I bought a couple of Sharpie markers for lineart purposes, but they're so strong they go right through the paper. o.o

When I'm bored I can have silly conversations in my head with the characters I draw. Some of them seem relatively sane, while others are just... out there.

I have a couple Micron pens and sets of Staedtler and Faber-Castell pens for lineart, and it's kind of annoying because the Faber-Castell pens are actually a very dark brown while the other pens are real black. It looks bad when I mix them. :( I had a set of like 30something Sharpies once, but it ended up being taken to school and my friends all drew on their pants and shoes with them. Then they all got lost. D:

I draw on paper, but they're just doodles. I use a ballpoint pen for them.

This is off-topic, but... Hooray for finally being called 'Weta' and not 'Frozen'.

Indeed, Sharpie markers are really strong, and the fumes go right up to your head and make you all dizzy. But, eh, it's the best I have, so...

Thanks, Dannichu! I've actually always thought my drawings were vaguely creepy. I guess that's because I used to draw things that were somewhat disturbing, but thankfully I don't do that anymore.

I also sometimes like to make up weird stories about the stuff I'm drawing as I'm drawing it. I once gave this random drawing of a dinosaur an elaborate history, it was actually rather freaky. I gave it a past and everything. And I actually tell these stories, out loud (as in I'm actually talking. With my voice.), as I'm drawing. "Once upon a time there was a dinosaur. And he was very lonely. He met a little girl, who was his first friend ever in his life..." And it went from that to be saying about how the dinosaur was a mutant created by an evil scientist and that he was on the run from him. And on from there...

Heh, I remember I've done that, too, only instead of stories about a dinosaur, they are about a ghost whose head was an eggplant (which actually looks like a purple tomato) and he went on adventures with his friends, one of which is a one-eyed fly-thing with bat wings on its head (strangely enough, the bug-bat thing is actually kind of cute if you see it.)

Sometimes I can even just ask the character what their name is. I had one straight-up tell me once after killing myself over what to name him. :| The odd thing about that is, if it's like a Pokemon on my game, I can give them any random nickname and they'll just grow into it. It doesn't work that way with completely original characters. :V

Then of course I have the habit of drawing people and never ever coming up with anything about them, so people are like "who is that?" and I'm all, "...a person?" And I can go forever and ever without naming a character despite knowing pretty much everything about them.

I tend to just come up with random facts about my characters as I'm drawing them. "Okay, this guy's a scientist, or maybe a doctor... no, he's a scientist. He looks kinda crazy, but that's just because he hasn't slept in like a week and probably has insomnia. Oh, he likes frogs! Cool! The other one who liked frogs just liked to eat them. :(" And maybe that'll grow to include their story, but the story is usually something that becomes more and more evident as I keep drawing them.

Aww, you guys are making me miss drawing OCs so much~ I've been drawing fanart for so long, it's really hard to come up with my own characters X3

Poor you~ I dunno about the US, but over here Sharpies are ridiculously expensive; my pack of four cost about £7.

[Crazy Linoone]

Linoone wants to join! *waves around*

Linoone has a bad habit of doodling on homework, so most of her doodles are lost/erased. And all her best/great arts are on her homework, so Linoone is sad because of her bad habit. But Linoone thinks doodling on homework is fun, so will probably continue to do so even if it's very annoying to erase all those good arts.

Linoone usually draws with a mechanical pencil. If she feels like it, she may ink it with one of her many inking pens that she either found on the ground or in a drawer somewhere. But those are really good inking pens, so Linoone is happy when she inks with them. Linoone also has this huge stack of paper in a drawer in her room full of her random doodlings, but she's too lazy to scan them all up, so they'll probably just sit there and rot.

Linoone likes to draw Linoones, Pokemon, wolves, and dragons. She thinks dragon wings are really fun to draw, although she's not very good at them. Linoone usually likes to doodle random Linoones or Pokemon all over the place. Linoone also has a current obsession with drawing motorcycles lately for some strange reason.

And Linoone also thinks rambling in third person is fun, but that's off topic.

I mostly tend to ramble about my characters rather than to them, but I think I've had a chat with one of my characters once actually~

I once told a story to myself for two hours. Yeah. About a drawing~ I just wouldn't stop talking~ I was all: "And then blablablah happened... and then... and after that..."

Arylett likes to talk to herself when she draws, yes. Although now I do it all in my head mostly, thank goodness. What if I was sitting in class doodling and I started telling myself a story? Then what would the people say? X3

Also, I have an obssessive habit of all my drawings needing to have a name or a label. Yeah, it's really weird. I just like everything to have an "official" name that everyone can call it by, instead of saying "That Pikachu picture you drew" or whatever.

I can never title my pictures. Which is sad, because all of the contests I'm gonna be entering this year are probably going to require titles. Watch most of mine end up being "Guy... doing... something?".

HEY have a WIP! Since I didn't post a DA or art thread or anything. D: Doem in Photoshop. I think the proportions are probably a bit off, the neck/jawline kinda bothers me, and the clothes look too clumpy, but overall I like it so far. Advice is cool. Will shoot for a background. :B

I don't know why the guy's wearing a bath robe, by the way. But I really wish I had a bath robe like that.

Ahem. Anyway... I think your person is really good. It's mainly because I can't draw humans at all, but your person is still awesome. I love the robes, and how the stars look so natural.

Hmm, crits, crits. The eyes are a bit uneven. It seems one leg is bigger than the other, but that might just be a stylistic thing.
