Closed X: The step into other worlds

"I myself am just... surprised." Darkness muttered, "I mean, I'm not gonna get used to it any time soon, but... uh" she blinked at the ground. She really couldn't find the words she wanted to say. Really really couldn't. It was just... astonishing. She blinked at Deax.
"And even if it is, we can take them, I guess..." she eyed the door nervously.
------------
"Yeah, sure." Zora muttered. She'd seen how confused Darkness had looked, and the others probably weren't going to be too thrilled even if she had told them properly. Not to mention the ones who were asleep. And Rhythm. Hell, she wasn't sure even she could break the news to him and not get him extremely angry. As she stepped toward the door, she'd had a thought though, and she glanced backward.
"Can I ask you a favor though? I'm still gonna let you stay even if you can't or you don't want to, I'm just asking. It's almost embarrassing to ask, but... Is there any way you could teach me to ballroom dance by tomorrow?"

Opal glanced back at Zora sadly as she walked towards the door.
"I do feel that I owe something to you for doing this, but I have no idea how to ballroom dance. Sorry."
----------
Aidan sighed. He wasn't alright with this, but he realized he'd have to deal with it. Just then, something struck him.
"Oh man. How are we going to tell Rhythm that his ex is here?"

"Eh, that's OK. Wasn't expecting you to anyway, was only checking. I think Spirit does though, I'll ask her..." Zora sighed as she opened the door and shivered. You could see it in her face; she wanted to go back to sleep.
Darkness glanced at Aidan.
"I don't know, but I think we should leave that to my sister." that was when the door opened. As Zora removed her scarf and coat and hung them up, she sat down next to him and just watched.

"Much warmer..." Opal muttered, glancing around the room. She ignored the obvious tension in the room, looking at everyone and smiling peacefully. Aidan smiled back at her, although it was forced. Opal then looked at Zora for help on what to do next.

"Well, they're obviously not very happy about this..." Zora muttered, "Hm... Well, I guess you just need to prove yourself to them, considering you're... you. No offense, of course, it was the first way of putting it that came to mind." Now obviously, she was talking in a tone so quiet only Opal would be able to hear it, and she glared at Deax while she was doing it. That one would need talking to. She'd do it later or get Darkness to do it since she probably would anyway.
"Well, if you're tired the spare rooms and bathrooms are down that hall, the kitchen's over there and that's about all you need to know." she stumbled blearily. Boy was she ready to go back to sleep, but she didn't want to let it show just yet.
Darkness grunted.
"Yeah yeah, one wrong move and I'll go dragon on her ass..."
"Wait." Kirita blurted out, "Who is she again?"

"I'm someone who had... has a very bad reputation with your friends." Opal answered. She patted Zora on the back as a sign of thanks, then took a nearby chair and sat down in it. The first thing she wanted to do was get rid of the doubt surrounding her. Before she could say anything, Aidan released a question.
"Pardon, but why are you making a truce with Zora now?"
"Over the past few fights, we haven't been able to fight each other wholeheartedly. That's what influenced it, at least."
"Alright, fair enough. And why are you staying here, with all of your enemies?"
"Yvette's form of killing is far worse than yours."

Kirita nodded slowly, taking it in.
"Okaaaay..."
"She's right, on both points. They've gotten out of hand, according to her." Zora stated, "And quite honestly after seeing Rhythm tortured I agree." she visibly flinched, before swaying wearily again. She never wanted to see whip scars like that again, or that horrendous lab for that matter. It was at that moment that Spirit wandered out of the room she'd been in.
"The sno-heeeey, what is she doing here?! And why is Zora not gone Berserk?"
"Calm down Spirit, and listen. We called a truce, and she's left them from what I can gather."
"...Bwuh...? Say what? Did I just-"
"Yes you did it is not so goddamn unbelievable and you were there for those fights."

A moment of silence followed, before Opal spoke again.
"Everyone's questions answered? Good." she muttered, and before Aidan could ask another question, Opal was up, glided across the floor and down the hallway, looking for a spare room. Sighing, Aidan had turned to look for Raiquen, but he wasn't there. He assumed that Rai had gone to his room, so he slumped in his chair.

"Alright, now if you don't mind, I'm going to go back to sleep and or try to break the news to Rhythm. Probably the former before the latter." Zora grumbled, "Spirit, before I go I have a question for you."
"What is it?" Spirit answered.
"You know how to ballroom dance, right?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"I need you to teach me how for tomorrow. If I'm not up could you wake me up in about oh, say... two hours?"
"Um... sure."
"Great..." With that, Zora trudged off, opened the door to Rhythm's room, climbed back into bed next to him, covered up and closed her eyes to try to fall back asleep.

Rhythm blinked his eyes open. The movement of Zora had awakened him, and since he hadn't been sleeping well, he figured he might as well get up. So he sat up, straightened his hair out unsuccessfully, then got out of bed and stretched. He muttered something inaudible, then ambled towards the door tiredly.

As she watched Rhythm get up, Zora wondered whether she should tell him now or let him find out on his own. She didn't want him to hate her for this, but she also didn't want him to find out himself and try to kill her. She also felt tired and didn't want to get up. Oh what to do?
"Rhythm, wait... Before you go out, there's something I need to tell you..." she murmured, "There's... someone you don't exactly like here..."

Rhythm stopped, a few feet away from the door. Turning around, the exhaustion showed on his face. Blinking, he stared at Zora with questioning eyes.
"Someone...I don't exactly like? Who would that be...?"

Zora made a motion for him to come over there, then let her arm fall weakly by her side.
"Well... um..." she wasn't quite sure she could tell him. She just couldn't feel the nerve. About a minute of silence passed before she took a breath and spoke again.
"It's... it's her..." she finally whispered, "I... really didn't want to have to tell you, for fear you might get angry... I don't like it when you get mad, it worries me..."

Rhythm stared in astonishment, before finally realizing who it was. Very stressed at hearing this, he gripped the bed frame and took a few deep breaths. The mention of Opal had triggered his berserk side to start rising out, but he restrained it. His hair had turned lighter though, when he began to speak again.
"Please tell me...What is she doing here...?"

Zora's eyes grew wide with fear. She recognized that, the look in his eyes, the lightening of his hair. She had felt that before, and she knew how hard it was to fight it back. Starting to shake timidly, she inhaled deeply before speaking again, tears starting to fall down her tired face.
"She... she's become a target, a target of the people who had tortured you..." she mumbled weakly, her shaking becoming even more apparent. She didn't want him to leave, and she didn't want to see him become like that, like she had been. Not again, not him. But most of all, she didn't want to see him hurt, as she knew she might have to do to return him to normal.
"Please calm down, you're scaring me... I know how hard it is, but please... Your hair is changing, I know you're fighting it back... And I knew how much this news would stress you... Oh I shouldn't have told you... Please, calm down... Just... please... And don't leave me..."

Rhythm gripped the bed frame tighter. It felt like it was about to crack under his grip, so he let go and pushed himself back up against the wall. He knew the berserker was about to come through, no matter how hard he tried to restrain it. Feeling his hair grow longer, he was sure his hair was pure white now, and his sane self gave one last gasp before giving in. Smiling demon-like, he turned towards the door.
"A target?" Rhythm muttered, his voice drastically changed, "Well, she sure as hell will be hunted by me."

"N-no... please..." Zora stammered weakly. Try as she might, she could not stop shaking for the life of her to get up and do anything. She absolutely hated seeing him like this, and though she knew she wouldn't be able to fight him otherwise like she knew she might have to do, she didn't want to-no, she couldn't force her own out.
...Or could she?
"R-Rhythm... don't make me do this..." she growled. It looked like she was straining herself to her fullest extent to get it out, and it was almost working. Her hair was changing a little. But she could not hold up the facade for long, and she collapsed back down onto the bed, with her hair fading back to normal.
"C-can't..."
Meanwhile, Raven had gone outside and was flying past the window at the exact moment that this was happening. As she stopped to watch the scene unfold, she gasped.
"Have to warn them!" she growled to herself, darting in through the next window over, crashing past the door and arriving where the others were at while flailing her arms wildly.
"Rhythm!! Berserk!!"

Rhythm emitted a low laugh, and slammed the door open. Before he left, he unsheathed his sword and turned to Zora.
"You can't even attack me. Pathetic girl..." He muttered, before turning around and running down the hall. Opal had to be here somewhere. Eventually, he found a door ajar, and kicked it open to reveal Opal staring out the window. The slamming of the door gave her a start, and she gripped her sword.
"This is bad..." she muttered, unsheathing her sword as Rhythm laughed again.
