Names for Gold and Silver Remakes

If they are made, then they'll probably be Dawn and Dusk, but I'd like to see Inferno Gold (Ho-oh) and Typhoon Silver (Lugia) because I'm like that. :D

If I had to come up with a name, it would be something like "Goldengold" and 'SilverySilver". I'm not very good with names :\

Gold and Silver.

It's better than adding DAWN and DUSK to them for the sake of it.

Gold and Silver were fine first time around. They are this time (if it happens)

Shiny Gold and Sparkling Silver sound nice, though Shiny Gold already exists as a fan made remake of gold, so I don't know if it'd be used. I did hear a rumor that they're going to remake them in 2010, but I don't know. I also heard a rumor that a new DS, with no game boy slot, is going to come out. If that's true, then that means that the game boy would be cut off and, most likely the fifth generation would be cut off from the fourth, as the third was from the second. If that was to happen, a second generation remake would be needed.

I think they should name them Brass and Tin version because Ho-oh lives in the Tin Tower and Lugia lived in the Brass Tower before it burned down.

From Wikipedia:
Ecruteak City is prominent for its two towers, the Burned Tower and the Tin Tower. In the west was the Brass Tower, which was said to awaken Pokémon, and in the east was Tin Tower, where Pokémon were said to rest. In addition, Brass Tower was the residence of an immense silver-colored Pokémon, Lugia, while the rainbow-colored Pokémon Ho-Oh resided at the Tin Tower. Around 150 years ago, a lightning bolt struck the Brass Tower, engulfing it in flames that raged for three days until a sudden downpour occurred. While Lugia escaped unharmed, the three Legendary Beasts that lived there, Entei, Suicune, and Raikou, perished. Ho-Oh returned and resurrected the Legendary Beasts and left them to guard the ruins of the newly named Burned Tower.

Pokemon Gold and Silver.

such a perfect game, other names would mess it up imo

I think that there will be another new game out before the Gold and Silver remakes, before Fire Red and Leaf Green we had Gold and Silver and we had Ruby and Sapphire. But I think that Glimmering Gold and Shining Silver are pretty cool names.

When I'd first heard about FR and LG, the names GoldKarat and SterlingSilver came to mind, but they really suck compared to Duskgold and Dawnsilver.

However, are they really needed? Between Generation 3 and 4, you can already get all the pokemon, so remakes aren't really needed. I'd still love to see them, as Gold and Silver are my favorites so far.

But they're mean to be part of generation 4. There's already Diamond and Pearl.

Anyway, Duskgold and Dawnsilver are registered trademarks/copyrights/whatever now, so it'll probably be them. But I think Dawngold and Dusksilver work better. Also, people saying things like 'Shiny gold and Sparkly silver' - Firered and Leafgreen. If it follows that pattern, it will be [noun]gold and [noun]silver, e.g. Dusk and Dawn.

Where'd you find that out?

This. I really like the sound and image of DuskGold and DawnSilver, but they don't make all that much sense when you compare them to DuskSilver and DawnGold.

@_@ This always irks me to no end. [adjective]Gold and [adjective]Silver don't even sound all that cool.

Dittu.

Still, it might be a completely new name pattern... Yes, Nintendo HAS copyrighted DG and DS, but they've also done that for several other game names, none of which have been used.

...

But, yeah, of the known names, DG and DS make the most sense.

That doesn't give any clue as to whether you think it should be DawnSilver/DuskGold or DawnGold/DuskSilver. 8D

I originally posted (before the crash) a quote from Bulbapedia that said Nintendo had copyrighted the two (DawnSilver and DuskGold), but they now take that back -

Bulbapedia said:
Many names have been theorized by fans for these potential remakes, many of them named much like Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are, in the formula of "XGold and YSilver". Nintendo, however, has not claimed ownership of any of these names, though it has been rumored by many that the names Pokémon DuskGold and Pokémon DawnSilver have been trademarked. For simplicity's sake, as there are many names theorized by different fans, many call the potential pair "GSDS".

Although it has been stated that Nintendo trademarked the names DuskGold and DawnSilver, there is no evidence showing they have. It is unknown if games with these names would be produced. DuskGold and DawnSilver seem appropriate, however, as they have similar meanings to the Ecruteak Towers. The Tin Tower is where Pokémon come to pass on (as dusk is the end of the day) and the Brass Tower is where Pokémon were born (as dawn is the beginning of the day). The Dusk and Dawn prefixes are, however, backed up by the introduction of the Dusk Stone and Dawn Stone Stones in Generation IV, and the fact that the Dusk Stone evolves two Generation II Pokémon. There are also two other similarly unused trademarks that Nintendo and Game Freak own, Pocket Monsters WhiteGold and Pocket Monsters MoonStone, however this was trademarked alongside Pocket Monsters Topaz, Amethyst, and Tourmaline. Because Nintendo seems to own http://www.pokemonwhitegold.com, this may be a viable name. As for MoonStone, no such domain exists.

GUYS.

DUSK IS NOT GOLD. DUSK IS GRAY. DUSKGOLD JUST SOUNDS STUPID.

I always thought that Gold Sun and Silver Moon were the obvious choices.

Who wants to bet that those are the names of the Generation V games?
