Closed X: The step into other worlds

Aidan stared out the window, watching the snow fall and on the verge of sleep, when the door banged open and he was abruptly jolted out of his trance. Adjusting his vision, he saw a familiar raven-haired girl standing there. Quickly, he stood up, ready to fight.
"Calm down boy, I'm not here to fight." Opal growled.

"Then leave us alone." Jax snarled, balli ng her hand into a fist, "Or else...."

She grabbed a computer and giant speakers.

(REMEMBER THANKSGIVING '08)

Darkness stood up abruptly, growling.
"Then just what do you want?!"
Kirita blinked cluelessly.
"Who-" she was cut off by Starlight.
"Don't ask now. We'll tell you later." with that, she turned to Opal, ready to summon her katanas at any sign of an attack. She said nothing, just glared at her with a look filled with daggers and venom.
"Why are you here?"
Now, Raven and Skye, who were still outside, had heard the door being kicked in and rushed to see what the commotion was about. As they peered in through the window, they gasped.
"That's the girl who was attacking Mist..." Raven whispered.

Opal looked around the room, before speaking again.
"I notice that Zor isn't with you. Where is she?"
"Why do you need her?" Raiquen asked, fingers tapping his blade.
"I need to speak with her privately, but now I realize how hard that's going to be. You'll probably have guardians listening to every word we say, so disregard my being here. Sorry for the intrusion." With that, Opal turned on her heel and walked out into the snow.

"Wait!" Darkness called, dashing into the snow after her, "If you need to talk with her privately, I'll go wake her up. There is no one here who would listen in if she said not to, except maybe Jax but she's an insolent idiot anyway." she nodded at Starlight, who had followed her to the edge of the door, and she blinked.
"Might as well..."
-----------
Zora was sleeping peacefully when the telepathic message aroused her.
Wake up.
What is it...?
There's um... someone here for you.
Who?
You might not like what I'm about to say, but... It's Opal.
Zora nearly sat bolt upright, but didn't and lay still as not to wake Rhythm.
What?! Why is she here?!
She said she needed to speak with you privately. That's all she said.
...Fine. I expect Darkness is out there too reasoning with her?
Yeah.
Then let her know that I'll try and be out shortly. I don't want to wake Rhythm, so I have to get up carefully so he doesn't.
She sighed and glanced at her fiancé. If he did wake, she'd tell him she needed to use the bathroom and would be back shortly. And with that thought in mind, she gently removed his hand from around her.
-----------
Starlight then stepped out.
"She'll be out momentarily."

Rhythm twitched a bit, opened his eyes wearily, and looked up at Zora. Blinking in speculation, he turned over eventually and began to fall back asleep.
----------
Opal sighed, crossed her arms, and glared.
"Make it quick, will you? I need to get back to Yvette before she notices I'm missing."

Zora kissed the top of his head before sighing.
"I'm only going to the bathroom. I'll be back in a little bit." she muttered, standing up and stretching before striding out of the room.
------------
"Are too." Darkness growled under her breath. She glanced at the door and saw the redhead pulling on her winter coat and getting a scarf out of the purse.
"There she is." she said as Zora walked out, glaring at Opal all the while.
"Alright, now all of you leave. Now."
"Are yo-"
"NOW. This is between me and her, understand? No one else."
"...Alright." As Darkness, Starlight and the two demons trudged back inside whilst dragging Jax with them, Zora turned to Opal.
"They're gone. We're alone. Now what did you want to talk with me about?" she was trying her hardest to sound civil, and to not attack. At least the berserker wasn't trying to come out.

Opal stayed silent, sizing Zora up before sighing and losing her expression of annoyance. Now she looked depressed, as if someone she cared about had just died.
"Zora...You and I both know it, we can't fight each other anymore wholeheartedly...That's why I came here. Desaul and Yvette have gotten out of hand, and, well..."

Zora nodded slowly. She got what she was saying... But something wasn't quite right. Did she just say Desaul?
"You're right, I suppose we can't... Damn it, that traitorous bastard..." why hadn't they told her? Although, she supposed she'd been asleep by the time the rest had found this out. So she turned to Opal, the aggravated expression gone from her face.
"I understand. So then, do you need anything of me?"

"Well, to be honest, I do need something from you." Opal muttered, "I've gotten away from Yvette for now, but she's soon going to notice that I'm missing. I know you may not like this idea, and to me it seems like a lot to ask, but I need to travel with you for a little while."

"I see." Zora mumbled, glancing back at the house. Darkness was pacing impatiently in front of the window.
"Well given the circumstances I'm fine with it. The question is how the rest will react, particularly my sisters and Rhythm. Although they DID accept Rayne pretty well..." her face changed to a glare of concentration, then faded back. She'd had an idea.
"If you're a target or you've been attacked, they'll take the news better. And seeing as you're here now, it's got to be one or the other."

"Mmm, well, I will be a target once they figure out where I've gone." Opal groaned, "It won't be too long now." She sighed and stared at the ground, contemplating something.
"Before anything else...We must make a truce. It won't feel right to me otherwise..."

"I... I agree." Zora muttered, glancing down at the ground, "Wouldn't feel right to me either." she looked back up, over at the house again, and then extended a hand and smiled lightly.
"I guess it's settled then. Truce?"

Opal blinked at Zora's hand, then smiled and shook it. Something about this truce made her feel more at ease. One less enemy.
"Truce. Now the only problem is getting the others to agree to such."

"I think I've got that covered." Zora muttered, waving at Darkness who had just looked out the window. Darkness in turn nodded and walked toward the door. As she exited, she looked at both of them skeptically.
"Did I just see what I think I saw?"
"That depends." Zora replied, "What did you see?"
"You two shaking hands."
"You did then. We have made a truce."
Darkness just blinked helplessly.
"What."
"We can't fight each other anymore wholeheartedly, and she's become a target, or at least soon to be. She needs a place to stay."
"Er... alright..." Darkness clearly looked bewildered.
"Yes. Now go let the others know." as Darkness ran back inside, Zora glanced at Opal again.
"...How are you not freezing in that outfit?"
-----------
Darkness closed the door behind her and turned to everyone else in the room. She still had the confused look on her face.
"They um... made a truce. Somehow. And um... uh... she's staying, um..."

"I am freezing." Opal sighed, "I just never show it. I'm quite good at hiding emotions when I want to." Looking around, she blinked up at the white sky before changing her gaze to the house.
"Now then. Can we go inside?"
----------
Aidan snorted angrily.
"I don't know how she can stand to even consider a truce...But we'll have to deal with it..."
