• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Closed X: The step into other worlds

((You kinda cut off there, hun. >>))

Spirit sighed again. The thoughts were coming back. That and the snow outside was beginning to accumulate, so what about tomorrow? Then again this house did have that huge basement that they could use, and it wasn't like they were gonna decorate just yet anyway. And everyone in the room was asleep.
"Hm..."
------------
"Sorry, sorry..." Darkness moaned, loosening her grip. She sniffled. Oh how she wished she could fix it right now and make him better...

Aidan sighed, lifting up his other hand to reach over and stroke Darkness's hair. He could still see some worry in her face, and he sighed.
"Listen, dear, it's going to be fine. I know it's worrying, but please, trust me. It's going to be fine..."

Darkness sighed, letting him stroke her hair. It was nice to have him reassure her; something she didn't often need.
"I know honey... You're you, I don't know why I'm this worried... At least you're mostly OK... It could've been worse..." the worry slowly melted off of her face, and again she sighed.

Aidan turned his attention to Jax.
"I think we noticed..." He said, still stroking Darkness's hair. "I forgive you, since I know it was meant as a joke, but...I dunno about Darkness..."

"No, I forgive her..." Darkness mumbled. She rested her head on Aidan's shoulder and sighed. This gave her a sense of peace, as without Aidan doing what he was she would've attempted to rip Jax limb from limb. It made her tranquil, in a sense.
"It was only a joke after all..."

"Mm-hmm." Aidan agreed, kissing Darkness on top of the head before standing up and stretching.
"I don't know about you, but I am quite tired. And it's getting to be sunset outside. So I think I'll head in. For now, at least." He said, walking to his room.

"OK, dear..." Darkness sighed, watching him go. She then felt herself being hugged, but simply turned her head to watch the snow fall. It was almost hypnotic, and she didn't even notice things like that Windfall had awoken and trodded off toward her room, or that Kirita had poked her head out of a room adjacent to that.
"Can I come out yet? Where's Rai?"

Kirita stared expectantly at Darkness.
"Well, do you?"
"Not really. I think he was in his room sleeping last I checked." Darkness replied.
"Oh. Well, I won't bug him then." Kirita muttered, walking out and pulling up a nearby seat.

"Well, I WAS asleep..." Raiquen muttered, coming out of the hallway and hearing the conversation. "Until I heard a loud sound. Scared the living daylights out of me."
"I think that was me. Sorry." Aidan muttered, pointing at his eye.
"What happened to you?"
"Boot to the head."

Jax couldn't help letting out a snicker. She grinned.

"Sorry, it was kinda funny." Jax said, "Even though I did it."

"Yeah, I heard that." Kirita muttered, leaning back in the chair and staring at where Aidan had been struck.
"Looks like it must have been painful."
Darkness sighed.
"I just hope it gets better..."
"It will." Starlight stated, "Trust me."
"You'd better be right..."

"Pain faded away. Although it feels like I can't see, but that's probably just the bandage." Aidan said, stretching out in his chair.
"Hopefully." Raiquen muttered, taking a random seat.
"Eh, it's only one eye, it won't matter too much."

"Mmm..." Kirita nodded slowly. She looked at him a second longer before turning to the window. Darkness glanced at Aidan.
"Seems like you're pretty OK with it... Alright then..."
Starlight blinked at her.
"You OK?"
"I'll be fine..."

Aidan turned his head towards Darkness, in a slightly annoyed manner.
"You worry too much, dear." He said, turning away and staring out the window boredly.
"She's got reason to be worried, ya know." Raiquen muttered.
"Yeah, well, still."

Darkness snorted indignantly, then said no more on the subject. She felt spurned, but she knew she shouldn't open her mouth right now. Doing so could cost her the love of her life. Instead, she took to fiddling around with one of the little straps on her coat. Both Starlight and Kirita glanced at her, but neither seemed particularly interested even though they knew why she was doing it.
"Hrmmm..." Kirita muttered, eying a book sitting on the table next to her. Starlight looked around the room a few times, before sighing.
"So."
