• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Closed Pandemic II

"Don't think so," Sapphire replied.

She hesitated, then added, "Why would they kill valuable test subjects like us?"

"I don't think it usually hurts too much."

It took Noah a second to realise that he had been the speaker; he'd been thinking it, but was surprised to see that it had slipped out of his mouth this time. He opened his mouth, closed it, then gathered the courage to continue.

"They're supposed to eat all the electricity first, right? I... I think we feel pain because of electricity in our nerves. I think I read that from somewhere. If they've eaten the electricity, we probably would just feel numb. But there might be chemicals involved in feeling pain, too. I don't know... actually, I heard that the happiness-chemical might come out if you're in pain, so you might even get high."

That sounded ridiculous, even to his ears. Getting high off your insides dissolving? That was just creepy, although it didn't seem too bad for the victim, in that case.

But that depended on the virus - or bacteria, or whatever it was - continually feeding on the electricity. And a bunch of biological stuff he didn't know.

He wished he had his computer; then he could've looked it up. Of course, that would mean it would get the virus all over it, and the virus might try to feed on the electricity in his computer and totally ruin it.

Timothy looked up at Emese and smiled back. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with her, but he was almost completely sure that it wasn't true. For now, he would just wait. He lay down on the floor and rested his head on his hands, looking up at the ceiling for no clear reason. Think, he told himself, but he didn't know what he was thinking about. For now he didn't care what happened, even if he died. He was pretty serene right now, and nothing could arouse his spirit.

"Are we really going to die if it works the way I understand? It eats electricity. If we make electricity in our bodies, wouldn't it just kind of hang around?", Philippe asked.
Another wry laugh, "My condolences go to you volunteers."

"They won't outright kill us, I'd think. The virusthing will. It'll eat us." Emese mumbled, an ear flicking.

She shifted in place a bit, holding her legs to her chest. Her mane stopped sparking, and she rested her head on her knees. She seemed tired, but didn't say anything after her mumbling.

Suddenly, overhead, something started to spray out of the nozzles down onto them. Emese jolted her head upright and stared, wide-eyed, at the ceiling. She shut them soon after, cursing, and rubbed her eyes.

"Ow, ow ow... Viruses in my eye." She hissed.

Kit shakes his head, listening to the others.

Such dark thoughts they have...

He then pulls his knee tighter to himself, his thoughts returning to his family.

"...I hope that they find a cure..."

But after that...what will become of us?

He then hears the crazy one speak. He looks up and see's the nozzles spray, then closes his eyes completely.

"...it begins"

"B-But..." Sapphire stammered, "If we have electricity in us, it'll only feed on that, wouldn't it?" she asked hopefully.

Noah, eyes wide, stared up at the nozzles, watching them turn and release a fine spray of liquid, in droplets small enough to breathe in. Immediately, he closed his eyes and stared down at the floor, not wanting liquid to directly get into his eyes - that hurt - and knowing that electricity-eating viruses probably did a lot of damage to the eyes, which would have a lot of nerves and stuff. He could protect his eyeballs, if nothing else, and that would give him the chance to maybe read again.

He could not, however, stop himself from needing to breathe.

With every breath, he though he could feel something crawling down his throat and into his lungs and spreading throughout his body, but there was no way it happened that fast, if that's what happened at all. "Ah... aaaah..."

It wasn't nearly loud enough to be a scream (probably a good thing) and his vocalisations trailed off into a whimper. "What if there isn't enough electricity? We're not as strong as electric pokemon. If there's too much of the virus in us, it'll eat all of the electricity and start on our bodies."

Philippe replied, "We'll see.", as the virus was sprayed into the chamber. It stung his eyes. He closed them and turned his head down. It felt strange going down his airways, breathing.
"What happens? Well my money is on dissolving organs not hurting much, if at all. Again, we'll see.", Philippe replied with a grim sense of calm.

"Then we die trying to save the others. Maybe next time they will correct their mistakes and find the right way to produce the cure"

Kit smiles sadly to himself, as the feeling of being invaded increased. He coughs a bit, shivering.

Good by Angel...Ryo...I love you both. Please keep save and grow happier once I'm gone.

A tears rolls down his face, a bit of his static clinging to it and sparks once it hit the floor.

"Adios, Kit. You were muy bueno to us all," said Fernando tearfully.

Fernando then said to everyone else, "Well, guys, looks like our fate is sealed. We'll have the virus inserted into our bodies, then we'll die a terrible death."

Fernando couldn't control his sadness, fell onto Emese's lap, and wept openly.

Ken had been sat in the corner. He didn't care for these other people, and it seemed that there was a good chance they would die, as would he. He vaguely wondered why he didn't seem to care, and then he realised it was because he didn't. He couldn't give a stuff for these weaklings, nor did he even care much about his own life any more. He didn't care, but he still didn't feel like dying today. Unfortunately the room was now being sprayed, and there wasn't much he could do about it.

The spray washed over him. The liquid went into his eyes, forcing him to shut them, and into his nose and mouth. It ran down his throat, with almost a burning sensation.
You better hope I die, you punks, otherwise I will get you

Saya woke up from sleeping, and her ears twitched at the sound of spraying. She yawned, and, getting some virus in her mouth, quickly shut it.

She looked around, and yawned again, this time facing the floor.
"It seems they've brought more people in here since I last woke up." She murmered looking around.
"Well, I might as well try and get back to sleep. It's not like theres anything else to do in here."

Mark had been listening to the others talk, while looking at the ground betwween his knees. He heard a hiss, and instictively looked up. He soon regretted this, as getting a mouthful of virus solution wasn't the most wonderful thing that could have happened to him. I'm lucky. At least my glasses stopped the virus from ruining my eyes... Mark pulled his shirt over his mouth, but to no avail; the viruses were still making there way through the fabric. Mark mentally cursed the scientists that had put him here. He had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. If he had been in a different alley, or if that storm had waited a couple of minutes, he wouldn't be in this mess. Mark was tired, hungry, and covered in virus solution to boot. As the viruses made their way to his cells, Mark ran his hand through his hair and got a shock for his efforts.

Timothy stared up at the ceiling. He appeared to be reading an imaginary gigantic novel that was up there or something. He didn't care what happened to him as always.

"It's just viruses. At least we'll be happy dead, if they do dissolve us at all."

Emese let out a loud yelp and sparked sharply when Fernando collapsed on top of her, and kicked her thin legs out, aiming for his groin. Her mane bristled and sparked dangerously.

"Don't touch. Me. Ever." She growled.

The little viruses didn't seem to be harming the captive group at all - They just started to feed off the electricity their bodies gave off. They swarmed all over the room, avoiding light as much as they could. But they couldn't be seen, so none of them would know that...

Sapphire whimpered slightly, crouching. When stuff began spraying through the room, she hid her eyes and mouth, but still had to breathe through her nose.

It was horrible. She felt like she was going to sneeze, but she never did. She hated the sensation as the viruses entered her body. Involuntarily, she used Thunder Wave on herself, out of panic, giving off a bit of electricity. Softly, she began to cry, but not a lot.

"Calm down, Jolteon girl."

He looks over at the crazy woman and stands, looking around at the others. He walks over to Fernando and holds out his hand to the boy.

"I think you will find no comfort with her. Take my hand..."

He coughs as the feeling of the virus crawling down his throat.

Fernando said to Kit, "But, we're trapped here. And, we're doomed to die a terrible death. It's pretty much hopeless unless some sort of absolute miracle happens." Then he added, "Wait, we're Electric Pokemon! Can't we use our electrical powers to save ourselves?"

Timothy perked up. "That's what I was thinking!" he said, before returning to his original stance. He didn't want to use attacks unless he needed to.
