Closed X: The step into other worlds

Spirit sat back down, only looking up once when Darkness rushed past again. Her mind was full, and she hated it when that happened.
He can't really be all that sincere about it... Maybe he didn't know... After all, Raith really didn't show up until after Desaul got left behind... But still, what if he IS sincere-No.. Don't think like that... She shook her head violently to clear the thoughts away.
---------------
Starlight had finished mixing together most of the ingredients in a clean vial when Darkness rushed back in with a salt shaker. She looked up and held her hand out.
"Great." she muttered as the shaker fell into her possession. Unscrewing the lid, she poured about a quarter of it into the clear red liquid and stirred it with a small wooden skewer.
"Finished." she walked over to Raith, "I want you to drink this. Might not taste very good, but it should get rid of that poison."

Rayne cursed, since she already had a guess of who Mist was talking about.
"What was she here for? Do you know?" She asked. Mist shook his head.
"No. But the others are angry because apparently one of their own joined up with that girl."
"That's not good..."
----------
Raith grabbed the vial, took one last scratchy, deep breath, and drank it. Almost immediately after the liquid touched his mouth, he felt an overwhelming urge to cough. He overcame it and finished off the vial before coughing violently.

"It's really not..." Spirit mumbled. She had gotten up to hopefully clear her mind of this, and had wandered in here.
"Sorry to disturb you... I was the one who faced him... I can't seem to shake all the thoughts... So I stood up and started wandering and I guess I ended up in here..."
----------------
Starlight smirked a bit.
"I warned you."
"Oy..." Darkness sighed, moving over to Raith with a concerned look on her face.
"Well how are you feeling then?"
"Antidote should start to work as soon as swallowed, so he should be feeling better shortly."

Mist and Rayne jumped at the sound of Spirit's voice. Rayne looked askance at Mist, then back at Spirit.
"Mmm, well, I don't mind." Rayne said, glancing at Mist. "Do you?"
"Not really." They were silent for a while, then Mist looked up at Spirit.
"Is it just coincidence, or does Desaul or whatever really have something...dark, about him?"
----------
Raith coughed once more, then felt his breathing return to normal. He breathed a sigh of relief.
"I'm fine now...Thanks, you guys..."

"Great that you don't mind... Well, I'd suppose it's only coincidence that he does." Spirit sighed, "We've all been good friends for such a long time, I just can't understand why he'd..." she paused. They could fill in the blanks.
"Look, can we change the subject? I really just want to get my mind off of it for a while." she sighed and sat in a nearby chair.
-------

"You're welcome. God, you looked awful." Starlight stated, "And you lost a lot of blood. I'm just glad you're OK now. Now lay down and rest. You need it."
"Really." Darkness agreed, "If you need anything, just ask, alright? Don't stress yourself."

"Guess he's not here." Deax said, turning back to herself again.

Deax sighed and walked back to the house.

Neither Mist nor Rayne said anything else. Mist simply was too preoccupied in the situation that he couldn't think of anything else, and Rayne was too tired to bother stirring up conversation.
----------
As soon as Starlight mentioned blood, Raith swayed blearily, his mind just now catching up to his blood loss. He lay back down on the bed, and blinked up at the two.
"Thank you..." He muttered, before falling asleep.

Spirit just sighed. She glanced up at the two, then began to hum quietly to herself to avert her mind from the situation. She noted that Mist looked worried, and figured this was weighing just as heavily on his mind as hers, even though he hadn't really known Desaul. And Rayne just plain looked tired, but she could hardly be blamed for that.
---------------
"You're welcome." Starlight whispered. As soon as he had fallen asleep, she walked over and covered him with the blanket on the bed. Darkness looked up at her.
"Think he'll be alright?"
"He's recovering fine." Starlight assured her, "He'll be OK."

Deax walked through the door.

"Why?" she sobbed, "Yvette...."

She let out a growl, but stopped herself from changing.

Mist stayed silent, the question of why Desaul would do something like that floating around in his head. Eventually, he stood up and stretched.
"I think I'm going to head outside. It's too hot for me in here..." He muttered, walking out. Rayne sighed, and lay back down on the bed.
----------
Aidan stared up at Deax as she walked through the door, and he was about to say something, but decided against it. He thought it would be better to leave the issue with her, and so he turned his head to one side and began staring at the wall again.

Spirit watched wordlessly as Mist walked out.
"If something happens then Starlight'll catch it... She's probably finished with Raith by now..." she muttered, mostly to herself. She glanced once at Rayne, almost wishing she would say something to take Spirit's mind off of this.
------------
Darkness opened and stuck her head out the window.
"Raven, can you come in here?"
The demon complied, flying in then shutting the window.
"I saw what happened."
"Yes... can you tend to Raith? Starlight's hungry and is going to get some food and I need to talk to Aidan about something..."
"Alright."
With that, Darkness left the room, followed by Starlight. She then went and sat next to Aidan, sighing.
"I can't understand it..."

Rayne saw the glance, and sighed. It was obvious that Spirit needed something to occupy her mind other than the incident. But Rayne couldn't think of anything to say. So she simply lay there, waiting for Mist to get back.
----------
Aidan glanced up at Deax.
"Nothing, nothing..." He muttered, before jumping out of shock when Darkness spoke. He hadn't expected to see her.
"Understand...what?"

Spirit stared out the window for a moment, before turning around.
"So..." she muttered. It wouldn't hurt to get some form of discussion started, though she was having trouble thinking of a topic.
"How are you feeling...?"
-------------
"It's... nothing." Darkness mumbled. It was a bit of a lie, since it was the whole Desaul thing that was bothering her so much that she would need to talk to him, but she didn't want to bring it up.

"I've been better...All this stress is weighing a ton on my mind..." Rayne muttered, sighing. Then, she thought up another topic.
"Hey, I heard that you got yourself a boyfriend. How is he?"
----------
Aidan smiled, hugging her playfully.
"You can't lie very well, Darkness. It shows on your face. But it's probably personal, so I won't pester you."

Spirit smiled. She'd gone and picked the perfect topic, considering Spirit hadn't told very many people. Word must've gotten around, she figured.
"Oh... Yeah, I did. His name's Frigo, and he's doing just fine. You'll probably get to meet him if he decides to show up tomorrow."
---------
"I know, I know... I know I can't lie too well..." Darkness chuckled. She grinned sheepishly, and hugged him back with one arm.
"That made me feel better... Thanks."

Rayne sat up in the bed, interested. What she had heard was only a rumor from Opal, and now it was confirmed.
"So you do have one..." She muttered to herself. Then she looked at Spirit, smiling.
"How cute is he?"
----------
"Mmm, no problem." Aidan said, nuzzling her once before yawning and stretching.
"Gah, I don't know what I'm so tired from..."

"Absolutely gorgeous, if I do say so myself." Spirit laughed, "I have a picture of him here somewhere..." she fumbled through the pocket near the waist of her dress, and eventually managed to get her fingers around a white leather wallet. She flipped it open and pulled out a small photo. It was of a young man with amber eyes and light brown hair, with a wide grin on his face.
"Here we are." she showed it to her, "This'd be him."
--------------
Darkness blinked, before beginning to play with his hair boredly.
"I have no idea. I guess it's just one of those days." she muttered.
