Closed X: The step into other worlds

Mist snickered at this bickering, then examined the room a bit more before taking a book from the nearest table. He skimmed through the pages, before turning back to the beginning and starting to read. Raiquen glanced around, and, seeing nothing interesting happening, went back to his room.
----------
Rhythm yawned once more, before laying down next to Zora. He sighed.
"Hm, this is a comfortable bed..." He realized, stretching without hitting Zora and sighing again.

Darkness blinked at Mist.
"Whossat?"
"He's Mist. He's the reason we left earlier." Spirit replied, watching her sit down.
"Ohhh. OK."
-----------
"That's what I said..." Zora muttered. She heard him sigh, and stared.
"Is there anything wrong...?"

Mist ignored them, engulfed in the book. Although, no matter how much he tried to stray his thoughts away from his guilt, he just couldn't. Sighing, he closed the book and went back into the room where Rayne was. That's when she awoke suddenly and saw him in the doorframe.
"Mist...?"
----------
Rhythm looked at her for a moment, then shook his head.
"No, nothing's wrong...Tired, I suppose..."

Starlight, distracted by something else, jumped when she heard Rayne speak. She whipped around quickly, exhaling when she saw Mist in the doorway.
"Oh, it's only you..."
----------------
"Mmm... OK..." Zora mumbled. She curled up into a ball, then continued to stare at him.

Mist dashed to her bedside, grabbing her hand and holding it tenderly. Rayne looked quite pleased to see him. Although with a few scratches on his face, he still looked beautiful in her eyes.
"I can't say how much it pleases me to see you awake and alive again..." Mist muttered. He then turned to Starlight.
"Thank you. You and all the others for returning her to me..."
----------
Rhythm smiled. Zora looked cute like that. Still smiling, he put one arm over her and dragged her closer. It had been a while since he had gotten to see her deep green eyes so close up.

"You're welcome." Starlight laughed. Truly, it was a beautiful sight.
"I assume you would like to be alone, yes?"
Spirit quickly poked her head in, then pulled it back out.
"They look happy..." she mused to herself.
-------------
Zora flinched as she was pulled closer, but smiled all the same. Even the touch of just one arm warmed her. That and his smile was adorable.

"I believe we would like to be alone." Mist said, pulling up a chair and all the while not letting go of Rayne's hand.
"Yes, please. That is, if you don't mind..." Rayne muttered, glancing at Starlight before returning her gaze to Mist.
----------
Rhythm took his arm off for a second, then pulled her into a hug.
"My my, you're cold. We can't have that."

"Have it your way." Starlight sang, exiting the room. She blinked at Spirit as she saw her standing there.
"Oh. Hello. Were you standing there this whole time?"
"...Maybe."
-------------
Zora sighed as she was pulled into the hug, then returned his embrace contentedly.
"No, we can't..." she mumbled, nuzzling him warmly.

When Starlight left the room, Mist turned to Rayne with a peaceful look.
"I didn't think you were going to make it..." He muttered. Rayne reached up painfully, and stroked his hair.
"I did, though, and that's what matters...Isn't it?"
"I suppose so. Now, Rayne, tell me...What happened?"
----------
Rhythm smiled, and nuzzled her back before having an idea and morphing back into a kitsune. He grinned, before brushing against her like he was doing earlier.

"Well we should leave them then." Starlight suggested.
"Aye, you're right." Spirit agreed. They both then walked out of the hallway, only to see that Darkness had demolished another two plates of food.
"Um... Darkness? You feeling alright?" Spirit asked cautiously.
"What? I can't be hungry?"
--------------
Zora twitched slightly, then she loosened up and purred. She didn't really know why she liked that so much, but whatever it was she wouldn't complain.

As Rayne finished the story, Mist growled.
"So that was the girl who attacked me...I knew she was somewhat familiar."
"Yes, but...let's not dwell on it any longer than we need to." Rayne said, sighing. Mist also sighed.
"I suppose you're right."
----------
As Rhythm continued to brush against her, he noticed something. Zora was insanely cold, and that made him wonder how long she had been out. So he stopped brushing for a moment, and looked at her.
"How long were you outside?"

"Well sooooorry!" Spirit snapped, "We couldn't exactly turn back, you know."
"Exactly." Starlight muttered dully.
--------
Zora shivered as he stopped. It was warm in the room, and she had just now noticed how cold she was.
"A little while... It only took a few minutes... Not really sure how long it took, but it was short... I'm cold..."

Mist and Rayne were both silent for a bit, then Mist stood up.
"Where are you going?" Rayne asked.
"Just outside. You need rest, dear." Mist replied, kissing her before leaving the room. Rayne smiled, turned over and tried to fall asleep.
----------
Rhythm stared at her for a moment, then brushed against her once more before morphing back to normal. He immediately wrapped her in a tight hug, wings also wrapped around them.

((AWWWWW ^^))

"Yes, hopefully..." Spirit groaned, getting up, walking into the nearby kitchen herself and pulling a soda out of the fridge. She then proceeded to flop back into the chair carelessly and open it.
----------
Zora sighed happily. Sure she was freezing, but the warmth of his hug and his wings would soon take that away. She was certain of it, and the softness of his feathers made her want to melt away into them.

Mist nearly slammed into Jax as she ran by, but he disregarded such and fell into a chair once he reached the main room. He then picked up the book he was reading earlier and continued.
----------
Rhythm grimaced for a moment due to the cold, then as she started warming up, he began to smile. He felt like he could spend his entire life like this.

Spirit glanced up at Mist as he sat and started to read, but soon was occupied by the insanely stubborn lid on the soda bottle she had pulled from the fridge.
"Grr..."
-------------
Zora could feel herself beginning to warm up, and she smiled as well. Everything about this was perfect, to her.
"So nice..." she murmured.
