• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Wait, what was your name?

Phantom

Uh, I didn't do it.
Have you ever met anyone with a really strange or unique name? Do you have a unique name? Would you name your kid a strange name?

I've met people with some weird names. Most I can't pronounce right or even attempt to spell, those people got nicknames.

But I have met some people with strange names; Wingblade, Friendly, and a girl named Memory and her middle name was Lane. Yeah.

My name is really uncommon. I'm confident I'm the only person in the world with my full name. I expect I'm the only person with my first name for a few hundred (thousand?) miles.

I have an acquaintance named Yanmega, no joke, and I don't think he realizes that it's also the name of a pokémon. The strange thing is, I've seen him sign things 'archenemy of chandelure', so I don't know what's up with that.

A couple biblical friends over where I live - Hezekiah, and his brother, Alayhoo (I think? that's how we pronounce it anyways.) Hezekiah's on our Science Olympiad team, so we tend to call him Hez.

And then there's the unfortunate man who played young Rory in 'Let's Kill Hitler' (Doctor Who):

My brother has a relatively uncommon name! It's Weston. I knew someone named Whisper back in North Carolina, and there's a kid named Nohl here.

I know a girl named Phoenix and she is one of the most awesome people I will ever meet. I also know two Danes, which is funny only because they're in the same grade and have the same major.

One of my friends is named Dominque. That isn't a misspelling; her mother was apparently still a little out of it from the anesthetics and forgot an i on the birth certificate.

there's a girl somewhere in my city called pocahontas mcgowan (no surprise, whitest family ever). although she may actually just be a fable.

there was a girl called farrell at my high school, but i thought that was a really cute name! i don't know too many people with strange names, though. most people are pretty traditional around here, haha. one of my friends has a very unique full name but i wouldn't say it was strange; it's just unique, like her! she's lovely.

There was a girl named Mary Snover at my high school.

Speaking of Pokémon and Doctor Who and names, there's going to be a villain called Ms. Delphox :o

My name is Nisreen which is pretty weird. And I babysit these kids names Zayden and Leto sometimes, and their mom is named Taj and the dad is Paxton which is all really weird. My cousin is Hayden-Rayn, my dad's name is Ayman. One of my friends is named Landry. I know a bunch if people with weird names XD

I know (or know of) people named: Beata, Janner, Ritthy, Sonal, Saomi, Bridge, Niv, Ligia, Debora (emphasis on the OR), and Evian. I come from a super multicultural city, so I hear of lots of strange ones.

I know a white girl named Shadowsanna. She goes by Shadow. Pretty cool name.

I know a guy who's middle name is Blade. (before you say he gets all the girls, ((I said it at first too)) he's gay :p)

Debora (emphasis on the OR)

That could be a Kaiju's name if it wasn't a girl's name.

My classmates include a girl whose first and last names are the same (except for the female suffix in the last name, weird Czech thing). There are some others, but I'll attribute those to coming from other countries.

But I met these three people:
First a girl who had a normal first name, but her last name was a bit silly.
Then her friend, whose first two names were basically a chech form of Mary Eugenia.
And then the first girl's brother, Igor.

My mom knew a Rich Wit in college and my dad knew a Mary Christmas.

My friend has a friend named Stormy Fur.

I had a friend in high school named Summer whose brother was River because their dad thought he was Native American but then realized he was actually Mexican.
