Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

The "You Lie" issue

I found SNLs interpritation of it very entertaining. :>
But on the actual thing, you don't shout "You lie" in the middle of a speech, even if he is lying. You raise your hand (Or whatever they do to ask questons during a speech) and comment on the credibility of the persons statement.
I sound like a teacher. -__-;;;

You don't sound like a teacher. You're making a perfectly valid point.

I felt sorry for the senator, whatever his name was. He harmed himself much more than Obama. His life and memory are wrecked hopelessly, and that must be so crushing.

As for what he has changed? Like I said, have you looked at the economy lately? Have you noticed the efforts to shut down Guantanamo Bay, to end the Iraq war?

Hmmm. Speaking of the economy reminds me: I heard he has been sending billions of dollars of aid to Iran and juggling a health care bill which is bound to fail, especially under the circumstances.

while i dont approve of him yelling at a president I like. he would be considered sort of a hero. he stood up against the president, interrupted his speech!!!! he means serious fucking business!!!! its not like what he did was illegal, its just considered not nice. The days a sportsmanship are over.
And what pisses me off is how jimmy carter says that this has to do with race, really..WHAT THE FUCK??? This has nothing to do with race, if Hilary Clinton got the nomination, won the presidency, and made a very similar speech, he would yell the exact same thing, only there would be people thinking it was sexist!!!!!! All this has to do is with the health reform, it has nothing to do with race (or gender), but fucking health.

One last thing, if i was him, i wouldnt have apologized if i was in position (and there was president i hated, which there isnt), show no weakness, even if you are the opposite party, you made ur self look like a big pussy.

But the thing is, if congressman whoever did not apologize, he could kiss his career in politics goodbye, along with any respect anyone would ever give him ever in the future.

He'd be like Blegoyavitch or New York Governor Elliot Spitzer, only to a slightly smaller extent.

The world of US Politics is one that is needed to be constantly balanced, 'cause if you don't, you lose your job. Like, forever.

Oh god my eyes are blinded from the americanness of this post help
How does interrupting a speech make him an instant hero? If Bush or someone had been making a speech and happened to not be telling lies for once and someone yelled YOU LIE it would have been just as stupid. You can be a politician without being a huge manchild like 99% of the Republican party.
While I don't think it is directly connected with his race it's pretty obvious the Republicans trust him even less because he's black. Refer to the photoshop campaign during the elections, the deliberate stress on his middle name (fureinner!!) and the paranoid doubts about his birth certificate even though it has been repeatedly proven he was born in Hawaii.

There is nothing wrong with aplogizing if you made yourself look like a fool, which he did, and which America has done repeatedly over the past several years and which Obama is rightly apologizing for now.

at least any health care bill is better than your current system

the paranoid doubts about his birth certificate even though it has been repeatedly proven he was born in Hawaii.

Don't you love how the republicans whine about how Obama was born outside the 50 states (he wasn't), despite the fact that their candidate was born in Panama?

Anyway, back to Joe Wilson.

I can understand why people considered him a hero. Remember the guy who threw his shoes at Bush?

Either way, it's just rude. How the hell does yelling that the health care bill sucks make your opinion valid?

The situation was just slightly different with the shoe throwing.

Also, it was shoe throwing.
