Closed Satan's Dragons

Black Yoshi

look at that PUNGENT KILLSTICK.
Dear reader,
As you know, for many years our land has lived in peace and harmony. But I am sure you have heard of the dark times. Dragons ruled everything. We went to war with them, and slayed all but seven. These seven are known as Satan's Pets. They have been sleeping for thousands of years, thanks to the work of powerful warlocks. But now, their spells are too weak, and the dragons have awakened, more furious than ever. I am reaching out to you and six others. Meet at my house, at noon on the summer solstice. No questions asked.

The old man walked outside, and folded the seven letters into envelopes. He tied one to each of his seven pheonix, and sent his pheonix away.

Ok, here we go~

Name: Chouko Windborn

Race: Sylph A Sylph is a wind elemental, possessing incredable control over the wind. Their bodies are fragile, and if their wings are damaged, they can only hover. They are an entirely female race, mating with males of other races, usualy elves, to have children.

Postion: Cleric

Mount: Nagaindra the Quetzalquotal - A winged serpent with magical power and great intelegence. He's about 13 feet long, and covered in rainbow feathers, with shimmering gold eyes. He can speak telepathicly to any creature, and can speak most forms of humanoid, bird, and reptilian languages.

Appearance: She is small - under five feet - and thin, weighing almost nothing. This is due to her nature as a wind elemental. Her hair is a deep shade of purple, shifting between blue and purple like a beetle's wing. Her eyes are a blue the colour of ice, and glow slightly in the dark. Her hips are wide, as is her chest, while her waist is thinner, but not too thin. She wears a thin sheet of almost-seethrough cloth wrapped around her pale-skinned body to cover the most vital to preserve decency, while remaining lightweight and cool. Her wings are dragonfly-like, and shine, like her hair, in the light, but the colours of the rainbow.

Biography: Chouko was born in the mountains, like most of her kind. Her past was rather uneventful, living in a mountain cave a few miles from the one in which she was born. She met a handsome, young Elf warrior not too long ago, and bore him a baby girl. She left the child with a summoned Air Elemental (resembling a giant, vaugely humanoid cloud) to join the group.

Personality: PO

Picture: This.
Appearance: As seen in the pic, with black hair hidden under the horned helm, and brown eyes. Usually wearing light armor, allowing for mobility.
Biography: A born warrior, trained in skills of fighting and wolfriding from a young age by his clan. He went on to fight in many conflicts with a variety of enemies, and emerged a hardened warrior. He received a summons asking him to meet someone at a residence, and so, he set off.
Personality: I'll go with played out.

Unknown past seems to be trendy here...

Name: Evan

Race: Schattenwesen, or shadow folk, are shapeshifters that can take on a 2D or 3D form. Generally their shape is that of a single species, though they can add or remove stuff as they wish. In light, they are strongest, but in darkness they have the largest reach. They have a limited surface area/matter which changes with the amount of light, but can shrink to be smaller than their limit easily. Those with weak will often feel dread when they are near, but their body temperatures of approximately zero degrees Celsius may be a factor there. They do not speak and cannot wield magic. They don’t really get injured either; though they’re kind of squishy and don’t regenerate, anything you cut off is animate and wants to return to the main mass no matter what. They don’t cast shadows.

Position: Fighter. He’d make a pretty decent scout if you figured out how to get information from the guy (and you wouldn’t be the first if you tried to teach him how to write). He alternatively act as a shield/support for one unit if given orders to, and could possibly act as an assassin or thief if he was told how.

Mount: Lana is another shadow woman, except her preferred form is that of a mare. Vapours rise from her body whenever she’s in solid form, but otherwise she looks like a generic horse with red eyes. When she wishes, she grows wings or a single horn from her forehead, which can be used as if they were real wings or horns. While this hints at the ability for more variation, she doesn’t show it, other than turning into a 2D form and, bizarrely, acting as Evan’s shadow and taking the same form he does, just in 2D.

Picture: Possible forms

Appearance: Evan can take on various forms, but his body is always pure black with varying translucence, with red eyes. Whenever solid, translucent black vapours rise from his body and he has no distinct facial features but his eyes, and his outline is quite blurry. His usual 3D form is one of a hooded figure, rather shapeless with no distinct features of any kind. His second most favourite is a tall man with a fedora, which has somewhat visible arms and indistinct legs. Another favourite is that of a child-size generic person with no hair or discernable clothing, but no real features other than something that vaguely resembles a nose sticking out of his face, and his eyes. Less commonly, he takes the form of a blob on a surface with many tendrils. In any form, he may suddenly grow blades from wherever he wishes.

In 2D form, he generally just takes the shape of a person’s shadow with distinct limbs and hands. He sometimes takes on a more demonic look, however, with claws and horns and body proportions that do not resemble that of a human’s. His limbs may also stretch and contort oddly, or he may grow multiple limbs.

Biography: In the past, Evan and Lana were always servants to some sorcerer and did the sorcerer’s bidding without question; this is all he really knows. The first sorcerer they served was probably their creator. Somehow Evan and Lana didn’t pass away when their master died, although neither know nor care if they were supposed to. They then just continued to serve new masters, generally the master’s apprentice after the previous master died.

Ian, his latest master, recently received a letter about killing dragons, but he had fallen ill and was incapable of doing so. Instead, he sent his loyal shadow servants in his place. This nearly guaranteed Ian’s death, as Evan and Lana were the only ones taking care of him, but they did as ordered.

Personality: Evan is completely apathetic and amoral; he only does what his master commands, and doesn’t doubt it. Nobody would ever know if he even thinks, as he certainly doesn’t speak to anyone. He basically follows orders – whatever you need of him, he’ll do. He must have some sentience, however, as he doesn’t do things exactly to the letter, as a being created totally from magic should do. He can interpret things going on around him, to be certain. He also generally clings to one person in the absence of a master; usually it would be his previous master’s apprentice, but in the absence of one, he might just use another person – and that person does not have a choice about it.

Lana has the same personality, but it appears that she follows Evan in any situation; by extension, she follows his master.

I also hate when there are limited spaces, but I can't have fifteen people taking on seven dragons. Not epic enough oin my opinion. By the way... O_O what finshing touches? That's way more explanitory than required! You're accepted! And we can start now. (I forgot to mention that Xigbar also wears a black cloak when traveling, as he hates the sun.)
---
Xigbar looked at the letter. He looked at the house in front of him. He dismounted Plague, and knocked on the door... with the hilt of one of his swords. The door was promptly answered by an old man. "Come in, quickly!" He ushered Xigbar in. "Would you care forsome tea?"
"No. Now tell me what's going on." Xigbar sat down and put his feet on the table. His red eyes glowed up at the old man from his hood.
"Uh, we have to, um, uh, wait for the, uh, others." The old man managed to splutter.
"......So be it." Xigbar replied.

Mount: Lana is another shadow woman

((I'm not the only one who interpreted that the wrong way, right? >.>;;))

Here he was. In a foreign land, and a culture that was probably very different from that of life with the Orcish clan. Kazil sat atop Fang as he strolled through the streets. He caught an odd glance, but ignored them. He seemed to be on something important, or else he wouldn't have received a letter, it's not likely a simple orc would be summoned for any ordinary task. He glanced at the letter, then up again. Kazil suddenly stopped Fang. They both looked around, and they spotted a certain house. Kazil checked the address and the house. They matched. He got off Fang and strode up to the door, then knocked on it. An old man opened, greeting Kazil, "You're here, come in, quickly!", and Kazil followed, the door being shut behind him. Inside there was an elf at the table. Kazil asked, "There will be others, right?"
"Yes...", the old man replied.

(( Uh actually that was my finished form; everything before the --- was just the original post. Should've indicated it was done I guess.

Also, link008 you can be fairly sure FMC did << ))

Lana touched down on the ground lightly, wings disappearing into her body. The rest of her, too, seemed to melt, sinking into the ground, and spreading into a vague shape of a hooded figure, opposite the sun. Evan stood before the house's door, silent.

... being unable to read, he was unable to determine if this house was the correct one or not.

The only reason he'd landed here was that he'd seen two people of different species enter in a short period of time; this increased the likelihood that he'd found the right place.

The scroll in his chest meant he couldn't just slip under the door, as the scroll was meant to be delivered. In Ian's tower, all of the doors were kept open, except for the entrance to the tower and various other parts of the empty castle. As Evan was mostly the one to clean the castle, he knew what to do with closed doors. He opened the door himself and entered the house. Already the temperature of the room started to decrease, and the smoke rising off his body disappeared into the ceiling instead of fading into the sky. He stepped to the side, so he wouldn't block the door, and stared straight ahead.

(( :D ))

"I think we're almost there, Nagai...!" Chouko cooed, patting the graceful flying serpent.

<I can see it, Mistress Chouko. Do not worry.> He responded, landing before the house, rainbow feathers futtering in a slight breeze.

Chouko slid down the snake's back, her wings folded behind her. They snapped outwards when she was about to hit the ground, and she was left hovering half an inch from the ground.

"I don't know if you'll fit, Nagai, so you stay out here, ok?" She assured Nagaindra, patting his head and hovering towards the door. She rapped gently on it, not wanting to entrude.

"Hello?"

Shard was careful with the letter in his large hands. He looked up at the house in front of him, and took one of the swords in his right hand (he had to have room for the letter in his left). He attempted to gently tap it on the door, and it was just more than needed. Then, Shard went inside and sat down somewhere.

(( Did I mention that no-one knows that Whitney is a werewolf? ))

"You can stop now, Midnight. We're here..." A woman with white hair said, her mount, a completely black wolf, stopped and she dismounted it. "Graa." Midnight growled lowly.

"Thanks. I don't think you should come in, after all the letter was only for me!" Whitney chuckled and kissed the wolf's forehead. Another low growl from Midnight. "I'll be back soon, don't worry."

Whitney knocked on the door to the house in front of her. "Hello?" A man opened the door slightly. "Err, I got a letter..." Whitney showed the man the letter. "Say no more. Come in, come in." The man seemed pleased that finally someone normal came.

Whitney stepped inside the house. Already there were an elf, an orc and to the left of the door stood something black shaped like a man. She sat down at the couch where the elf was.

"Uhh, hi?" The werewolf said nervously.

((And nobody should know that Zrantox is a Banewraith))

Zrantox walked over to the designated meeting place.

Something about this seemed... unsettling. Six strangers, and potential threats. He was told to come here, with the letter saying "no questions asked."

Unacceptable, he thought,I will need to know the exact details of this if I am to join them.

He was also more worried about them finding out of his true power. He didn't like; he could imagine they wouldn't like it either.

The cloaked being eventually reached the meeting area. Steeling himself for what lay ahead, he entered the doorway.

"Hello." Shard returned the greeting from the human. Being seven feet tall himself, she looked rather small compared to the Night Assassin. He moved so that the tips of his two swords were touching the ground in front of him, and the blades were crossed.

(Muahaha. Fear me, for I am a dark elf.[/Randomness])
---
The old man counted the warriors quickly. "Alright." He clapped his hands together. "As your letters said, I have a taks for yo-"
"We know what the letters said, now just tell us what to do." Xigbar interupted. The old man looked at him for a few seconds, then continued.
"I am asking you to destroy Satan's pets." He told them. Xigbar shot up from where he sat.
"That's crazy! You think I would risk my neck for some old geezer like you!? Forget it! And that's an old legend anyway! It's not real!" He burst out.
"You know it is true." The man replied calmly. "You all do."
"IT'S A MYTH!!!!" Xigbar shouted out. "Only a fool would believe such a tale!"
"Sit down." The old man raised a hand, and moved it down. Xigbar felt as though something was pulling on him. He was shortly back in his seat. "And shut up."
