Open Arceus and Mew -- The Decay

Moonlight turned off the moon. The stage was back to normal. And... the Feraligatr was facing completely opposite from her. She rapidfired Shadow Balla before the Feraligatr had time to respond.

((Mewtwo, I recommend using more description to lengthen your posts a bit.))

Alarmed, Ashley flinched a bit, letting the flames on her head grow just a bit, mostly to intimidate Rasputin. Although, she doubted a huge Luxray like him could be intimidated by anything but an Arbok. Quickly, she loosed a Flamethrower at the Electric-type's shoulder.

Rasputin hissed at the flames licked at his fur, jumping back before it could catch on fire. It hurt, however, and he growled. His fur was continuing to crackle with electricity, ready to be shot off at any time.

"I thought pretend, pretty girl?" He said quietly. "If you don't get out of the way of this, it will hurt."

He let off the electricity that was being stored in a massive wave, speading outwards with Rasputin at the centre.

((Discharge - Power is doubled from charge))

She nodded. NOW I understand! Quickly ducking, she did many hops backward just before the electricity was discharged, and moved away from the water. She felt the lightning crackle at her fur as she tried to dig a hole in the ground deep enough to hide her. Luckily, the ground didn't conduct electricity very well, so she wasn't shocked by the passing Discharge, although she was pricked many times, losing health slowly. Finally, it was deep enough to hide, and as she jumped down, she hit a metal of some sort. There was a bang, and she tried to melt it with a soft Ember, but it didn't work, and she waited to unleash the Dig attack.

The stage lightened.

Argh. Why did he miss? As Oodairu turned around, he was hit in the face with a Shadow Ball. Angered, he used his speed advantage to shoot towards Moonlight with an Ice Fang. Frigid crystals began forming on his sharp teeth.

(( Well, technically you shouldn't act as though any move that directly affects the opponent would work, even if it's just status-lowering. Leer, for example, relies on intimidating the other pokemon in some fashion, so its effectiveness relies on the other pokemon's personality. It'll work this time. ))

The houndoom's eyes glowed a deep, menacing red, and Scar froze, startled by the sudden hellish glare. It was only light, he knew, yet it was so effective from one with the houndoom's appearance... he shook his head to clear it, growling. That was it, then. He would not have attacked the houndoom if she had no intention to fight, but she had just proven that she did wish to do battle. He would, then, fight her without regret.

He knew what he'd do - he'd capitalise on her undoubtedly excellent sense of hearing. Screeching as loudly as possible would be horribly distracting for any canine, possibly enough to affect the rest of the match, but the initial response ought to be greater, enough that she would be unable to effectively retaliate against his attack. In that time, he'd swipe his claws across the houndoom's flesh with as much force as he could, ideally across her more sensitive face, but he'd settle for a leg or her sides if they were more available.

He darted forward, taking in a short breath, and screamed, claws raised to strike and feet ready to push him out of the way should the houndoom attack.

[ Screech + Slash ]

"Oh. Mah. GOOOOOSHHH!" Moonlight screamed as she was bit with frozen teeth. Just as the Feraligatr let go, she was frozen into a block of ice. "...Drat..."

((Can't make being frozen any more descriptive than that XD))

Oodairu grinned, showing his fangs. It may as well have been a Scary Face, but that depended on whether Moonlight was paying attention. He decided it was a good idea after he chose his next attack. Focusing, he slammed into the ice block and Moonlight with an all-out Superpower.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!" she screamed again as the ice shattered and she was thrown at the wall again. "Rrrr, rrrrrrr..." she muttered as ste struggled to get up. She finally collapsed and her eyes were reduces to spirals.

Oodairu didn't bother grinning. She wasn't a wild Pokemon with barely a mind. He had been forced to battle her. It would be good to make it even.

Using his natural speed, he rushed over to her on all fours and then stopped. What would the Absol do? If he started carrying his defeated opponent, would they slash him?

The Absol in their room nodded, nudging an Oran Berry from a hole in the tree towards Moonlight. "That was just practice. As soon as she wakes up, you'll need to follow me." It sat down patiently, looking straight at the spot where the door disappeared, as if to wait for something.

Oodairu looked towards the Absol and nodded. "I'll do as you say." He turned towards Moonlight with one more worried look and scurried backwards towards the dark Pokemon. He didn't want to have to spend the rest of his life like this--would he be able to escape?

"Rrrrr..." she muttered again before seeing the Oran Berry and reaching out and grabbing it with her mouth. It tasted like a mix of flavors. A few seconds later, she was on her feet. "So..." she muttered. "..That was kinda fun, I guess." she fires a playful Shadow Ball at the Feraligatr to play, not making it big at all and not that effective.

Sveena cringed at the cats scream, she wanted to cover her head with her paws. She turned so that her side was facing the pokemon, no time to dodge its menacing claws, she winced as they sunk into her body.

She let loose a loud howl, and quickly let it change into a breath of poison, letting the thin spirals of toxic mist encircle her body. "lets give it a good breath of that, then lets see how well it can scream" she thought.

(Howl+Smog)

Oodairu got the message. "My name's Oodairu," he said, and slapped it back. The ball dissipated. "Seems like we might have a good time together." He turned around and faced the Absol. What next? He thought, staying crouched on all fours so that he could move fast. Sooner or later he might beat up his captor, but he'd have to wait for the right time.

Scar's claws tore through skin and fur, splattering blood on his face and feet. He smirked. The houndoom had reacted well, reducing the damage and likely avoiding blindness, and yet this was all she was capable of doing. His screech had been as effective as he had hoped, and even as he hopped back as quickly as he was able, all she did was throw her head back and howl in pain. The sound was more primal than he had expected, yet it still was not an attack.

Even as the long cry began to fade, small tendrils of purple smoke drifted up from her jaws, and she spewed a cloud of gas into the air. She did so with less force than it was usually used, allowing the cloud to form around her and circle her, the hot cloud slowly drifting up. He leapt backward, although it hardly seemed necessary - she hadn't blown it toward him, and the cloud merely remained around her, drifting up slowly.

He regarded her skeptically. What were her intentions? Yes, it would be unpleasant to attack her, as he'd likely have to inhale the poisonous gas, but hardly impossible. She had the smog surround her rather than Scar, which did indeed force him to enter it should he wish to strike, but houndoom were hardly immune to poison, even gasses released from combustion. If he simply waited, she would either have to inhale the gas or leave the cloud, and he would be free to attack. If he was to assume she was reasonably intelligent and had a mind for battle, why would she do such a thing? Perhaps it was a mere lapse in judgement, but he did not think there would be one so soon.

Then his eyes widened. Of course! There was one great difference between houndoom and absol: fire. He had disregarded the fact as unimportant, but he had been foolish to do so. Indeed, if she was plotting what he believed she might be plotting, it would be unsafe to near her. He'd be harmed far more than she.

In fact, even from this distance, it was unsafe. He disliked retreat, but knew when it was strategic to do so, and would not foolishly remain within her proximity.

He turned and fled toward the lake, running as fast as he was able, though he glanced back every few bounds to check on her. Should she leave the smog cloud behind a safe distance, he'd stop, but otherwise he would continue to run and force her to come to him, nearer to the lake. No, perhaps the presence of water would do little to aid him, but if necessary he had the ability to swim while she would find the experience unpleasant. He did not have a plan with involving the lake as of yet, but it could only be beneficial, even if this flight was unnecessary.

(( Er, that's how I could best interpret the smog, 'specially if you want it encircling your body. ))

(Actually, that was very good, exactly what i meant)

Sveena watched as the Meowth retreated towards the lake, this was perfect, he had actually gone for it. "Stupid cat, he has no idea what i can do." The poison was beginning to settle into her hair, she had to act quickly.

Sveena quickly gathered dark energy from around the room and a little ball formed around her mouth, which she quickly shot, and fallowed it with a short stream of flames. The poison caught fire, she felt the flames surround her body, a little uncomfortable, but nothing she couldn't live with. Then she ran, she was careful not to go too fast and put out the flames, that would ruin the effect as she created six copies of herself, each one flaming like she did.

"There goes two of the disk moves, just two more surprises left." She thought happily as she let each clone run at the cat from different angles, snapping at it, no way to avoid damage except for going into the water, even if he could manage to destroy the clones he couldn't avoid a burn. "That's when i'll get him, he won't ever see it coming. If only I could have used this in a contest!" She let an evil glare shine in her eyes as she fallowed her clones. She bared her teeth, snapping them.

(Shadow ball + double team) She used ember to set the poison on fire)

(( Double team is slightly more effective than general evasiveness-raising, though it doesn't last as long. And in ASB smog's not quite like the liquid poisons. It goes more like this... ))

The purple balls of ghostly energy exploded at Scar's feet, nearly tripping him. He turned back, eyes widening when he saw the glow in the houndoom's mouth. Just as he thought - but would she really do it from within the smog?

She sprayed out the tiny fireballs, each one weak but hot enough at her level to set off a reaction. The smog ignited, spreading the heat throughout the entire cloud.

Scar cursed, knowing it was too late even as he turned and put on a burst of speed.

The smog exploded, a wave of heat blasting Scar's black and the shockwave throwing him several feet. He tumbled across the grass and ended in a slide on his stomach, hissing. Behind him, the houndoom - right in the middle of the explosion - would have been thrown backwards, away from him, as the flames had been between Scar and his opponent. The shockwave would hurt even her, unless she used the energy shield he'd never been able to learn, although it would trap much of the poisonous gas within the shield as well as be difficult to create on time. He turned, startled to see her being thrown through the air - had she really done nothing to protect herself?

There would be no point turning back to attack, so he stood up, though he winced. The blast of heat had seared his back, though not quite enough to hinder him greatly. It would not be so much of a problem once he reached the lake.

Going down on all fours again, he made another dash for the lake.

End stats: Burn (mild) on back. +2 special attack, -1 defence.

(( Because there's really no way to protect yourself from such an explosion, I went ahead and did that - flash fire would be activated btw. Double team and everything else after the explosion wouldn't have been used yet. And yes, that was what he'd been running from before >>; ))

((I'm alive, I'm alive!))

David felt the weight of the Salamence, but did his best to keep his serious look. He closed his eyes and began sending out psychic waves, they didn't do much, but they hurt when his target was at such a close distance. "I have to drag out this fight as much as possible,if I want to win" He thought,as he continued attacking, hoping the Salamence was going to get off him.

Storm grunted as the psychic energy hit her, and reared up.
Shit, she thought, and planted her claws beside the Kirlia's head, on either side. Her head throbbed again, and she thrashed her tail.
"Annoying, are you," she growled, and blasted a point-blank Flamethrower at the Kirlia.
