Open The Chimera Project II

As the remaining members of the second group rushed to get into the awaiting truck, the pursuing guards finally arrived in the docking room. But these were different than the soldiers Evan's group had faced; they were not scared of the chimeras nor were they nervous about the idea of killing anything. Or at least that was what he had assumed from the entire squad raising their guns in a way that could be nothing but threatening. Guess we aren't considered "valuable research" anymore.

They fired, and the wall of bullets engulfed the truck. The projectiles ricocheted off the walls of the vehicle's metal walls harmlessly, but then Evan felt something impact on the shell-armor around his left side. Yet, after the original shock, there was no pain, no blood, no broken bones, any kind of injury at all. His body was even stronger than he had originally thought it to be.

Some of the new chimeras had begun their own countermeasures, one firing a barrage of light-bullets at the soldiers and another breathing a screen of fog to distort their vision. While the truck lurched to a start, Evan decided it would only be best for him to offer his own assistance. He raised an arm up in the air, feeling the powerful tingling of alchemy flow through him; though he could not see through the mist, he could hear the familiar crackling of ice crystallizing out of thin air. The frozen pillars he had just created would serve as an effective barrier against any pursuing threats from this direction.

I wonder...even if they don't want us anymore, do they still plan on continuing the experiment? Will they find more people, more victims to be ensnared in this dreadful scheme? Then what do we accomplish in escaping, rather than fighting against the one who is responsible for this atrocity, other than becoming the cause of another's burden?

"What the hell, you let yourself get caught up in this too?!" Edward screamed at the fuzzy man - Havoc - as he stood up in the moving truck.

He quickly toppled over and Havoc caught him, before crouching down himself - he'd been swaying nastily himself. Edward's ears were pressed back to his skull, and his tail was flicking behind him, the boy was clearly annoyed. Havoc merely chuckled.

"How could Mustang let you get caught and turned into a chimera?! I though he cared about his men!" Edward growled, crossing his arms over his chest.

Havoc's face darkened a fraction and he pulled the cigarette from his mouth and blew a smoke ring. He looked down at Edward, unsmiling.

"He does care about us." The man said softly.

Fang continues to curse under his breath, his heart beating faster than the norm. He looks in the mirror and notices that some of the others are fighting back in anyway they can. He looks ahead at the gates and sees that the guards are trying to close them. Fang's eyes narrow, a growl building in his throat.

I will not be stop by a simple gate

He presses on the gas and speeds forward faster than before, the humans scrambling out the way as he speeds towards the gate.

This is going to be bumpy...just don't kill us.

He rams the fence with the full might of the truck, collasping gate under the truck. Fang drives at the same speed with shock on his face.

"...I...I just did that....didn't I"

Yes...yes you did. Don't do it again

Karae jerked awake, partly from the screaming, partly from the sound of bullets ricocheting nearby, and partly from the sudden impact as the truck hit... something. It seemed they weren't going to escape easily. There was the smell of smoke, as well... Looking around blearily, she made an inquiring sound in the direction of the newcomers, wrapping her tail around her waist and then uncoiling it. "What did we just hit?" she asked, lack of sleep making her irritable. Still, she stayed polite and nodded towards all the new chimeras - or those she thought were new... She hadn't payed that much attention when they were in the cell.

This was not a good day... Looking at Evan, she cleared her throat. "I'm sorry, but could you give me some water? It's useful to drink water if you want to stave off hunger, and I haven't eaten for -" she stopped and counted on her hands, frowning as she noticed the blue-ish tinge of her skin. "I think... a day and a half." She had gone without eating for longer, but the combination of fear, the need to be constantly alert and her lack of sustenance was compounding to be quite the problem. A stumbling block, as it were.

A few members of the group of new chimera looked at Marisa, eying her with interest. The purple-haired one grinned at her an extended a tail.

"I'm Charity, nice to meet you." he said.

The mermaid-girl shifted a bit to get comfortable, and seemed to be catching her breath from breathing out the fog-cloud. She finally made a small smile and spoke in a soft voice.

"And I'm Nanami."

((short post is also short. *grumble*))

((Question: Does these chimera's have the ability to shapeshift from human to chimera appearance and vice versa, like in the Anime and Manga?))

((If we had the ability to transform, wouldn't that take away the entire point of this RP? The way I see it, this is about how the players are forced to become something strange and unfamiliar to them. If we could change back and forth at will it would be far easier for the chimeras to cope with situation, knowing that they could just turn it off whenever the situation called for public interaction.))

The sudden jolt of the truck lurching as it impacted against an unknown object was enough to catch Evan off guard and send him stumbling forwards, barely regaining his footing before falling out of the open door. Let's hope Blue-Boy up there didn't ram us through a wall.

He walked past the other chimeras, new and old, to the truck's far wall, where he sat down in front of Karae. That request of hers was rather irritating, to be quite honest; how could someone require such constant maintenance? It wasn't like they were in the middle of a desert (then again, their current knowledge only pointed to this being a military base; for all they knew this place could be halfway to Xing).

Evan sighed. This is going to be a loooong exile. He placed the shell spear on the ground and concentrated once more; crackling lights of alchemy molded the weapon into a wide basin. His eyes remained closed behind the mask, however, while he moved to the next step of forming water in the dish. He finally ended with bringing the sides up and fusing together into a small hole. Evan lifted up the container by its neck and handed it to Karae. "Try to make this one last, 'kay?"

Bakur wondered if anyone would sit by him. He was lopsided as he lumbered along the ground, smashing things with a tail full of force.

No. There was no way he would make friends. He saw a strange chimera pass, wearing a mask that concealed his expression. Bakur thought about what he might be feeling behind the mask...

(( iirc from a long ago conversation with FMC, you can transform between your current form and one that's got even more pokemon traits. ))

Though the truck withstood the impact with the gate (which hadn't been meant to withstand truck attacks), the fact that it didn't crumple under the blow meant that the members of the truck felt the full force - or that's what Marisa thought happened as she lost her balance during the sudden jolt, and fell onto the truck's floor. Her elbow crashed into the metal quite painfully, and she hissed. She gingerly pushed herself off her arm and sat against the wall, feeling her arm for signs of her bones breaking... she didn't feel anything, but with the lingering traces of the initial searing pain, and the current dull throbbing, it might as well have been broken.

It was then that two of the chimera chose to introduce themselves.

Marisa warily shook Charity's tail-hand with her uninjured hand, wondering at the name - wasn't it supposed to be a girl name? Or was this person going to suddenly reveal himself as a girl at some point? Although if that was the case, he'd've probably used a more masculine name. She supposed, then, that his parents might have always wanted him to be a girl and tried to raise him like one, causing a huge load of angst and whining.

Well, yeah, he could just look like a guy, but that was far less interesting.

"I'm Marisa."

"Mor..." Marisa looked at the person who had spoken - the bloody face guy. He was quite pale and had a distant look in his eyes, though he was staring at her. "Mortimer..."

((yep, Kusari's right))

"If he cared about you, he wouldn't let you become like this?!" Edward yelled, poking Havoc in the chest.

Havoc grabbed Edward's finger and gave the boy a very intense look.

"He didn't let us. He disappeared just a little after you did."

Edward shrunk back a bit, but looked worried. Mustang was missing...? Then who would help them? Without Mustang, they were all doomed.

"Damnit..." Edward mumbled.

Bakur overheard that Mustang was missing. And by Edward's one-word speech, he could tell it was very bad. He stood up and rammed his forehead into the wall of the truck, horns and all.

"Bakur, calm down," Rose said. "There are a lot of alchemists around here. Maybe a few good ones."

"Oh, did I introduce myself yet? I'm Rose."

"If Edward hadn't said that, then there obviously would have been someone other than Mustang who could help us," Bakur retorted, removing his head from the wall.

What? Mustang is gone? Tuxa overheard Edward and the guy supposedly (Sp?) named Havoc's conversation. But, why? When? Ed didn't sound pleased at all, and that made her more nervous.

"Hey! Don't make the truck roll ove-er!" Tuxa started yelling after the Nidoking chimera, who had started to hit his head into the wall, but fell onto the floor after the truck rammed into the gate. "Owch..."

"B-but, there is a way to transform back, right? It can't be impossible!" She butted into the conversation between Havoc and Ed, after getting up.

Fang falls silent as he hears the conversation between Havoc and Edward through the small window that connects the driver and the back of the truck.

Mustang is gone...and others think that there is no one else

"...but, that's not true..."

Hm? Is there another that can help you, Boy?

"Yeah...but only if she's still alive..."

Fang continues to drive the truck far away from the labs, thinking of how to find the one Scientist that escaped the labs after creating him.

Hm..She's very pretty, I can see why you want to look for her

"Ew. No...I'm not like that"

"Just as I thought," Rose said, overhearing Fang from the gap in the truck walls. "We're not doomed after all." She swished her tail, satisfied, and sat down again, staring blankly at the opposite wall.

((I have been given permission to do this, so...I use the forbidden art of Human Transmutation to revive this dead tread and time jump into a another area *does so, but the thread is now a Humonculus*...crap, it's gunna eat me))

After driving for a good two hours, Fang comes across a broken down building where Lab 5 used to stand. He parks the truck and slips out of the vehicle wearily. He knocks on the carriage hull once.

"I've stopped at a abandoned building...I'm going to run a search of it though. So all of you be on guard"

Trying to keep them safe? Quite noble of you, Human

Survival is what I'm looking for

Fang walks away from the truck and nears the remains of the building. She closes his eyes and starts to do the scan.

For a building this size...it'll take time to go through it all

"I can wait"
