free again. She was trying to ignore the others for as long as possible.
"Killing me will cause you no relief. I regret killing your...our parents, but killing me will not bring them back. We're siblings!" At this moment, she began to cry and could say no more.

"I... alright." Zora murmured, climbing onto his back. She pulled out her cell phone out of her pocket as soon as she was on him and dialed a number.
--------
Skye was about to go see what the yelling was about, when her phone went off. She pulled it out and flipped it open, pressing it to her ear as she did so.
"Hello? Hm... Mmhmm... I see. If he can't carry the weight just call me back and I'll be over a-sap."
--------
Spirit bit her lip. She was crying, he was still in her grip, and it was all getting very confusing. She wondered whether she'd have to call in Zora soon, but whatever she was doing with Rhythm was important and she didn't want to bother them. She also noticed that she was being ignored, but it was for the better unless she'd have to step in. Even if there was so much she wanted to say.

Rhythm picked up Rayne as carefully as he could, sighed, then launched into the air back towards the house. It was in his sights, but still quite far. With the weight that he had on, Rhythm knew that it would take longer than expected to reach the house.
----------
Adaye stared at Raiquen pleadingly, her tears falling on his shirt. After a depressing silence, Adaye got off of Raiquen.
"Think about it, Raiquen..." She muttered, turning and pushing past Spirit.

"No, I want you to come now. We can see the house from up here, but it's gonna take longer than it took to get here with this much weight." Zora reasoned into the phone.
"...Alright. Be right there." the voice on the other end said, before a click was heard and Zora snapped the phone shut and put it back into her pocket.
-----------
Skye rose from her chair and walked to the door. Her sisters watched her inquisitively, but did not say a word as she left. She launched into the air silently and flew toward the tiny figures in the distance.
----------
Spirit was speechless. And confused. As she was pushed past, she simply looked from Adaye to Raiquen and back a few times with her mouth hanging open slightly as if she were about to say something. But the confusion caught the words in her throat, and she said nothing.

Rhythm glanced down at the impending house, and he saw something flying towards them. He growled. If this was an enemy, it would be hard to fend off with this weight. But on the other hand, the flier came from the house, so it might be something helpful.
----------
Raiquen stumbled up, and dusted himself off.
"Yes, we're siblings. This is the last place I expected her to appear..." He muttered, "We seemed to hate each other since...that day, but I wonder why she's gone all soft."

"Oy! Over here!" Zora called out to the flier as it approached. It wasn't a few seconds later that something was doing vertical circles around them. When it stopped, the dragon girl grinned, showing glinting fangs.
"Give me the girl. You take Zora. With the weight spread evenly between us instead of you being loaded down, we'll be able to get back much faster and she'll have a greater chance at life." Skye explained as she started flying alongside them, "Just put her on my back. I got it from there."
-----------
"Rai..." Spirit began, "I think she truly doesn't hate you... I think she really means it. Zora told me the story right before she headed off with Rhythm. Said Adaye seemed really scared of what you might do to her. I think she's tired of having to run every time you're near. Please, just give her another chance."

Rhythm grinned. So it wasn't an enemy after all. He flew slightly above Skye, and lightly placed Rayne on her back. It was a relief to let her down, as he could now use his arms to cut the air ahead of them. He sped up as the house came nearer.
----------
"Spirit. She killed our parents. What kind of sick, twisted person would do that?" Raiquen asked. "I'm ashamed of her. I'm...afraid of her. She's tried to kill me more than once. But I can't say I'm much better..."

Skye followed at an equal pace, as Zora started swatting at some stray locks of hair that had fallen into her face. It wouldn't be too long now.
-----------
"Hmm... I see where you come from..." Spirit muttered, an expression of grief appearing on her face. She sat down on the bed and stared at the floor.
"Starlight... she killed our mother. The only parent we'd ever had, since our father had run off and never returned. I hated her for years after that, always attacking as soon as I saw her. But now we're inseparable. And do you know why...?" she paused a moment. Even now it hurt to talk about it, even after she'd forgiven Starlight many times over.
"Because eventually she became sick of hating me, and vice versa. However, even when I'd gotten sick of it, I still could not forgive her. It was a close friend who finally convinced me. And I don't regret having forgiven her. So you see, I understand where you're coming from, but I also see that sometimes, you should give them a chance."

As the house pulled nearer, Rhythm went into a long dive descent. The wind whipped his hair around his face, but he was soon able to touch down in front of the house.
"Phew. Finally."
----------
Raiquen sighed. He reminisced the day it had happened, and could still feel his parents fresh blood on his hands. Breaking out of reminiscence, he sighed again and fell into a chair.
"...I'll try. I'll try to forgive her. But there's no promises."

Skye landed a few seconds after that, as Zora got off of Rhythm.
"Right then," Zora began, "First thing is we need to get her out of this cold. She'll get hypothermia at this rate, and there's no telling how long she's been out here." she shivered a bit, "And we'd do well to get ourselves out of it too. I'll go find Spirit." she ran up toward the house, first peering into the window of Spirit's room. No one there. Then she looked through at her own room. No one in there either, which wasn't necessarily a good sign.
"Aw no..." she whispered to herself, before hearing voices out of Raiquen's window.
--------------
"Yes, that's all I ask." Spirit sighed as she stared toward the open window. The stinging memory still stabbed at her heart.
"All you can do is try..." that's when Zora popped up in front of the window, nearly knocking her out of the chair in surprise.
"Spirit, we need you urgently out here. As soon as possible."
"Um. Alright..." Spirit rose up clumsily, making for the front door as Skye went around with the injured Rayne to meet her.

Rhythm quickly morphed into a kitsune to try and resist the cold. It would do him well for a couple of minutes, but that was it. He followed Skye, staring at Rayne with mixed emotions. He jumped back as Rayne emitted a quiet moan.
"So she's still alive, then..."
----------
Raiquen sat, thinking deeply. From the tears on his shirt, to the way Adaye had spoken to him, Rai decided that she was really regretting killing their parents. He got up, brushed his hair out of his face, and went to look for his sister.

"Spirit, did you bring the bag out with you?" Zora asked as she rounded the corner a second later.
"Ah sorry, I was dealing with a bit of a situation. Hold on." she reached into the door, pulled the black purse off of the hook and started going through it as Zora groaned.
"They saw each other, didn't they?"
"They did. I managed to convince Rai to try to forgive her." Spirit mumbled, pulling out a blanket and draping it over the wounded, "We need to get her inside. No way she'll warm up out here, and she's at even further risk if we keep her out here. Thank God you got her here now though. A little later and she would've been screwed, but... why her?"
"I... I honestly felt like we couldn't just leave her to die. Especially since we have no idea what did this to her. But still, I need to know. Is someone monitoring them?"
"I have Starlight on it..." Spirit began to stare out into space for a moment, lost in memory, but a swift smack from Skye's tail snapped her back into reality.
----------
Starlight crept silently behind Raiquen. She'd been ordered to monitor the situation by a Spirit who seemed a bit... distracted. But nonetheless, if what she was doing was really as urgent as what Starlight had been told, then the distractedness didn't matter. And hopefully no one would follow her and blow cover, since she had expressly made clear that if they DID, she would not hesitate to attack them.

Rhythm growled. All this talk about how Rayne wouldn't get better outside, and yet they hadn't done anything. But, he wouldn't say a single thing. Rayne was still an enemy to him.
----------
At last, Raiquen found Adaye in an unoccupied room. She was sitting on a chair, staring out the window silently. She was no longer crying, but she looked saddened. Rai gulped, and stared at the ground, afraid and resentful to do this.

As Spirit and Skye carried her inside carefully, Zora turned to Rhythm at his growl.
"Look. I don't trust her either, alright? But it's the right thing to do. Even if you or I don't like it." she sighed, "Now Spirit's got this. It's out of our hands for now. Let's just go inside so we ourselves don' get sick. Unless you don't want to. That's fine too..."
----------
"Lay her down gently." Spirit mumbled, glaring at Skye who was about to just drop her on the bed of the empty room carelessly. Skye obliged grudgingly, setting her on it as carefully as she could. It was then that Spirit got to work.
"I need you to get me some water. We're gonna have to clean her up too."
"Right." Skye trtted out of the room as Spirit continued to look over the injuries.
------------
Starlight remained silent as she watched this. What would happen next?

Rhythm growled again, but cut it off and stared at the ground. It was the fact that this had happened right before the wedding, and if Rayne decided to do anything, it would be terrible. But he had to live with it. Rhythm brushed against Zora's leg, then headed inside.
----------
Raiquen continued staring at the ground for a minute longer, then sighed. He had to do this. Resentfully, he walked into the room. Adaye turned at the sound of his footsteps, then gasped as she saw who it was.
"Adaye, listen...Spirit was able to convince me...I trust that you really do regret killing them..."

Zora followed solemnly after him. Her mind was immersed in thought. But then, she would be heavily guarded, and Spirit alone was more than capable of taking her on (Zora chuckled as she thought of Rayne pinned to the wall by a bunch of shuriken, with Spirit's huge-ass sword pressed against her neck). Once inside, she sat in a chair and shivered as Skye walked past with a fairly large bowl of water.
-------------
Spirit looked up at the sound of footsteps, and watched as Skye set the bowl of water next to her. She reached into the bag and pulled out a small cloth, then dipped it in said water.
"Thank you." she muttered as she started cleaning her off.
"You're welcome."
-----------
Starlight nearly groaned, but held it in.
She told them the story...
