A lot of the water pokemon don't look weird to me, unless you mean the irl deep sea, in which it's a given they're weird

Yeah, those are odd by default. Though being weird, their pokemon don't seem too bad. Like Lanturn. Seem pretty cheerful for something based on a demonic hellfish

the Poliwag line (minus Politoed) have a transparent stomach to see their intestines


and if they did, I'd imagine they'd cute them up. Just look at hideous angler fish to friendly looking Lanturn

About the closest thing to weird is the gulper eel/oarfish to Huntail (though it's toothy maw is smiling in its recent art)
