• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Open The Darkest Hour (halfway through plot)

Onko began to see something.
Two floating figures... they were rather tiny, and looked almost the same. They seemed to be battling each other. The one on the left said, "Give up, Uxie!"
Then somehow, the right one fell to the ground.

I nodded. "thank you," i said, and I teleported out of the cave.

So he knew the whole time... I wonder, then, if he just wanted to lure the killer here...

I'm not sure how
she will take to all fo this. Does she know of Goros' move?

Did she know of Xaicra's?

Artemis went into the woods, looking at the trees. She slashed at one, trying to cut it down all at once. Instead, her arm-blade was stuck deep into the wood after cutting about half-way through the tree. Swearing at herself, she tried to pull it out. It wouldn't budge. Her elbow was starting to hurt.
"Oh, that's r-e-e-e-al nice. My arm is stuck in a tre-"
The Gallade's arm was freed and she suddenly fell backwards, hitting her head against the ground with a thunk. One of the blades hit her face, leaving a huge cut an inch from her eye. It wasn't bleeding too much, at least.
"I'm truly an idiot. A little to the right and..."
Getting up again, she used light instead to cut down the tree and dragged it back, then carefully cut off all the branches. She could cut it into boards later. Artemis hoped nobody saw the scratch on her face and went back into the woods.

I floated back to the base.

"I've learned what I needed to learn," I said, "and it's... not what I expected."

Teleporting to the meeting spot, I said: "What's the problem? Is this place not worthwhile for us to stay? I thought we had agreed on staying here... it's not that, right?"

Artemis turned and ran back to where everyone was supposed to meet. The Gallade felt somewhat embarrassed, hoping nobody would notice her face. She stopped, panting.
"I'm here. What is it?"

"Onko's called a meeting," explained Manmuu simply. "I don't know what it's about."

Meanwhile, back at the volcano, Groudon was plotting....................

"Is everyone here?" Onko called.
She lowered her voice as she nodded to herself in her head. "I had an odd dream where two Pokémon were battling. One appeared to be called Uxie. Two questions: one, does anyone know who Uxie is, and two; does this mean anything to begin with?"

Manmuu shook his head. "I know of no Pokemon named Uxie. Right, Ispirit?"
Ispirit looked at the Mamoswine with a smile on her face. "I do."
"Really?"
"Darkrai once met Uxie. I can't remember what happened after that though.... All I know is that Uxie is the Being of Knowledge. If you look into its eyes, it erases your memory."
"So you have to avoid looking at it?"
"Not necessarily. It usually keeps its eyes closed."
"Do you know anything else?"
"Nope."

Uxie... for some reason the name rang a bell.

"Onko," I said, "Did you happen to see the other one or hear its name?"

"Blue... Blue... a blue one like it..." I muttered to msyelf, "I'm sure I've heard of at least one of those two soemwhere... Wait a moment!"

I remembered it. "Where's Goros? He needs to hear of this."

Artemis folded her arms, thinking.
"Uxie. Yeah, it's a psychic and legendary and it's supposed to be the smartest Pokemon ever. That's all I can think of. A blue one...."
She tapped one of her feet, staring at the ground in frustration.
"Crap, I know this! Um... I think it starts with "A". No, that's not right."

"Well, you have a one in twenty-six chance," Onko joked. "Maybe you're right. But we've got to find Uxie. Something tells me that it might be in trouble. And when we leave, Zrantox can lead the way, since he has the most knowledge of legends and such."

I was surprised by this.

Me? But I, I have....

They don't know that, now do they?

Not like you have a choice, anyway. I see nothing I could gain by interfereing with you, so I'll remain dormant.

I nodded. "Very well. However, I'm only 75% sure about where Uxie's location is. Even back in the day, Uxie and Mesprit were two slippery little poekmon."

"oh, so that blue one was Mesprit," Onko said aloud. "Well, we'll see what we can do with Uxie first. It's okay if you don't completely know where they are; we'll just try our best to find them."

"Very well then," I said, "Form what I remember, Uxie was last seen in an area known as the River of the Anceints. It was said that the whispers of the first poekmon to walk on solid ground could be heard there. I only went tthere once or twice, but I could probably lead you to it."
