• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open The Darkest Hour (halfway through plot)

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

"I can probably set them off with fire," Onko suggested. "Then I can burn them and we'll be safe. Unless you have another idea."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

Kester took a deep breath and sighed. There was no use in being needlessly prickly. "I could scatter of them off with a Razor Wind, and then somebody else could destroy them."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

"Let's handle this one step at a time," i said, 'We still need to traverse this pitfall area. We can discuss what methods are nessecary for dealing with the spikes when we get to that part."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

Onko suddenly sent flames at a section in the ground, hitting it hard and revealing a pitfall. "Avoid the hole," she said as she walked around it. "We have to move quietly, or Darkrai's minions will find us."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

Manmuu nodded and shimmied across on the right. When he was across, he waited for the rest of the group.

((Hooray for funny words))

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

"Darkrai doesn't send any minions in these tunnels," i said, 'As far as he's concerned, why bother? He figured the traps would be enough to finsih off anyone who came this far."

"However, he has stationed guards in some of the tunnels when we reach the... third or fourth section, i don't remember which."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

I tossed down another Shaodw Ball. this time, it opened a pit in the floor.

"Okay, here's another pitfall. Though i think there are only a few more left."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

I revealed another pitfall with Dark pulse.

"We're not out of the woods, though. I think that after the spieks there's... there's some kind of pressure-pad area; stepping on those pads will... well, obviously it would be fatal."

I floated over the pitfall. "I just remember that the last obstacle is a bridge over a massive gorge."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

Manmuu nodded. "We should cross one at a time. I'm the heaviest, so I should cross last." He hurled Mud Bomb to reveal another pitfall.

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

Onko stepped around the pitfall. She then spotted a hole in the wall, but not an arrow-shooting one. She used Flame Wheel on it and jumped out of the way, causing the wall to erode. "I think Darkrai was trying to trick us by changing the trap type."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

"Perhaps. Darkrai may have very well changed the layout since I'd heard of the traps."

I floated over to another section. "Odd. I'm pretty sure this is where the Posion spikes start, but I see nothing to suggest that there are any palces for spieks to shoot out of."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

Manmuu lifted a leg and leaned back a little. "That doesn't mean that they aren't very well concealed." He tossed a Mud Bomb ahead of Zrantox.

((Exo-Raikou, you can decide whether the coast is clear or if there was a trap there.))

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

The Mud Bomb hit the ground, and no sooner did it do so then did the floor flip out from under it, sending it down into the abyss.

"Some kind of pitfall upgrade," i said, "Keep an eye out for more flipping floors."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

Onko stepped around the flipping floor. She was just about to put her foot down when she saw very small holes in the ground. The Infernape leaped back and announced, "This is where the spikes start! Everyone be careful. The only problem is that I don't know how to destroy the trap."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

"We need some way to set them off," i said. "But the fact taht there are both flipping floor sections and spieks implies that we're almost out of the tunnel."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

"We need to put pressure on the section," she said. "Can you do that? I only use special attacks made of fire to fight, and that doesn't work well since fire doesn't weigh much."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

"I'm a ghost," i said, "I float across terrain, i have no pressure to put on the floor."

I turned to the Mamoswine. "Perhaps you can use some kind of ground or ice attack to clear the way."

Re: The Darkest Hour- REMADE!

Manmuu nodded. "The only one I can safely use is Mud Bomb, or an Endure-Ice Fang combo. I guess I'll try the latter."
Manmuu focused and held on, and charged into the ground with Ice Fang. No sooner had spikes shot out from below than Manmuu had flung his head backward to avoid the trap. "Looks like that one's clear," he said.
