Closed X: The step into other worlds

Mist glanced at Spirit, then turned back to his book, snickering. But again, his attention drifted away from the book, so he simply closed it and lay lazily in his chair.
----------
Rhythm reached up with one hand, and began to softly stroke Zora's hair. His wing twitched from being in such a strange position, but he disregarded that.

Spirit twisted at the cap with all her strength, but still it would not come off. So she grabbed it with her teeth and twisted as hard as she could. When that didn't work, the frustration she was feeling became apparent in her facial expression.
"God damn it..."
----------------
Zora shivered with pleasure when she felt his hand through her hair.
"Oohh..." she muttered, as she brought her head closer to him. She did this, in part, to alleviate his wing of its strange position, since she had seen it twitch.

Mist was now trying to hold back a full-blown laugh. He took a few deep breaths, then looked back up at Spirit and could no longer hold it in.
----------
Rhythm continued stroking her hair. He was now able to use his wing quite like a blanket, covering her with it. Peacefulness took him over, and he slowly began to grow tired again.

"OK, you ain't helping." Spirit muttered.
"Face it Spirit. You DO look kinda ridiculous." Darkness reasoned.
"Shut uuup."
"No."
-----------
Zora snuggled up to him comfortably. Now fully warmed up, she began to feel more tired herself, and she yawned.
"Mmm..."

Mist was about to respond, when he heard a large explosion from outside the house. He jumped in shock, then stood up and looked out of the window.
"What the hell was that...?"
----------
Rhythm was nearly asleep, when he heard and felt the explosion. He blinked, then glanced out the window. There wasn't anything he could see.
"Err..."

Both Spirit and Darkness jumped up at the sound of the explosion. Starlight whipped around wildly, looking for what had caused that massive sound.
"What the...?"
The noise woke a sleeping Kirita, and she glanced around slowly.
"Wha...?"
------------
Zora jumped. The explosion had given her a start, and she embraced Rhythm tightly and whimpered.
"That scared me..." she moaned tiredly.

Mist continued to look around through the window, then blinked and walked over to the door. Quickly dashing outside, he found that the wind was now speeding up, and there was no sign of anything that had caused that sound. He ran back inside, panting.
"There's nothing out there..."
----------
Rhythm scanned outside one more time, before turning back to Zora.
"Don't be afraid...It was probably only a tree..." Although, even as he said it, he knew that's not what caused that explosion. Just what did?

"What the hell wassat...?" Kirita asked groggily. Starlight turned to her.
"I... don't know. I really don't. There doesn't seem to be anything out there..."
"At least it got you out of that stupor you've been in pretty much since you walked out here..." Spirit grumbled. Kirita glared at her.
"Shut up..."
---------------
"Yuh-you're right... Probably only a tree..." Zora repeated timidly. She didn't really believe it herself, but why question? As long as he didn't leave, she wouldn't, and she tightened her embrace just a bit.

As soon as Mist looked out the window again, another explosion literally shook the house. He lost his balance, falling into a chair. Before he could do anything, Raith rushed into the room, gasping.
"Yvette. She's here."
----------
As the stronger explosion hit, Rhythm gripped Zora tightly, pulling her close to him. Glancing out the window again, he saw nothing.
"What the hell keeps causing that...?"

"Y...Yvette?" Jax asked, 'Who's she?"

(If we had met up, let's say Jax got some amnesia from a guy hitting her over the head with a fire extinguisher.)

"What?! Fuck!" Spirit roared, grabbing her staff and slamming it into the ground with tremendous force. Her huge gold sword materialized, and the shuriken holsters and kunai appeared at her waist.
"What do you want me to do?" she asked Raith hurriedly.
"Who-" Kirita began to ask, but Starlight shushed her.
"Never mind that! Hell, I'm not even sure who she is! You... go hide! We'll take care of this!" she summoned her two black katanas and hissed. Kirita immediately ran off to hide, darting straight into the first room she saw. Starlight turned to the three demons.
"Raven, go protect Rhythm and Zora, but don't let them know what's going on! Skye, Anseyu! Go with Mist and keep guard on Rayne!"
The three demon girls saluted, and all three went to their stations. That is, Skye and Raven flew outside to guard the windows, while Anseyu darted into the room Rayne was in. Darkness, meanwhile, turned to Raith.
"She's the one Aidan had the location of yesterday, right? Tell me what to do!"
----------------
Zora again jumped, then started trembling as she was pulled close. It was helping, but she was still scared to no end.
"I don't know... Rhythm don't leave me here..." you could tell she was terrified of the explosions, and she had a feeling whatever was causing them wasn't good at all.

Sephii stood up, almost fully recovered.

"Shall I go with you?" Sephii said, runninhg out.

Jax grabbed a flail and a longsword from her weapons chest. Deax grabbed a scythe, spike gloves and boots, and a giant axe.

Raith growled. Yvette's presence was growing weaker, and he had no time to explain to anybody what they should do. He rushed outside into the freezing wind. Blinking, he saw two figures dashing away from the house. Quickly, Raith flew after them. So quickly that he didn't hear Mist's voice over the wind. It would be a big mistake.
----------
Rhythm held Zora tighter, sighing. This was a rare time, when he actually felt scared. Scared to leave Zora. Scared that something might injure them. Because of this fear, Rhythm started to shake a bit, before taking a few deep breaths and waiting for all this to stop.

"Fuck, he's run off!" Spirit cried, sticking her head out the door. She inhaled deeply, then shouted as loud as she could
"RAITH! PLEASE, GET BACK HERE!!" she called.
"What if you don't get a response?!" Starlight exclaimed.
"You're right! Go get Anseyu! I'm going to need a flier if he doesn't come back!"
Starlight nodded, then dashed into the room and grabbed the yellow-winged demon.
-------------------
Zora continued to tremble, and a few tears fell from her face. She was truly terrified that something might happen, and for that she was thanking God that at least she was with Rhythm right now.
"S-scared..."

Raith heard a voice behind him, and turned. The house was still in view, and he could still hear the slush of Yvette going through the snow. Sighing, he turned around to pursue Yvette, only to feel a piercing pain in his chest as soon as he turned around. Gasping, he glanced down to see a sword gone through his torso, and felt blood falling down his chest. He strained up to see his attacker, but all he saw was black, messy hair and bright, feral yellow eyes before it went black.
----------
"Calm down, Zora..." Rhythm said, nuzzling her softly. He didn't like the fact that all the commotion was happening before his wedding, but he'd have to go along with it. As long as he had Zora, he would be fine.

Sephii, Jax, and Deax ran out of the house.

"Don't worry about us." Deax called, stroking her giant axe.

"Aw fuck... Starlight did you see that?!" Spirit screeched.
"Yes, yes I saw that!!" Starlight yelled, "I'll take the attacker, you get him in!"
"Other way around, sis! I wanna take this one!" and without warning, Spirit dashed out into the snow. She was carrying the staff without the sword, to make it easier to carry, but the shuriken holsters and kunai were still at her waist. So she grabbed some and threw them at the attacker while Starlight followed to intercept Raith.
Then Spirit realized just who he was.
"Desaul...?" that fact wouldn't stop her from attacking though. No, not if he was gonna attack one of their own, even if he didn't know he was.
--------------
Zora took a few deep breaths, and her trembling ceased. Even if she was still scared, if Rhythm was there she knew she'd be fine.
"I'm trying, dear, I'm trying..." she whispered.

Desaul directed his gaze from Raith, to the blond in front of him.
"Hello, Spirit. How's it going? Nice weather lately, huh?" He said, putting on a casual tone. When he spoke again, however, it had turned darker.
"I'm afraid this touching reunion will have to be cut short, however. I have some business to attend to."
----------
Rhythm nuzzled her again, before sighing and letting both his arms and his wings fall limp. He was beginning to feel tired again, but he didn't want to fall asleep with all this going on. If another explosion awoke him, he would be quite angry.

"Oh no you don't." Spirit snapped, her blue eyes blazing with anger, "No excuses. I want to know why you attacked him." she readied to slam the staff into the ground, but held it instead in case he would talk without a fight.
Meanwhile, Starlight snuck behind him, aiming to grab Raith and run if a fight started.
-----------
Darkness stuck her head out the door and growled.
"Desaul... that rat. That traitor... What the hell is his deal?!" her eyes were almost beginning to turn draconic.
------------
Zora sighed as well.
"Hmmm..." she muttered as she felt his arms and his wings go limp, "You're tired, I can tell by the way you just went limp like that... I am too, but what if there's another explosion...?"
