• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

  • Alright, so we've got Duftmon lurking in the shadows in addition to Meta Knight's warning, and all we can get out of that lot is an awkward conversation amongst themselves. Do you want to stir things up or shall I?
The server froze while I was in the middle of sending a PM. Though it appeared in my outbox, I want to make sure that you got it. Introduction post is done!
Talk about failing at deadlines. Anyway, Maryland is being slammed with blizzards. So, no school means more time to bum around and see to the writing of the RP, which I have been. I'll PM you with what I have so far.
Well, I've got part of the introduction post done. Of course, I won't have too much time to work on it, but I'm confident that it will be done soon.
I'm sorry about the delay. Unfortunately, I'm being crushed under a writer's block, in addition to procrastinitis. I do think a reasonable deadline would be the end of this weekend, unless you're going to cannibalize me if I don't make it. In which case, I don't know.

Alternately, I'm going to try to motivate myself by the end of today, since I have little going on. Otherwise, this weekend.
Ah, TV. Nowadays, it's the neurological equivalent of velociraptor dung. Of course, there was always some turdly aspect of television.

I don't know about good RPs, but that's how mine start.
Lunch often yields absurdity. However, at school, it doesn't compare to class-time antics.

Truth be told, my "ideas" are nothing more than vague concepts kind of mashed together. At this point, I couldn't put them in text.
I see. It's just as important to keep your external organs in working order, kekeke.

As for the forever-in-process (it seems) RP, I still have ideas, they're still forming, they're still inconclusive, and they're still nonexistent outside of my mind. BUT I'LL GET THERE IN THE END~!

Also!--where does your signa-quote come from?
Hm. I was skeptical anyway; I don't think he was much into violence or machines. In fact, I seem to remember being told that he was a peace activist. Well, not everyone has taste.

If it was a good one, you must have gotten good prezzies. Birthday prezzies! It isn't a birthday celebration with out prezzies. Hence why they're their own kind of prezzie. What did prezzies entail? Prezzie prezzie prezzie~!
Happy birthday. I have nothing to give except a VM with which I will clutter your profile, so enjoy. I regret that I gave even less last year.

Otherwise, did you have a good one? And are you really Martin Luther King Jr.?
Sorry about the delay, the server is being mentally challenged.

Moreover, I'm wondering how the Smash world would exist. I'm thinking something like Illusions of the Past; it's the best that I can possibly come up with.

As for the characters learning of it, that's a whole nother can of worms. Ideas are starting to form, though... I'll let you know.
My "requests" will never be that random or absurd.

As did I, however thin. In fact, there are already plenty of bare patches on the ground. But they still called off school for the whole day. I should think the students weren't the only ones eager to have the day off.

And in case you were wondering, I haven't forgotten about our Smash RP.
Loony Tunes was pretty much the only real exposure I ever had to western animation aside from Scooby-Doo (which I still sometimes watch). Of course, I don't remember much. Or anything.

    I liked that one.

I thought your mention of penguins had funny timing, considering my ostrich usertitle and the fact that I was just discussing kiwis with another person. Flightless birds are a topic of much discussion.

Also--wear your pajamas inside-out for me. I mean, if you want. I can't wear my bathrobe inside-out without great inconvenience and I'm desperate for snow tommorrow. Erm, good night.
I think "biased" describes my attitude towards the movie pretty well, though it did exceed my expectations. Of course, when you're a fangirl of who is probably the second-to-main character, that can be expected.

If you watch, perhaps I'll get to see if it's as good as I claim; a second, unbiased opinion will balance things out.

And if I type any more I'll drop, so good night.
EXO-KUN~! No, I haven't gotten any ideas (I'd PM you about that), and no, I haven't started--er, finished writing. I am, however, here to make excuses for myself.

KYUUKYOKUSENJIN OURYUUKEN! In other words, I watched Digimon X-Evolution today. Why should you care? Good question! Basically, it concerns you because it is one factor in my lack of productivity. It was two hours of 100% pure condensed awesome, though. And just in case you're, I don't know, curious, you can find it here (part 1 of 8), subtitled.

Number two on my agenda: Dragon's back. Though this has the potential to hinder my productivity, I'm just adding this to let you know. I don't know if the relation's mutual, but I think Dragon had taken some tad of liking to you, and you might be concerned. That, or I'm happy to have her back and feel the need to tell you for some reason I conjured up.

There you have it. Pointlessness in a can, but I thought I'd drop in and babble at you. It's the thought that counts.
Thank you. :3 I haven't received compliments like those in a while; my bloated ego wasn't ready for it. I personally love the look of blank-eyes. Eyes are the windows to the soul; emptiness implies the lack there of. And black-and-red is my favorite color combination. I really don't think my sprites are that great--with all the good spriters on TCoD, it's hard to stand out, especially when all one can do is edit and splice (and the latter are mediocre)--but my ideas are alright.

I don't understand how my sprite shop of old got popular (the most, actually); aside from the sprites themselves, I was bad-tempered when it was busy, bad-tempered when it wasn't, and the only time I wasn't was when some of the regulars would come and gawk as though my lame splices were masterpieces, and then I began to snap at them because I wanted critique (at least I wasn't a sore head when I got that). Not only that, I have an artist's temperament something awful, as you can probably tell from the way I RP, so requests would pile up and sometimes get forgotten if I didn't type them up as soon as I got them.

I need to learn how not to ramble about myself.

On your second point, what are Exo (I'm using the singular as plural; "Exos" doesn't look right, "Exoes" is sketchy, and I'm not even considering "Exi." Perhaps "Exo's?")? What's the whole backstory behind them? Don't answer if I'm delving into spoiler territory, though.

I feel just the same about spriting. Writing is definitely more of my calling. Anyway, I prefer to pencil sketch in that regard, and I'm so-so at that.
I come bearing gifts of pixelation.

    Firstly--Exo-Raikou HG/SS style:

At first, I found the results to be less than satisfying, but it grew on me. So here it is.

    Secondly:
This... redesign of sorts. Explanation below.

I'll (try to) make it short: The original plan was to make a pixel-over of some card art. Again, E-Raikou themed. However, I didn't go through with it because my POs are mediocre at best and I was getting lazy. In the process of converting the model I was using to HG/SS, I got bored, so I decided to see what alterations to the original design I could make to improve it; sorry to say, even overlooking the poor sprite quality, I'm not a fan of your 'sona. And I like the end result; that would be the second sprite. Then I decided to go through with the original design. I do think the update to HG/SS format and proper shading did it a great justice, though, despite my misgivings.

I would normally critique such a sprite more harshly (or at all), but you're a humble sort, not like some of the newbies I've known to strut about, boasting of their ability recolor a sprite by removing most of its shades and outlines, making it black, green, and magenta, and saving it as a JPEG, until they are struck from their lofty perch by a cutting, verbal blow. You have margin for error in my book.

I haven't had a sprite-related rant in some time! I'm in a good mood after getting that out; during my time as a productive member of the spriting community, a good rant was the only thing that could keep me going. Wasn't the thing for me, really, though I made some worthwhile friends.

I think I rambled. Sorry! Well, the purpose of this was to start a conversation, I suppose. Happy Winter-Thing.
