Open The Sundering of the World

Haru was puzzled by the Trainer's strange way of talking -- the one who owned the Golurk that was coming in right now. He seemed to know a lot about this world and how it worked, more than a normal person would. But she didn't bring anything up; she had a feeling that pointing it out would make him angry. Instead, she nodded in agreement, though her eyes still showed that she was somewhat confused. She didn't understand what the Fraxure was saying, but the others could, and apparently it was talking about the end of the world or something.

Runa seemed a little surprised as Shadow talked about how he had met with an "orc" once. She wasn't sure what it was exactly, but it appeared to be very large; it was definitely strong enough to take out his eye, whatever it was. A pulse of fear made her shiver, but she quickly regained her composure and continued listening. "Then we will just fight as hard as we can," she decided, mostly talking to herself.

The odd thing here was that the suspicious human seemed to talk sense.

"Indeed, the mortal races of Azeroth certainly grew stronger after fighting the Legion's invasions.", Kathris added, "I will note that I know nothing of this world's races. I have seen only humans and a variety of creatures, such as those. Humans on my homeworld were overzealous and proud of themselves, yet at times, noble. I see that humans here also enjoy living in crowded cities. But it is getting late, is there anywhere to stay here?"

"The pokemon center may allow use to stay the night," shadow suggested, "otherwise we can take shelter in an abandoned building."

"I have yet to see an abandoned building in this city, but we'd better not speak too soon.", Kathris told the black hound, which looked more than a little bit demonic, however it carried no such aura, "However, I do believe we are standing in front of this 'Pokemon center' you speak of. So I'll check it out."

Kathris stepped towards the door, which automatically parted as if by magic. Inside, there was a large green creature, presumably another Pokemon, talking with a town guardsman.

"I pray that you don't expect to win a war like this... What is your plan?", the green creature, which appeared vaguely like a dragon, asked.

"Quite frankly, I don't know. We're doing our best here, but really, I don't think we've ever had to put up with a catastrophe this big.", the policeman replied.

Kathris walked up to the pair discussing the invasion and said, "We will need a plan, otherwise this may very well be truly unwinnable."

"We'll be announcing things tomorrow, so hopefully something is put together then.", the policeman told both of them.

The policeman then turned his attention to the big TV in the lobby. There was a news program on.

"Well, it appears our correspondent from Goldenrod is still with us. How are you doing?"

The view changed to a ravaged city, the Radio Tower still somehow standing in the background. A small group of people sat behind what remained of a wall.

"I'm sitting amongst the ruins with a few others right now. Unfortunately, not everyone could be evacuated before the invaders caught on."

A snarling sound was then heard, followed by a handful of screams and ultimately, the tearing of flesh. The cameraman rotated his view to a creature that was most certainly not a Pokemon. There stood a felhound over a mangled corpse. It pounced on the camera, and static ensued.

"Tell me something. Does magic exist on this world?", Kathris asked.

(Let's get this RP going again!)
Kali glared down at the human before her, giving a soft grunt. "Put together? What a joke..." She shook her head, turning to the side and taking a couple steps away. "I will be speaking tomorrow. You need a plan, I will give you one. It may not be something you like, but we all must make sacrifices at times like these." She began to walk to the stairs of the Pokemon Center, though somewhat slowly as she listened for their reaction, as well as watched out of her extended peripheral vision. At the very end, the Flygon added, "Magic... Of course, it exists everywhere. But that doesn't mean it's necessarily inexplainable.'

((I was going to post on this earlier, too, but I forgot.
I think I'll just make Haru understand Pokemon because apparently, every other human can, and it will be easier.))

Runa turned toward Shadow and nodded, looking around at the surrounding Pokemon Center. They offered hospitality for Pokemon; why not for their Trainers, too? With a smile, the Mightyena looked back toward the one-eyed Houndoom beside her and said, "I bet we'll be able to stay here." Her amber-and-red eyes were bright as she looked around at the others, though her smile faded as she heard what the Flygon had said and as it began to walk away. Her tail stopped wagging, and drooped. "Sacrifices?" she echoed, confused and a little bewildered. "What's she thinking?"

Haru began talking after her Mightyena, though what she said was supposedly independent from what Runa had said. "Hopefully the Flygon doesn't mean that we're going to decide to kill ourselves," the scientist said with an ironic sort of darkness. She looked outside a large window of the Pokemon Center and noticed that night was falling on the land. What would tomorrow bring?

((It's actually listed in the OOC thread, humans and Pokemon can communicate for convenience's sake.))

Kathris was about to ask the green dragon something further, but decided against it when it started walking up the stairs. It might be diurnal and night had fallen.

"There will no doubt be at least a few sacrifices necessary to save this land. My people and the rest of the mortal races on my homeworld have given up much to survive.", Kathris told the young woman, "Elune-adore, humans."

"Attention, everyone.", a policeman announced on the intercom, "There will be a meeting concerning the invaders at around noon tomorrow. Anyone interested in assisting all of us in fighting them off is welcome to attend. Thank you."

"Is that the meeting the guardsmen were talking about?", Kathris pondered out loud, "I don't exactly like going out at noon, but I suppose I should."

She took a seat on a couch and glanced around in thought.

"Alright before it gets to dark out here I'm going to get a room, or what ever," Shadow said and started walking toward the door butthen stopped and looked back,"You gonna come Runa?"

He liked the Mightyena, not only because she was much like his deceased mate, but her strenght and feelings toward her family and friends was comforting. He needed Runa with him, or he would die, she was that last chance at life that he had prayed for.

I cannot upset the Mightyena, for I cannot have her hate or een dislike me, Shadow thought then looked into her eyes, That and she looks like one hell of a fighter.

Runa had been thinking about what the Flygon had said, and she looked slightly bothered for a moment, but her eyes were bright again as she looked up toward Shadow. Her tail lifted slightly, and she nodded, padding toward him at a brisk pace. It was still a little weird to her standing next to a Pokemon that was so much bigger than her; the only Pokemon in Haru's party who was bigger than her was Miles, and though he was larger than this Houndoom, he wasn't usually out at the same time as Runa. She gazed up at the other canid Pokemon for a moment for this reason, and then lowered her head again, looking almost absently toward the door. She looked like she was ready to go, but she was so used to following rather than leading that she would wait for Shadow to move first.

Haru glanced toward the strange human-like creature as the announcement came over the intercom. "I suppose so." She looked back to the few other people who were still gathered near her, then glanced toward Shadow, who was moving toward a door at the side of the Pokemon Center where there were probably extra rooms. "Aren't they waiting a little long?" the Trainer said quietly to herself, and began to follow the Houndoom, and her Mightyena who was quickly making her way toward him. Runa seemed to have taken a liking to Shadow... but a lot of dog Pokemon were social, and Haru guessed that she was excited at meeting someone new.

Axe didn't talk for the rest of the conversation. Then an announcement came on that spread through the whole city; Axe didn't know how, but it definitely reached her ears. Apparently all the Pokémon and people still had a day until the meeting was supposed to commence. At least it gave Axe an excuse to get out of this human-infested place. She'd rather be around other Pokémon, though; the forest was relatively lonely. Maybe she should stay with all these canids.

She shot a nervous glance in Runa's direction. The Mightyena would probably be able to find a place to stay, but Axe didn't have the nerve to ask. She'd probably just stay here and wander around until she got an opportunity to start a conversation without looking stupid. She cast down her eyes anxiously; she'd rather not talk to these Pokémon, really - she just wanted to find stuff out from them. And it was possible to do one without the other, right?

"Guess your nervous, or just not a leader," Shadow said to Runa seeing as she seemed to be waiting for him to move. He was nervous, for one he was with a majestic Mightyena and another because he had never gone into a pokemon center, except in a pokeball. As he walked close to the doors they automatically opened, and with a wave of his tail telling Runa to follow, he stepped inside. As he walked in a cold breeze hit him from a fan above him and made him jump, then some strange chime was heard again making him jumped.

He blushed because he probably looked like an idiot with the way he was acting. The entire place was very nice and very fancy looking, the counters were clean and everything was so orderly. Then he saw a lady with pinkish-red hair and walked up to her.

He turned back to Runa,"Will it be just you and me in a room or will your trainer be there also." he made sure not to make his voice imply any decision, and also not sound strange about asking if they would be together.

(time to skip to the next day... if you still have more to talk about on this day, just put that as the first part of your post, and make the second part about this new day... like what I've done here)

The Flygon glanced back on her way to the stairs leading up, giving everyone a toothy grin. She could tell that quite a few people were listening and now rather confused, but it didn't matter. Everything would be made clear tomorrow. She muttered under her breath as she walked upstairs, "Stupid humans... if we had realized just how incompetent and unorganized they were... it might have happened long ago." She walked along the hallway and found an empty room, then walked inside, sliding the door closed with her tail. It had been a long day, a lot of traveling, first from the desert itself to near Mauville, then carrying a human all the way south to Slateport. But it was a good thing she wasn't relying on the humans for safety... perhaps this was all for the best. Things had already been set in motion, and she knew that they weren't going to be stopped, only explained, and that was her job. Kali climbed up on the bed that had been provided in the room, curling up on her side and wrapping her top wing overtop of her body, her tail coiled around to rest over her face.

The next day was a warm, bright, sunny day. The breeze was gentle and soothing compared to the actual heat. It would have been the perfect day to spend out on Slateport beach, enjoying the tides. Yet, the beaches themselves seemed almost vacant, most people too scared about the oncoming 'storm' that had blown through Johto and Kanto, and was most likely headed this way. Kali was up nice and early, deciding to make herself available to the organizers of the meeting. She climbed up out of bed and walked to the door, taking just a bit of time to figure out the lock mechanism on the door before opening it, and headed down to the lobby to see if anyone else was up early as well. It was almost vacant at the time, but probably the one individual that was still around was the one Kali had been hoping to find, the one she was curious about. She walked up to the indigo-hued Night Elf female and began to speak to her. "Good morning... have you been here all night? I was wondering, you said that you have seen the enemy before, correct? Who are you, and where was this from?"

Kathris stared out the window towards the pleasant waves of the shore, watching the moon set and the sun rise. A voice called out behind her. She turned to find the green creature speaking to her.

"Unlike humans, I'm nocturnal, so yes, I have been up all night. I wish this meeting weren't in the middle of the day, but there's not much I can do about that.", Kathris responded to the dragon-like creature, "I have fought this foe before, yes. I don't exactly know where the Burning Legion came from. While I could go into detail about our past history with them, it's a long tale and probably not exactly what you want to know. They most likely opened a portal from wherever they're operating to this world. It might be the shattered remnants of a world we call Outland, but now, maybe not. And before I tell you who I am, maybe you ought to introduce yourself first. Humans are quite familiar to me, but your kind are not. You look like a sprite or some other sort of fey."

Kali sat down on the ground near the night elf, folding her wings at her back. She gave a bit of a snort and chuckle when she heard the last two sentences from her. "Interesting... So you are from a different world, yet humans and their language exist there as well? Very strange... I wonder how that is possible. Well, I will tell you now, I am a dragon, an earth dragon of sorts. My species is known as Flygons. If by 'fey', you are referring to the bugs that inhabit this world, then I suppose I understand, as we are not completely separate from them, but we are in fact dragons, just as humans here are primates. I suppose what I really am interested in knowing is, what is our foe capable of? What can be done to fend them off? If you are familiar with humans, I suspect they too are familiar with humans, with their strengths and weaknesses, but perhaps it will come to a surprise who they are truly up against. That is why it is important that we have greater information than they."

It turned out that Haru was staying in a room with Runa, just because she would hate to have something happen in the middle of the night, but she let the Mightyena stay out because she was comfortable as she was. Haru slept on a bed in one corner of the room, while Runa rested at the foot of a couch nearby. Though she was out of Haru's view, she was relatively close and could get to her Trainer if need be. Briefly Runa stayed awake to make sure Shadow wasn't too disoriented, her eyes kind, but then she lowered her head to her paws and slept.

Neither Runa nor her Trainer were the type to wake up early, but Runa was tense about the day. Her eyes opened to a sun that had just risen, and she wondered what time the humans would say it was. But she wouldn't want to bother her Trainer just for that question that probably would have no significance to her. Even though the Mightyena's eyes were open, she tried to stay still, in case Shadow was still resting. She tried to just lie there and calm herself down for a while, but she was excited, and after about a quarter hour of being awake, she stood up, padded a few steps toward the middle of the room, and shook herself off. Quietly she glanced around to see if anyone else was awake.

Haru didn't usually wake up much later than that time, because of her field work. She would have been grateful for another hour of rest or so, but she and her Pokemon might have extra preparations. Maybe they could get to trust Shadow, because there would undoubtedly be a necessity for teamwork between them if Shadow was to be on the team. After she heard Runa get up, Haru slid out of bed, first sitting up and then rotating herself off the bed so that she was standing and facing the window. Thankfully, there was a thin curtain, so the light coming through the window was soft and not blindingly bright. The Trainer quickly plucked her glasses from the nightstand next to the bed and walked over to her Mightyena, who looked to be torn between making her way out the door and waiting for Shadow. Haru smiled and approached the door, quickly putting her shoes back on, and then standing up, facing the middle of the room, waiting for Runa and Shadow.

The previous day:

Tobias had watched the rest of the meeting unfold with mild amusement. These poor fools had no idea that everything they were saying could be heard by the enemy, and that said enemy had access to a strong flying pokemon that could deliver everything they heard straight to the ears of his masters. If Tobias could have laughed without being discovered, he would have. It was simply too easy.

Instead, he wrote a simple statement on a piece of paper, on it, it read: Sirs, the resistance plans to hold a meeting in the settlement known as Slateport at midday tomorrow. They have no idea that I am one of them. I advise you hurry to the settlement at the meeting -Tobias.

Handing the paper to Olmak, he simply said "You know what to do." The Golurk grunted in the affirmative, and blasted off into the sky, taking the message with it.

Smiling simply, Tobias said: "I believe my team and I will find rest somewhere... private. I don't enjoy being interrupted when I sleep, after all."

And with that, he moved to a secluded location in the city.
-----
The Current Day:

Tobias had awoken relatively early, and had spent most of the morning quietly instructing his team or waiting for Olmak's return. As of now, he was calmly strolling through the city, Arthron and Crast in tow.

"I think the both of you, along with the others, will find today to be most enjoyable," he said, "this meeting should have some very... interesting results, that's for sure."

Shadow fell asleep well. The room was very nice, compared to the ground. He saw that Runa looked at him before she sleep. She was nice, he liked her a lot.

He woke up very early and walked to the patio door. He lived to watch the sun rise. He heard the others wake up and get ready, but he just kept staring. These sunrises reminded him of his lost mate, this made a small tear flow from his eye, he missed her so much.

Axe had slept behind the building that was apparently called the Pokemon Center. She was pretty hidden back here, unless someone was coming in from the end of town or looking back as they left, she'd be fine. Fortunately, she managed to sleep the whole night without finding herself on the inside of a Poke Ball. Humans were probably too focused on the current situation with the Burning Legion to try and catch a Pokemon anyway. Not that too many Pokemon would survive until the Legion got taken care of, anyway.

With the rising sun, Axe awoke, well rested. There was little movement in the city at this time of day, which was good for her since she had a particular dislike for humans. The meeting thing was today, so she would have to be focused. Until then, she'd probably acquaintance herself with the other Pokemon - making allies at this time would be an advantage. She'd have to wait till they left their buildings, though; she had no intention of entering a human structure unless her life depended on it.

Runa gazed at Shadow a little while longer as she waited for him to get out of his daydream. He had been sitting there for a couple of minutes already, just gazing at the rising sun. She admitted to herself, it was a pretty scene, but they had something to get to. But at the same time, what would happen if she knew that it was the last time that she would see the sun rise? Her stomach felt as if it was in a knot with that thought, but she shook her head. She and her trainer and Shadow could do this! They would figure out what they would do about the Burning Legion after the meeting. The thought didn't comfort her completely, but it was better than just the horrifying relevation alone in her mind.

Now a little afraid, and sure that it was time to head out, the Mightyena padded quietly up to Shadow, her furry tail swishing behind her. She stopped about a paw step behind himm, and a little off to his side, looking at him through the corner of her red-and-yellow eye. "Shadow? Are you ready?" she asked, so quietly it was almost a whisper. But she trailed off as she realized that a tear was falling down his cheek. He had been upset yesterday, too... If he was in a sad mood, Runa would be depressed, too, and they didn't need that when they were about to defend the world. "What's wrong?" she asked, walking all the way up to his side and turning her whole head toward him. She nosed the Houndoom softly and reminded him, "Come on, we need to go."

Haru watched silently from her post by the door. She was getting a little frustrated with waiting, but didn't say anything, because the mood didn't really call for it. It sounded like Shadow was upset about something, and Runa was dealing with it, so Haru guessed that it would only make things worse. She took a few steps forward, but was still a considerable distance across the room from them.

Shadow looked down to the floor. He was happy to have Runa here with him. He thought for a minute more then turned to her.

"I will tell you what is wrong," he said to her," but not now, your trainer is getting agitated."

He stood up, shook himself and looked at the trainer. He let out a weak smile and padded past her, heading to the lobby. The lobby was busy, so he sat near the door waiting for the others.
